    Enjoyed the video as many of us are still at status 3000. Thank you for expanding on the dct . Ive been driving manuals for many decades. Buddy brought over a c8 and insisted I drive it. Nice smooth quiet ride

    Do you think the magnetic ride option for 2021 is important to add to my build?

    • @FullThrottleDrive
      @FullThrottleDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on a few factors, but most likely I would tell you it is an incredible option that I think most people would love! And you don't need Z51 for the 2021 model.

    No question, everybody loves the C8 and its DCT. But what of durability? That remains to be seen.

    The Cameros 10 spd was way beyond what was on the C7. I'm baffled that they failed to add that auto into the C7s. It's the reason that I didnt purchase the Z06.
    I blew my ankle bad and cant use a stick anymore.
    Cant wait for my C8. Have to get working again

      Fabricate a stick that pokes the clutch that can be be hand operated

    Emelia Hartford is running a twin turbo C8. She blew the engine recently but was able to determine the DCT can handle about 665 ft LBS of tourque before slipping....
    Check out her channel....

      That's probably one of the ways how Chevy was able to maintain the Corvette's low cost despite being mid-engine

    • @RBZ06LT6
      @RBZ06LT6 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      665lbs is good. The z06 will have a beefed up version of that same transmission I guess.

    I’m still curious how the DCT compares to the M3CS DCT. I would expect the C8 to be better, but hadn’t got to drive one yet.

    Does the engine causes any smellnor fumes in the cabin?

    Less than 10% of Corvettes sold were manual🤔

    • @JBsC6
      @JBsC6 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill Calabrese i thought it was higher like 20 percent and remember dealer ordered inventory always or almost always ordered in automatics so it skewed the unit sales of manual transmission c7 s.

    • @FullThrottleDrive
      @FullThrottleDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know, its really hard to believe honestly. The manuals are so hard to beat in my opinion!

    • @JBsC6
      @JBsC6 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      After driving the c8 dct with 11k miles on it the dct learns and becomes so efficient...so fast...the manual in my current corvette doesnt compete. All GM computers need at least 1500 miles on them...the c8 dct is no exception. The GM computers learn..its sci fi scarey but true. Having pushed an 11k mile c8 a little...trust the dct gets even better over time.

    • @FullThrottleDrive
      @FullThrottleDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! I am just waiting to get 1500 miles on the car. I want it fully broken in before I launch it!
