All presidents left and right since Reagan have failed us.

As an European, it is crazy to pay universities for overpricing their offering and at the same time pay the banks to so they can also make billions on top of that, while they are both incentivized to offer less at an higher price.
College education isn't just for a job. Knowledge is power. That alone improves quality of life. GOP hates education because that threatens their power.

My issue with the student loan debt forgiveness isn’t the debt forgiveness but that it doesn’t change the system to then prevent this from just building right back up over the next decades, and potentially kids will be more likely to take on this enormous debt without a plan for how their career will facilitate paying it back thinking this debt will just get forgiven again in the future.
Actually the borrower defense program that does the forgiveness is part of numerous lawsuits working to get colleges with bad practices sued out of existence. I got my forgiveness approved for over 107k and then they started arguing about it, and it stopped. Then my old college got massively sued and disbanded, so im getting forgiven anyway regardless of the basic forgiveness program. I'm now down to my last 30k owed, and that will likely disappear in the next 6 months, and my predatory school is no more.
