My grandmother, who passed away in 1990 at age 90 drank RC from the bottle because unlike Coke and Pepsi, RC didn't make her burp. When I drink one , I always think of her.

RC cola has not been the same since they replaced sugar as the main ingredient with corn syrup. It has a bitter taste to it now. If you want to taste RC like you did in the '70s, add a tablespoon of cane sugar (NOT granulated sugar) to your bottle or can of RC!

I switched to RC because after drinking Coca Cola we were out at a small store and that was the cola they had along with Pepsi which I do NOT like. The RC was far better tasting than Coke! Less sweet, more cola tang and taste!
Too much drinking sweet soft drinks leads to another form of RC Can you say ROOT CANALS?? :) "Me and My RC- One's usually enough for other folks, but just wouldn't do for ME"- I had 6 done at once courtesy of the VA in Boston MA.
@learntoplay100 RC has always defeated in Coke and Pepsi..the parent company worries too much about DR Pepper, even 7Up has slipped in sales, and you will only see very few 7Up commercials on American TV, I just wish that someone would buy the rights to RC, and Nehi from DPS
@Force Market You have to remember this was 1973, marketing wasn't that sophisticated back then, and mainly aimed at the southern US. People were more down to Earth and simple values appealed to them. I appreciate it too, life was better back then especially when it came to dealing with other people. More straight forward.

Lost 4 molars to soda cavities, one had 2 root canals even. Dad bought a case of soda every week, we drank it like water . . . Who knew, lol
