Hey Grant, nice find! Quick question, where can one find some paint for the interior panels? I’m doing the same thing on my half doors. Also, do you spray or roll on? Thanks for the insight!
The SEM interior paint will match the interior well. Make sure to use adhesion promoter before primer. Visit your local auto body supply store and they can walk you through what you need.
@@RustyAutoholicGuy fantastic! looking forward for that videos! jk dana 44 would be a good choise for a ligth willys, high pinion front, good brakes, a litle bigger ring and pinion than "old dana 44", I have an LJ whit JK 44s and 37", 5:13 works great!
@@RustyAutoholicGuy that’s true! For a more “original” look those will be wide, for a more trail machine, maybe whit a big backspace wheels, that will also give a great scrub radius!
Thank you so much Ted! I'm going to go ahead an paint the interior panels as well as doing a few other things to the interior while I have it torn down!
So a couple of things, from a legal perspective it gives you mirrors and some states require doors on vehicles. Really it's the feeling of being open and free. While I'm wheeling it gives my knee something to brace against yet the door is so low I can easily see out of my Wrangler to make sure I'm not going to hit anything. Also I think they look better than full doors on a TJ as well, especially with the top off.
@@RustyAutoholicGuy makes perfect sense now, still legal and better sightline when wheeling, you should consider an enduro for that free feeling though lol
Thank you so much MikaelRT. I'm not sure honestly on the wall hanger, it was a Christmas gift from 2019 and I didn't see any branding on the wall hanger when I was installing it either!
I love my half doors, I’ve also kept my full doors handy for the winter in Canada.
I'm going to be doing the same thing Patrick, I plan on keeping both my hard doors and my half doors for my TJ.
Yes you gotta paint the interior panels. Congrats on the find!
That's the plan Forest, I just need to make sure I have enough paint left to do it, might need to order some from supplies first.

Yup I used the adhesion promoter before when I painted my dash and full door panels from black to tan!
@@RustyAutoholicGuy Cool. Good luck with to project. I dig your channel.
This video brought me a sense of opening a gift on Xmas as a kid. I’m happy for you. Enjoy my brother
that willys tub on the back looks interesting! what are the plans for it?
custom frame, diesel swap, transmission swap, transfer case swap, trying to determine axles but I'm leaning towards Dana 44s

Good to know, I would just be worried with how wide those axles are, the flat fender jeeps are narrow!

Looks fantastic! Congrats on finding them.
Thank you so much!
Congrats on finally aquiring your half doors. My half doors and safari top set-up is so much more enjoyable than my full doors and hardtop set-up.
What Jeep do you have? I've seen a few Safari tops and I've always wondered if I should get one for my TJ as well!
@@RustyAutoholicGuy I've got an LJ. With the half doors and Bestop safari top it just looks RIGHT!
Great Addition Grant, Looks great, but also agree, paint the inside panels

What are the benefits of the half doors? Sorry im a cherokee guy so I honestly dont get it, teach me

I'll look into it but I need to save up funds again!
@@RustyAutoholicGuy keep working at that kubota, my om617a cherokees been on the back burner for too long, one day well both finish diesel jeeps lol
They also give you a bit more room, and they make a perfect shelf to hold your arm..
Nice find Grant! I didn't have the patience to wait so I bought a nice set and had them painted. BTW, what door wall hanger is that?
