Yes. She has a bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctorate. That is about 8 years of academic studies plus teaching, plus years of appraisal experience of high end collections. I would value the free appraisal and a world class expert. I think she knows the second you put something up what it is. I could not do what she is doing to spread the enthusiasm.. When you get your world class appraisal experience and channel, you do it how you want to.

Hi, New follower here! I just bought 600+ vintage fabric patterns from a estate sale for 10 cents each. Im sorting through them some have dates some don't. Ive been looking through them and from what I see so far they seem to be from the 50s-80s. Any advice on how to value them? Ive been going off sold records on Ebay but most I cant find.
Don't use eBay as a price guide. It does not reflect the entire market. You can find bargains there, so you could be using bargain values as your price guide (low) or using an incorrectly identify piece from a seller who didn't know what they were selling. If you want my expertise, I can appraise pieces.
@@janicekromanaker6630 Me, I'm the appraiser who will tell you what people really pay. Resellers you mention typically will tell you what they want to pay so they can flip it. Can you blame them? That being said, in my experiences, I have seen that some will offer you 10 percent of what people really pay or they try to get you to throw a piece away in their trash can and when you leave, they pick it out of the trash.

I found a diamond necklace at a thrift store for $7. At first I was like for costume jewelry at a thrift store that's a bit much. But I realy like it and bought. I noticed it had tags on it and markings on it. I did some research and found out my $7 necklace was worth $80. No they were not big dimonds but hay I got an $80 dimond necklace for $7, you cant go wrong there.

Depends on the piece. Art is a broad term. For example certain paintings might sell better at one place and sculptures another. I have blog articles on my website offering selling tips.

Depends on the item. My online appraisal reports show you where a similar piece sold and for how much. Once person use my reports to sell a plate for $1,000. They bought it for $1 at a yard sale.
I love you but I get distracted by some items on your table that you usually say nothing about. Like those feathers. I have something like that. What us their story?
Everyone sits way too close to the webcam and then manhandles their items and waves them around like they’re gonna drop and break them! People, you need to sit FAAAAAAR back from the camera so Dr. Lori and the rest of us in the audience can see the whole item! You don’t need to get that close unless your item is particularly small. It’s not a Zoom meeting, it’s a video appraisal.

So where are good places to resale art once we know true value once we learn from Dr Lori?
Depends on the piece. Art is a broad term. For example certain paintings might sell better at one place and sculptures another. I have blog articles on my website offering selling tips.

The value is important of course but finding the right "marketplace" to sell in is equally important in order to find the right buyer and that has been one of my biggest questions. I LOVE YOU! Is it faux pas to ask an artist/illustrator to validate a piece they made which you found at an estate sale? Asking for a friend :-)
Many people do that. I can identify pieces too.
If you have an item that's worth $$$, who do you you sell it to? Antique shop vs pawn shop???
Depends on the item. My online appraisal reports show you where a similar piece sold and for how much. Once person use my reports to sell a plate for $1,000. They bought it for $1 at a yard sale.

I love you but I get distracted by some items on your table that you usually say nothing about. Like those feathers. I have something like that. What us their story?
I always add new vintage items to my studio table. Such fun to look at and learn about. Watch the videos I discuss them.
Everyone sits way too close to the webcam and then manhandles their items and waves them around like they’re gonna drop and break them! People, you need to sit FAAAAAAR back from the camera so Dr. Lori and the rest of us in the audience can see the whole item! You don’t need to get that close unless your item is particularly small. It’s not a Zoom meeting, it’s a video appraisal.

I can only speak to what I will do when I will use her services, but... you bet your incoming dollars that it is a business expense.
I agree, we have a fantastic thrift store but they use a sharpie on the original tags, stickers, and on bisque porcelain. Grrrrr…..
