The weather has been providing most of the swarm control in my apiary this year. Usually I will find swarm cells in many of the hives round about now but this year not a single one so far.
I've only done a few splits this year. 80% of my bees haven't swarmed so far because the weather has been so bad. 3 weeks until the longest day so my guess is it'll be the quietest year ever.
Bees are weird, been pretty crappy weather in West Wales, hives had loads of space (did early splits)....routine inspection & swarm cells all over the place 😂😂😂
How do you get the bees to draw out the brood frames fully and not remove the bottom part of the wax? Is there a reason for that? I ask because ours always to that and we cant seem to stop them doing it! Diolch!
I have had to split one of my hives twice this year to prevent swarming.
Right Gwenyn and Andeeeee. Done my split, Ordered new queen, got the masking tape. Wish me luck for next Friday, I am going in.
Good luck!! 😊👍🏻👍🏻

Agree completely. No swarm cells. I caught a June size swarm in early May.
I guess you could shake through a QE i unsure if the queen is not on the shaking frame. Maybe. Just a thought.

Great video thank you very much.
Glad you liked it!
Great video thanks Griff
We used the masking tape method on Friday as we aren’t going to be at home for a few days. Will be interesting to see how they get on.
Hopefully as good as what we have been getting 🤞🏻
@@gwenyngruffydd barely a trace of tape left on the cage!!
Did the queen get accepted?
@@gwenyngruffydd absolutely 👍🏻

Eventually everyone runs out of gear, then its worth demareeing a few, although it is time consuming.
mine are already swarming... poor beekeeping on my part, fun and games.
Why add a queen to the nuc rather than let them raise one from eggs or early larvae? To save time or to be certain?
To get buckfast stock 😊

Just got to wait for a honey flow 🤞🏻
its called Climate engineering , research it , clouds are here to stay , rain and cold , research it
Cloud seeding has been a thing for many decades. If you are referring to chemtrails, then that's just conspiracy crap.
Climate change is a thing ffs.
