Hotel Room Tour: Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, GA

Before I checked out, I figured I'd give a quick room tour of my room I stayed in for 1 night after arriving in Atlanta. This is a 2 Queen Bedroom with a good view of the city. Ngl, this is one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in, even for my first stay ever at a Marriott property believe it or not! If you're ever in the area and looking for a nice hotel, I would totally recommend this place. I only spent one night here in Atlanta before I headed the road to SC and I only spent about $400 for one night since it's nice after not being able to book Hyatt Regency due to limited space they had. But I honestly enjoyed a nice stay here and the outdoor pool here is amazing!

My room was 4630 up on the 46th floor - one floor from the top level - the 47th floor! My room was in the 42-47 elevator bank. That was back in June 2015. Room 4630 is the Marquis Suite which is a presidential suite. I stayed there days after my 10th birthday.

So I guess the elevators weren't keycarded when you were there? Rumor has it now that they are all keycarded. I saw the swiper in the elevator but it looks like they were unlocked. I wonder if they are keycarded, if you now can only ride the ones that go to your room. Like if you were on floor 35, you wouldn't be able to ride any of the elevators except 31-41.

Nope, they weren’t keyed when I was there. I think I would still ride the other banks even though I would take 31-41 but the only thing is that obviously all of them require a key card to ride them now

@@MilwaukeeCountyElevators Ah ok. In theory, I could see if they REALLY wanted to keep people out, they would code the keys to the banks of elevators, but that would take a LOT of programming. You can probably use all banks if you are in the hotel,, regardless of the floor. That said, 42-47 have always been the concierge levels, so it would kinda make sense in my head if those are separate and can only be accessed by concierge level guests. Where was if you were on 4, you could ride 1-17, 18-30, and 31-41.

Why didn’t you stay between 31-41 they are the fastest glass elevators

It's up to the hotel where they put us. It's not up to the guests. Also, the Internal Elevator travels the same speed as the glass elevators. Also, 31-41 are 800. 42-47 are 1000. These are 700. 1-17 is 500. We don't get to choose what floor our room is on.
