  • step by step instructions on how to make your own pinata.
DIY your own pinata for PENNIES.
In this video you will learn how to make an shape pinata you'd like and do it on a REAL BUDGET.
NOTE: this video is NOT how to DECORATE a pinata. I will create and upload a how to "decorate a pinata" video within the next few days.
when planning my oldest's 1st birthday party, 4 years ago, we were a bit tight on cash. I needed to find every way possible to save money.
When going to purchase a pinata I soon realized just how expensive those things are!
I fled to the internet to figure out how to DIY my own pinata and the cost was much more desirable.
PENNIES TO MAKE YOUR OWN pinata.
I chose to make 3 different types: paper mache, recycled cardboard box, and my own cardboard cut out.
Unfortunately, I still had to figure out a lot of it on my own. At the party, after following step by step instructions from multiple videos and blogs, my paper mache PIGGY pinata fell to pieces after just ONE HIT!!
It was ok because we still had 2 more to go.
The second one was a COW pinata, that looked more like something out of the video game, Minecraft. But nothing to fear, everyone still commented on how amazing it was that I could actually make a pinata for myself.
This pinata's structure held up a lot better than Miss Piggy, but the handle RIPPED out of it with the first big kid and the children began beating my poor cow pinata on the floor. kicking it, trampling it, ripping it to shreds.
It was both terrifying and hilarious to see lol
Last up, my pick up TRUCK pinata.
This was was a large one and wasnt sturdy enough to hold the amount of candy that was packed inside it.
Just like Bessy the cow, the handle ripped out.
My step dad quickly saved it before the children could ravish it to pieces... we ended up wrapping the rope around the entire body of the pinata.
It did great and we made it through the entire line up of kids.
A couple parties later and I have now figured out how to make a HEAVY DUTY, STRONG, RELIABLE PINATA and am sharing it all with you here in this video.
If there is something you are still a little confused about, please comment below so I can give you helping hand.
    Thanks for watching.

link below 🍫🍭🍬ADDING THE CANDY TUTORIAL VIDEO🍫🍭🍬(the most asked question on my pinata videos...sorry you guys. lemme make it up to you!)
    th-cam.com/video/SOvC3yz5N-w/w-d-xo.html
Draw a square, preferably in a weak spot of the piñata, anywhere above where you want the candy to sit. Then cut into 3 sides of the square (making a flap).
    Now fill. 😊.
The hole should be only as big as YOU need it to be to effectively insert the candy.
Sorry to everyone confused about that part. I grew up with filling the piñata as like a coming of age. Once your 10 years old, you're job at family parties is to fill the piñata so I assumed everyone knew this 😅

Where did you get the Template for the dinosaurs? I need to make a rather large one by the end of the month. I usually do paper mache, but this time i may do just cardboard like this. I love the design. I did not see a video on your decorating them. Would love to see your final products. Thanks for uploading this.

    • @TheTattooedMommaOfficial
      @TheTattooedMommaOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dana Wilson
I got this template from a dinosaur wall ornament at Hobby Lobby.
But I’ve used giant gift bags before and just cut the pictures out to use as a template.
      Or a dollar tree balloon.
Or if I still can’t find one, I’ve had to resort to drawing a template by hand (which is way too time consuming but an option none the less. Lol)
I will try to get a decorating one out by the end of this week. It’s been too long since the last piñata video. 😍

I'll have to add that part to this video. I assumed people just knew but its a common question lol.

If you want them to have a hard time breaking it then use duck tape to do the final wrap 😄.
I used duck tape for my baseball siblings and that was the only thing that gave them a hard time.

I want to know if it actually breaks when you hit it or if it’s a struggle to break it

    • @TheTattooedMommaOfficial
      @TheTattooedMommaOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

it depends on how many kids you have breaking it and if you are letting older kids break it. the only kids that would probably have a problem breaking it would be like 4 and under. but even my 5 year old can get it to break after a few solid swings with a bat.
side note: I want my pinatas to last through all or most of the kids at parties so i give them a stick to make breaking it even more difficult.

    • @TheTattooedMommaOfficial

I dont use wire for THAT EXACT reason. I switched to rope. It's more convenient, easier, and doesn't rip the piñata
