What is the purpose of an "Admittance Smith Chart"? In this chart, the constant conductance g=1 locus is a circle in mirror image to the constant resistance r=1 locus in the "Impedance Smith Chart"; the latter chart is what is used in the video above.
While it seems intuitively reasonable that the constant r=1 circle would be equivalent to a constant g=1 circle, the very existence (downloadable) of the Admittance Smith Chart forces me to wonder WHY it exists, if it is not used in the above video... which is all about parallel connections, admittance, and compensation design via graphical technique.
    ...
Ah... I think I got it. The good professor is taking a short cut by using the classic (Impedance-form) Smith Chart, for both impedance calculations and admittance calculations. This saves him from the tedium of pulling out the proper Admittance Smith Chart, and re-plotting points that are already mapped on the classic Smith Chart.
Meanwhile, Professor Shevgaonkar deftly starts to speak about "constant conductance" where "constant resistance" used to be the identity of a circle. The rightmost point on the classic Smith Chart suddenly becomes a short-circuit locus (for admittance = infinity) rather than an open-circuit locus (for impedance=infinity). The hash marks along that describe wavelengths, exterior to the SWR=infinity circle, are uniform in spacing; since we are interested in subtractions of two loci, the answers are correct for length-of-transmission line and length-of-stub calculations.
