Westbrook too proud. He's gonna stand by what he thinks. He won't win a championship at OKC. Unless he also builds one. But who would wanna go join him??? Remember OKC had a good blueprint for a super team. They had Russell, KD, Harden and Serge Ibaka. They didn't wanna pay 4 million to keep Harden?? How can you make money if you don't spend money in the first place?
Eugene Ansah Well first off the Cap for every team grew by Millions the last couple years because of the new deal the NBA did with Disney and TV company's. Second, I don't think anyone is disagreeing with management letting go all their start player's. Third, this is the year Westbrook prove to people he didn't need KD to be good yeah people called him selfish but, you can say the same about KD leaving for the better team, but it's not like Westbrook wasn't passing the ball, yes they lost in the first round but they almost got 5th seed when everyone was saying they would be a lottery team. You have to remember just a couple year's was the first time NBA players were making more then a hundred million dollars they get twice that now, so 6 years ago 4 mil year is a lot for a NBA team that's at it cap space.
I totally agree with your point, and would just like to add that, in this modern day, players' legacy are judged by whether or not they won a championship. So I definitely don't blame KD for chasing one. I just feel like now many players would start chasing the ring, to join already good teams, and I'm worried it would ruin the NBA.
OKC will not win a Championship the way Westbrook plays he plays what you call hero ball he has to be the hero takes to many shots down the stretch to many turn overs in the fourth quarter in a tight game.
So if Giannis went from the Bucks to GSW and wins a ring, should we blame Tony Snell, Thon Maker, Delly ,Brogdon, etc. for Giannis not winning a ring ?? They act like Durant wasn't putting these numbers throughout his career, a reminder that he is a four time league scoring champion would be appropriate. He did in the finals what Durant has done since college, be a scoring machine. But he has a better system, team, and coach to compliment his talents now. Yes Brodie's style of play is a little selfish, but let's not act like it was all Westbrook's fault. Durant choked along with Russell that 3-1 lead that they held against GSW. Dammit if you put Greg Oden on the Warriors he'll win a ring.
u stupid? the bucks arent even a contender rofl. durant shouldve went to the finals last year and they went to the finals several years ago. and durant choked that 3-1 by himself. esp game 7. he is 100% to blame for that. multiple turnovers and missed shots in the final few minutes. and if im not mistaken, a 5 second violation when hes inbounding the ball? with like a min left? thats choke city. 100% his fault
Stephen A Smith Yes but the west already has some competition. Give LeBron some more competition out east. Stop making it easy for this guy to get to the finals every year!
I swear to GOD the media has short term memory. 2012 Finals (all young , new experience) 2013 Playoffs (No james harden, Ibaka injury) , 2014 Playoffs (Russell Westbrook injury) 2015 Season (Durant foot injury, 1 game out of the 8th seed) 2016 Playoffs (lost to GSW after being up 3-1). NOT BECAUSE OF RUSS AND KD but because of Misfortune.
There's a deeper message if you ask me. It's no different than boxing in which you take on opponents based on the fights that suit your career goals. Kevin Durant can teach us all that sometimes you have to be willing to accept the hate to be great. If your gut is telling you to leave the job, relationship, team, school, etc. for a better opportunity, follow your gut! Don't let scrutiny and hate force you to be miserable in your circumstances just to avoid being ridiculed. Go get what's owed to you, Your Life's Championship Ring.
Roberto Williams not trying to be a hard but in other words you are saying it's OK to give up than to persis cause I don't buy what you are selling, i m in a similar position not basketball wise, now I have a job offer that is willing to pay me more than my current one but I wouldn't be able to continue to pursue my computer study, and there are countless other that has not switch just to make it easier just watch dirk nowizki took him over ten years to win his first ring so the point than I making is that the easy way is not always there for everyone and with Durant everyone saw it as the easy way out
Westbrook theory2.0 I completely understand your position. I have understanding in patience as well. At the end of the day do what's best for you. My main point is that you shouldn't allow the ridicule of others decide for you. You know when to move and when to stay still. You decide. People often miss opportunity because of the fear of judgement. Whether are not he took "the easy way out" ,he did what's he felt was best. The grass is not always greener. We all know that but just remember what Albert Einstein told us about insanity.
The warriors have 4 all stars were they not suppose to win ??? Now it's all Westbrook fault he left when in reality kd just wanted a easy way to get a ring
Russ just had a son and will more than likely win the MVP when announced next week, do we really believe he's concerned at KD's decision from a year ago?
'Αλέξανδρος Ασλανίδης' no he wont. This man cant play with other superstars its just a fact. Never in my life did i see a man have 10 assist but also be as selfish as westbrook. He just cares about his spotlight only
It's funny that folks criticize Russ for being "selfish" when gives 💯 all the damn time. Yet people hate on LeBron for not being a Killa and being passive. Y'all can't have it both ways.
JOSHUA Yancey bron gets criticized for not being a killer when his team needs him to be. Lebron is the best player in the league but too often when his team is struggling he doesn't take over and do what he needs to in order to win. Westbrook gets criticized because too often he forces bad shots when he doesn't need to and it hurts his team because now everyone is just standing around watching you take bad shots.
There's a difference. Lebron is dominant, and Russ is not. Lebron is compared to MJ, so you expect Lebron in the closing minutes to close it out like MJ. For me, I simply do not even put Russ's talent in the same sentence as MJ, so Russ needs to be more selective with his shooting.
Red Chevy Appreciate the reply, I hear what you are saying, but to me we are just talking about effort, no two basketball players are alike in skill. I'm just saying, the moment Russ decides to chill out people will give him shit for not trying anymore
Thank you for being a thunder fan that understands this. I think the biggest reason KD left and broke the league is because of this. He needs a big attitude change because rn you can't win it all with him. His defense was dreadful this year and no all star is going to want to come play with him. But I'm curious to know how you want to improve your team because your cap space is looking shitty with the oladipo, Kanter and Adams contracts
David Joseph a big 3 don't mean shit smh lol. GS literally have the 2nd and 3rd best player in the league on there team, accompanied by 4 allstars. Come on people!!!!!!!! Give me another time in history where this has happened. You should wanna play against these guys, not be on the same team.
Why don't we just put Lebron, Durant, Westbrook, Harden, CP3, Carmelo, Hayward, Paul George all on the same team so they can all win a championship smh
I'm listening as I type this, but let's be fair, it's easy to say how KD benefit from teammates when they are the caliber of the warriors. No team has that talent; but people act like the warriors are the suns or something. Two or three of their bench players could star for most NBA teams. How man teams can say that?? Let's be honest
I support OKC since years. but russell has to leave OKC, if he want to win a ring. sam presti and others didn't work right in the last years which we see. OKC had lost too many good players in the last years and pay good money to "casual" players like enis - this doesn't work. So please russell, go when your contract is over and do the "KD-Move": win a ring to turn down the volume of your critics!
Golden State didn't get Durant to "overcome the King". They already "overcame the King" the season before! "The King" needed help from Adam Silver and a series of unfortunate injuries to the opponent for him to pull out a 3-1 come back victory in 7 games in 2016. The Golden State Warriors looked like the superior team whenever they went up against the Cavs even BEFORE they got Durant. So stop the nonsense! They got Durant to eliminate the threat that was the OKC Thunder! That was the team that had them down 3-1 on the verge of elimination. The Warriors needed luck and a choke job by OKC to make it past the Thunder. By getting Durant, they eliminated the greatest threat to their potential dynasty.
cyber6sapien I KNOW that. Since we both agree how dominant KD and Russ were together, then why the bs that Westbrook was holding KD back? If they were clearly the superior team to Golden State last year smh
wasn't kd a star in okc? didnt he win scoring titles? how did westbrook hold him back from playing his game or shining? and Westbrook also finished 3rd in league with assist (10.4) sooooo...selfish???
Bre'Shaun Barkus So you're saying kd did those things in spite of westbrook. Right ok, so I'm saying how did westbrook hold him back if kd was going to do them regardless.
william mancia Because it took a Westbrook injury for a guy who averaged 30 in his third season to do it again. Because Durant in January of 2014 shot 54% and 43% from three which was an increase. That's how.
Bre'Shaun Barkus See I think everyone has been trying to pin this on westbrook, like he wasn't good enough. Like curry is more talented or just naturally better and that's why kd went there because westbrook wasn't that guy. But thats not the case, okc had chances to win the title or at least make it there but they had tons of 4th quarter collapses. Remember Harden was a no show in the playoffs one year then bounce out of there. Both kd and Westbrook seemed like they didn't want the last shot. Kd would pass it up a lot. They were too young when they went to the finals for that pressure. You can look at the warriors and say curry and klay can be stars of their own teams. So they were just a better team than okc, better drafting and holding on to those players. That is not westbrooks fault. Kd did his thing in okc so did westbrook, they just needed more pieces or to have hold onto the ones they had.
unlikely. Steph is playing better, Klay would step up, and Green would get more shots and likely average close to a triple dub. The Warriors were the team that lost last season, more than the Cavs won. It would have been a lot closer though!
I don't know man, steph didn't play better than last year, and the reason why he was able to do better post season this time around was because of the immense pressure KD takes off of him. Klay was cold more than anything, so I don't think it is correct to assume he would. Green would play regularly. Overall it seemed like the cavs were playing better, but when you go up against that much fire power, it just isn't enough.
lil ty people have said that about every game the warriors and thunder played last year but Russell played like trash in all of them. no doubt Russell is the MVP though
did lebron have an easy path with the heat? did rodman have an easy path with the bulls? did magic Johnson take the easy path when he joined the already super team Lakers? NO!!! nothing is set in stone. the greatest player in the world was waiting for kd in the East. kd outplayed James and was much more clutch than James. Durant took the dagger 3 point shot in James face when lebron deferred to Kyle korver in his moment. if James had a killer mentality the series would have been tied going into game 5.
+Mario Giorgi p.s. I'm a bulls fan. however I think these huge rivalries and amazing historic teams are great for basketball. we just got to watch some of the most elite basketball play in the history of the NBA and I feel thankful for that.
Mario Giorgi you are completely wrong. KD had the easiest path to a ring with WHO was around him. You could put KD, Lebron, Paul George, Isaiah Thomas, ANYONE big and they would win with that Warriors team.
Mario Giorgi Magic Johnson was selected first in the draft to the lakers so he can't control where he's drafted too so he didn't take an easy path. Know you facts before you start talking
Yes, selfless play is preferable, but there are plenty of teams/players that don't operate that way and win. The Cavs won last year with Kyrie Irving being a 1V1 player. I think it is more about the other players in OKC. They just haven't had a great 3rd option since Harden left. In the league you pretty much have to have three great players and a bunch of role players to win a championship. Get Russ those players and lets see what he can do.
All those years with Russ and what does KD have to show for it? Zero Finals and Zero Finals MVP’s! What about over a two year GSW career span? 2 CHIPS AND 2 FINALS MVP’s, pretty much solidifying a spot in the NBA Hall of Fame! If one of the GSW stars left GS for OKC instead of KD leaving OKC, there is no way to be sure that OKC would have a chip! For real, Russ is NOT a team player and he is a selfish baller. This whole situation makes me so frighten ecstatic. I love how pissed and jealous Russ must be!
I don't see Russ fitting in no super team no matter the players involved, the volume of shots Russ takes, the fierce nature he displays, and the confidence he carries himself with just seems old-school and no superstar player in this current NBA seems like a perfect fit for him. I hope KD winning a ring can be the ultimate motivation for Russ.
resColts I don't get the point your trying to make, Bron been in the league for 14 years Russ for 9 years. That's 5 more years then Russ and only a difference of 1.5 shots. If your smart enough to differentiate that you would know Russ numbers will increase to waaaaay more than the 19.6 shots Lebron has takin in 14 years.
AR XV hell yes. I'm a lebron fan and if Westbrook came to Cleveland I would usually see that as a weak move but in this case I wouldn't care because since the warriors want to build a super team, we should be able to also
AR XV thats what i am saying. as the saying goes ' the enemy of my enemy is my friend'. in other words lebrons biggest enemy is kd and curry. westbrook hates kd and curry even more. so lebron and westbrook should team up and go up against their mutual enemies. that would be legendary. kd vs bron. westbrook vs curry. klay vs kyrie.
Its the organization fault OKC never had real shooters on there team when they had Durant and Westbrook so its not the players fault, its the GM and Owner fault
people with all their hate towards KD (myself somewhat included, because it was a weak move) never took the time to notice how classy KD has been about westbrook...he never badmouthed him or blamed his selfish play as the reason for leaving, even though that was clearly a factor...the warriors are not only much more talented, their team culture is the opposite of hero ball playing OKC
KD still a cupcake. I don't care if he is a so called "champion" now, going to a team with 3 all stars, record setting 72 win, who embarrased you last year overcoming a 3-1 lead you had over them and you are weak enough to left your team for them cuz you can't beat them!? You are a cupcake my man. Westbrook is the real champ.
Westbrook needs to go to Spurs or Pelicans (if not CP3) unless Blake wants to play for his hometown, that would be a nasty combo if they add another good 3PT shooter.
IOS In-app Review Westbrook also won the regular season MVP and now has a child to take care of. He ain't sad about anything and KD probably is happy for him.
Golden State plays a beautiful style of ball. Movement, passing, defense. If nothing else, KD must be having a blast playing there. Would never have happened in OKC with Westbrook. Congrats KD!
There is no way Lebron would go to the West. Dude is too comfortable feeding on the pathetic Eastern teams. Also, he already has a similar player in Irving who can shoot 3's better than Westbrook.
Silehnt Without Lebron in the East who the hell can win a Championship?? Raptors? Wizards? Celtics? Hell no. If he went to the West the league would be unbalanced because The West would win every year.
If they think Westbrook gives a shit they in for a sad realization. Durant left because he was a bitch and didn't want to elevate his game. When they were up 3-1 on the Warriors where was Durant. When they were in the finals where was he at? When Westbrook went down where did he take the reins and take command of the team. Durant knew good and well he needed to step up if he wanted to be in the same league as LeBron and Kobe. But he wanted to stay the same and everything around him change. Westbrook bodies Curry every opportunity he gets and we here pretending Curry is some top level PG. Congrats to Durant for getting what he wants but everybody knows this championship doesn't move anybody's opinion on him
to answer all your questions: 1. averaging 30 ppg with only 1 bad game (game 6) the whole series 2. averaging 30+ ppg on lebron (who was one of the top defenders during that time) 3. led the thunder to 2nd seed and became mvp also curry eats westbrook every time they play. westbrook can't even sniff 50 wins when KD went down in 2014-15 or when KD left his ball hogging ass in okc. westbrook can have all the stats he wants. he aint winning shit playing like this
Steven Weech Nigga KD was killing the entire league without Russ in 2014 what are you talking about? They were 20-7 in the 27 without Russ. Russ will NEVER go 20-7 in a 27 game stretch without KD. NEVER in his life
Westbrook got his MVP, triple double record and most statistically impressive season of all time. So now he can focus on changing things up. Russell isn't dumb, he'll definitely do things differently.
He said he wants to stay in OKC at least until his contract terminates, he will be talking to his GM or making calls to make build a better team in the summer.
Westbrook wanted to be the Alpha Male on that team and he was successful at that. KD knew Westbrook had a more dominant personality and that Westbrook took over the team. Durant didn't want to play 2nd to Westbrook and went to a team that played team ball with occasional 1 on 1 iso. Steph welcomed KD and didn't care if he was a gifted freak and would be the best player. If Westbrook had the same approach as Steph, Thunder might be Champions with Westbrook and KD. They had GS down 3 to 1 a year ago. Now Westbrook can be the man by himself and win regular season MVP but no rings
he should be thanking kd for letting him hold the ball 24/7 and being the man. No more sharing for him, padding his stats every game, just the way he likes it.
Westbrook shouldn't be impressed... if they added Westbrook to the warriors instead of Durant it would have been the same result. Actually if they added any superstar player it would be the same result. Nothing special.
Random Gamer there is a nice explanation of why his stats don't help his team done by bballbreakdown. Search that channel, no point in lengthy explanations here when he did it better than I could
Russ is NOT a real team Player, he's more ego driven, not to say he doesn't want to win...he doesn't really know how to though. He's an individual player whose personal stats are seemingly more important than his team winning. He's that player that's like "Yea we lost, but I had 45"😂😂😂
- Kevin Durant (28.4 points per game) and LeBron James (28.3 ppg) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in NBA playoff history in playoff scoring average. Rank, Player, PPG 1. Michael Jordan, 33.45 2. Allen Iverson, 29.73 3. Jerry West, 29.13 4. Kevin Durant, 28.44 5. LeBron James, 28.28 *Minimum 25 games or 625 points scored
Westbrook is the Allen Iverson of this generation. Underappreciated, public opinion is bad, yet most entertaining player in the league and his fans will never forget like they never forgot A.I.
ok ok. This summer will define Westbrook since he's a free agent. Option 1: Take the 200 mill contract at okc and only be good during the regular season. Option 2: Be smart and try to find another team to win a ring with in the next few seasons
And people think Russ is better than Steph... Swap Westbrook with Steph and the Warriors won't even make it out of the west. Russ doesn't make his teammates better. He doesn't have the vision of Steph when it comes to playing in a great system.
Put Steph on any other team, he wouldn't be as good. He is in the perfect situation because he can run down court and throw up threes all game. He can go 1 for 10 in a night and the warriors would still win. He couldn't do that on any other team
Russell shouldn't feel no type of way Kevin is weak. it was a forgone conclusion that when he signed with golden state they where going to win the so what the hell did he prove not a damn thing except when you join a team that's been to back to back finals you can go one two.
Shelia Young dats not true y'all said da same thing win da Lakers form a superteam and did they win no, y'all da same thing win LeBron, Dwayne, Bosch got to together did dey win no they lost to Dallas so wat y'all talking bout
Shawn Drake look I am the biggest Lebron fan in the world but watching how golden state played in the first 20 games I new they where going to win the chemistry was there the team ball was there and so did everybody else they where favored the minute he signed and what happened they won. Lebron has been to 8 finals and was underdogs in six golden state has been to 3 and was the favorites in all three so you must be the only one who didn't think they wouldn't win when they added the second best player in the NBA.
Shelia Young no I know basketball da even doe da Warriors one they still not da best team in basketball the best team dis year where da Spurs yeah I know they lost but da best team don't always win keep dat in mind
Stephen A is right on the money. Durant winning a championship and Finals MVP less than a year after leaving his former team should be a major reality check for Westbrook and his style of play. But likely he won't see it that way because even at this point in his career, he doesn't appear to be anywhere near as self-aware enough to reflect on himself in that way. That's why I don't see him ever leading a team championship, like his former teammate just finished doing.1 second ago•
He doesn't give a fuck, he stayed loyal to his team while his long time friend abandoned him to play for a super team and platinum state's yell, plug their eyes running around in circles yelping "bron did the same thing in miami". Lebron got beat in the finals and ran to the team that beat him, he didn't leave complete bums in Cleveland and form a championship team. Lol right?
Zoe just cause I'm an immigrant doesn't mean im not an American. I am a citizen of the United States and I'm proud to be a citizen no matter how these states are being ran. I'm probably a better citizen then you, so maybe you go to another country and stay there cause then you'll appreciate rugby, which is better than football
Winning championships with strangers is much better than losing with family that you known for years, without a championship. Which one is more suitable of pleasing the haters on this topic?
Max is so wrong... didn't shoot a game winner in game 3.... the guy can create his own shots so all that KD wanting to play for an unselfish team is st8 up bs
Mr Jones KD is literally unguardable... secondly the dude was up 3-1 against GSW nd the last 3 games he wasn't a shell of himself for Watever reason... KD winning that title look weak AF jus like Lebron winning in Miami even though he joined a 41 win team compared to KD joining a 73 win team...
Abdirazak Warsame 32-10-10 on 24 fga per game on 42% shooting - 42% usage rate - less contested 3s than deandre jordan plus his big men boxing out for him.
Ballin Too That's cute. Couldn't get 50 wins in 82 games but Durant lead OKC to 20 wins in 27 without Russ in 2014.... Gtfoh he ain't on Durant's level.
I've been saying this for a long time..Management was playing favorites between Durant and Westbrook. And the disdain for them because they let Harden go...I'm from OKC
OKC had ,Harden, Kevin Durant ,Westbrook, that's a super team, they never realized what they had. Train is gone some teams wait 20 years to have those guys on a team. Ibaka, Jackson, so many option to trade and build that team, they blew it big time.
I can almost promise you that he doesn't care all the much. He stopped caring about what KD did after the first half of the season. People always say that it was because Westbrook didn't share the ball, even though he's averaged 10 assists in the last two seasons. KD just wanted a ring.
Thank you Max Kellerman! Westbrook isn't to blame for KD not winning and KD winning really isn't all that big of a deal. All he did was what he was supposed to do. The Thunder were so close last year ... that's why everybodys been hatin on Durant so much, because he didn't have to do what he did to win, but now we'll never know for sure.
Westbrook is somewhere minding his business and here these men are talking about how Westbrook "should" feel? What is this?
Ronold Cledor lmao exactly
Ronold Cledor couldn't say it any better
Ronold Cledor hell yeah
if you think RUSS isn't contemplating what could have been your crazy . specially when your other teammate put you out in the first round .
Ronold Cledor stupidity,bro
He should feel upset.... but in reality he really doesn't give a fuck, I honestly think he prefers being the main man on a subpar team.
Jarett Black how you know what he prefers and thinks. Don't be speaking for other people.
European Porzingis He never said he knows anything he just said he "thinks" jeez people get so emotional over normal comments
European Porzingis it's true Russ just care about being the man
Just what tf does a real nigga mean? Arrogant af and with low IQ?
Soccercrazyigboman He need some prooottieenn 😂
I still can't believe Harden used to come off the bench for my thunder!
I know we had 3 of top 5 players in world
they should have atleast 2 titles by now
Just A Black Atheist I know, I would have gone with Harden over Ibaka. It was clear Harden was a superstar.
lwst82 not at the time
Just A Black Atheist Jeff green was nice on okc also
Westbrook too proud.
How can you make money if you don't spend money in the first place?
i know right? and now, they're paying the same amount of money they would have paid had they decided to retain their core players back then SMH
Eugene Ansah Well first off the Cap for every team grew by Millions the last couple years because of the new deal the NBA did with Disney and TV company's. OKC will not win a Championship the way Westbrook plays he plays what you call hero ball he has to be the hero takes to many shots down the stretch to many turn overs in the fourth quarter in a tight game.
this is awkward
So if Giannis went from the Bucks to GSW and wins a ring, should we blame Tony Snell, Thon Maker, Delly ,Brogdon, etc. for Giannis not winning a ring ??
They act like Durant wasn't putting these numbers throughout his career, a reminder that he is a four time league scoring champion would be appropriate. Yes Brodie's style of play is a little selfish, but let's not act like it was all Westbrook's fault.
Durant choked along with Russell that 3-1 lead that they held against GSW.
Dammit if you put Greg Oden on the Warriors he'll win a ring.
Samer Kammoun Difference between Greg Oden and KD is that The Warriors win the championship with KD. The same cannot be said with Greg Oden.
Samer Kammoun did you compare Greg Owen to kd sit down. kd makes the warriors look unbeatable
Samer Kammoun They act like KD didn't stink up the WCF last year after being up 3-1.
the waiter He didn't say replace KD with Greg Oden he said that if you put him on the Warriors, Oden would be a champion.
u stupid? the bucks arent even a contender rofl. durant shouldve went to the finals last year and they went to the finals several years ago. and durant choked that 3-1 by himself. esp game 7. he is 100% to blame for that. multiple turnovers and missed shots in the final few minutes. and if im not mistaken, a 5 second violation when hes inbounding the ball? with like a min left? thats choke city. 100% his fault
Westbrook, Paul George, Anthony Davis and Demarcus cousin should form a team because why not?
RedTV101 that low-key is the only option cap wise. He should go to the pels.
Stephen A Smith Yes but the west already has some competition. Give LeBron some more competition out east. Stop making it easy for this guy to get to the finals every year!
RedTV101 yea would be cool but what team is interesting enough? maybe Miami? PG, Russ and DMC would be nasty
RedTV101 What COMPETITION DOES THE WEST HAVE?!?!
Warriors litterally swept everyone in the Western conference smh!
RedTV101
Bring them all to the Lakers lol, since PG and Russ are L.A. Boys anyways.
Real Reactions realist comment on here
Real Reactions first person i've seen that realizes this
Jay Complex Kid Randle im a okc fan , not one of these casual viewers, i hate when the media does shit like this.
Master Ark im a okc fan bro, i hate how the media picks and chooses the narrative.
I'm sure you just made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know that the Westbrook injury was in 2013 and ibaka injury was in 2014
There's a deeper message if you ask me.
You obv a gsw hypebeast lmao
Dead Memes LMAO
I am not even a fan of GSW.
It's ok. The message went over your head.
Roberto Williams not trying to be a hard but in other words you are saying it's OK to give up than to persis cause I don't buy what you are selling, i m in a similar position not basketball wise, now I have a job offer that is willing to pay me more than my current one but I wouldn't be able to continue to pursue my computer study, and there are countless other that has not switch just to make it easier just watch dirk nowizki took him over ten years to win his first ring so the point than I making is that the easy way is not always there for everyone and with Durant everyone saw it as the easy way out
Westbrook theory2.0
I completely understand your position.
Roberto Williams I agree but he had all he needed in OKC. You can't tell me they weren't the best team last year after going up 3-1 on GS.
The warriors have 4 all stars were they not suppose to win ??? Now it's all Westbrook fault he left when in reality kd just wanted a easy way to get a ring
Russ just had a son and will more than likely win the MVP when announced next week, do we really believe he's concerned at KD's decision from a year ago?
willemdee and will retire ringless fuck MVPs get a ring
willemdee he should be upset when it comes to basketball his son don't got nothing to do with this
FGE Gene He averaged 35 on the "best player in the league"
'Αλέξανδρος Ασλανίδης' no he wont. This man cant play with other superstars its just a fact. Never in my life did i see a man have 10 assist but also be as selfish as westbrook. He just cares about his spotlight only
yes
Max Keller man made an excellent point that most people aren't willing to make!! The part about taking one of the warriors allstars off their team
U gotta change Russ. If you wanna recruit guys and win chips, u gotta be way less selfish and not too Ball centric.
#1 Thunder Fan he's the point guard so he needs the ball
Thunder Up Westbrook has low 4th quarter iq he plays 1 on 5 and hero ball he needs to change
Ray rob he was the best player in the fourth quarter this season and has no one else who can really create their own shot
#1 Thunder Fan he averaged 11 assist a game how is he ball centric
I agree with Max if Westbrook had a big three he would have win a ring too.
David Joseph in 2012 he had that big 3... he just chucks them out of every game after that g1 win.
Jayde Dragon they were young at this time
Jayde Dragon like how he drop 43 and okc lost Russ fault?
Jayde keep in mind that James harden was not as good as he is now. In addition James Harden choke in the final that year.
Why don't we just put Lebron, Durant, Westbrook, Harden, CP3, Carmelo, Hayward, Paul George all on the same team so they can all win a championship smh
lmaoooo
Because something called cap space exists.
z string the inability to detect or pickup on sarcasm is a sign of intelligence, or rather, lack thereof smh
TheIVth lmao might as well
Skip Payless lmao you're**
Man I cannot wait for next season so many stories and can the Warriors and Cavs meet up again.
Now that is food for thought.
i swear max everytime points out that 'the last shot takes the open man'
wasn't kd a star in okc? didnt he win scoring titles? how did westbrook hold him back from playing his game or shining? and Westbrook also finished 3rd in league with assist (10.4) sooooo...selfish???
william mancia That was in spite of Westbrook. Not BECAUSE of Westbrook.
It's easy for KD to be "that dude" when you're playing with the 2x MVP and 2 other All-stars. This is a ridiculous argument.
Tbh if Durant wasn't on the warriors this year LeBron would had his 4th ring
AJTHEBEAST 26 Fact
AJTHEBEAST 26 wrong cause Spurs would've won
Mr Bossman Are u sure cause even without kd the warriors would have beat a Spurs team without khawi
Westbrook- (*calls KD*)
Kd-answers phone
Westbrook- you still up?
Tha Goat hahahaha
hey, big head 😂
fuck all the salty ass comments these are what TH-cam comments are meant to be 😂
I don't get it
Tha Goat what does that mean
The NBA should troll and make the warriors first game against the thunder so the ring ceremony can be held infront of russell 😂
Almighty Sosa that would be Amazing 😫😫😫😫😫
Almighty Sosa 😂😂😂 Russ gon drop 60 points after that.
Almighty Sosa russ gone drop 75 that night
CRYSTAL HALL yeah but would also lose by 35
lil ty people have said that about every game the warriors and thunder played last year but Russell played like trash in all of them. no doubt Russell is the MVP though
It would be insane if the went to the Cavs... Imagine the finals between Russ & LeBron vs Durant & Curry
he don't care. KD took the easiest path in history to a ring.
did lebron have an easy path with the heat? did rodman have an easy path with the bulls? did magic Johnson take the easy path when he joined the already super team Lakers? NO!!! nothing is set in stone. the greatest player in the world was waiting for kd in the East. kd outplayed James and was much more clutch than James.
Know you facts before you start talking
dacosta smith how you know he don't care. Don't be speaking for other people
Yes, selfless play is preferable, but there are plenty of teams/players that don't operate that way and win.
If OKC had shooters like Curry and Thompson next to Westbrook and Durant they would of have a ring by now and that's facts
Are you seriously telling a grown man how to feel about something?
My okc dream team:
PG: Russel Westbrook
SG: Victor Oladipo
SF: Rudy Gay
PF: Anthony Davis
C: Joel Embiid
Doubt it will happen💀
I don't see Russ fitting in no super team no matter the players involved, the volume of shots Russ takes, the fierce nature he displays, and the confidence he carries himself with just seems old-school and no superstar player in this current NBA seems like a perfect fit for him. I hope KD winning a ring can be the ultimate motivation for Russ.
lmao Russ 18.1 shots per game for career LBJ 19.6 shots per game for career. Yea you make a lot of sense.
resColts I don't get the point your trying to make, Bron been in the league for 14 years Russ for 9 years. That's 5 more years then Russ and only a difference of 1.5 shots. If your smart enough to differentiate that you would know Russ numbers will increase to waaaaay more than the 19.6 shots Lebron has takin in 14 years.
Ace Da Shoota Yes but lebron is not the point guard
Lorenzo Stewart that's what I meant to say, he's already takes a lot for a 9 year vet though and they will only increase throughout the years.
Ace Dollaz he's struggling with his superteam right now
Max's arguement about putting Draymond on OKC was genius
He should take a pay-cut, and find a way to get on the Cavs. That would be epic.
AR XV HELL NO
AR XV hell yes. I'm a lebron fan and if Westbrook came to Cleveland I would usually see that as a weak move but in this case I wouldn't care because since the warriors want to build a super team, we should be able to also
that wouldn't work lol
AR XV Teams need chemistry to win dude. This Westbrook to Cleveland talk is trash.
Damn Max Kellerman is getting better. That Draymond green analogy was nice.
Its the organization fault OKC never had real shooters on there team when they had Durant and Westbrook so its not the players fault, its the GM and Owner fault
he should feel motivated... like a competitor, gotta be willing to change a little for the better of the team though, gotta be more efficient
Russ would prefer being the MVP every year as opposed to be with another star and heading towards the Chip. He is that fucking selfish.
can ulker your fucking stupid as fuck, I just want you to know that
can ulker just delete your account and never go on TH-cam again
can ulker he had a star but that bitch left him
people with all their hate towards KD (myself somewhat included, because it was a weak move) never took the time to notice how classy KD has been about westbrook...he never badmouthed him or blamed his selfish play as the reason for leaving, even though that was clearly a factor...the warriors are not only much more talented, their team culture is the opposite of hero ball playing OKC
Russel doesnt need to be sad. He just won the SHAQTIN MVP 2016-2017. Kevin Durant must be proud. lmao
IOS In-app Review KD won a ring with the team that beat him smh. I'm sure Westbrook must be proud of KDs competitive nature smh,
IOS In-app Review Westbrook also won the regular season MVP and now has a child to take care of. He ain't sad about anything and KD probably is happy for him.
IOS In-app Review and he's gonna win NBA MVP too
Dude the thunder, tru but...your name says it all 😂
oh wow shaqtin mvp , make sure you come back to this comment section win he wins reg season mvp aswell so you can cry
Golden State plays a beautiful style of ball. Movement, passing, defense. If nothing else, KD must be having a blast playing there. Would never have happened in OKC with Westbrook. Congrats KD!
wtf...wow kd really had an upset win over the Cavs. Any star could win on gsw.
He should be happy, it got him a MVP + triple double record in single season and got Durant a Ring + Finals MVP
How about Lebrun going to thunder?!
Max Chao That will be amazing
Max Chao why would he give up a his big 3 for only Westbrook
There is no way Lebron would go to the West. Dude is too comfortable feeding on the pathetic Eastern teams. Also, he already has a similar player in Irving who can shoot 3's better than Westbrook.
Silehnt Without Lebron in the East who the hell can win a Championship?? Raptors? Wizards? Celtics? Hell no. If he went to the West the league would be unbalanced because The West would win every year.
Silehnt Magic Johnson is working on it as we speak! PG and LBJ Lakers 2019?
"You did it for the land, I did it for the check in my hand" ;)
If they think Westbrook gives a shit they in for a sad realization. Durant left because he was a bitch and didn't want to elevate his game. When they were up 3-1 on the Warriors where was Durant. When they were in the finals where was he at? When Westbrook went down where did he take the reins and take command of the team. Durant knew good and well he needed to step up if he wanted to be in the same league as LeBron and Kobe. But he wanted to stay the same and everything around him change. Westbrook bodies Curry every opportunity he gets and we here pretending Curry is some top level PG. Congrats to Durant for getting what he wants but everybody knows this championship doesn't move anybody's opinion on him
Steven Weech reasons KD left
1. to get a ring
2. westbrook
to answer all your questions:
1. averaging 30 ppg with only 1 bad game (game 6) the whole series
2. averaging 30+ ppg on lebron (who was one of the top defenders during that time)
3. led the thunder to 2nd seed and became mvp
also curry eats westbrook every time they play. westbrook can't even sniff 50 wins when KD went down in 2014-15 or when KD left his ball hogging ass in okc.
westbrook can have all the stats he wants. he aint winning shit playing like this
qjdivina W
Steven Weech Facts
Steven Weech Nigga KD was killing the entire league without Russ in 2014 what are you talking about? They were 20-7 in the 27 without Russ. Russ will NEVER go 20-7 in a 27 game stretch without KD. NEVER in his life
He should come to Houston we have so many shooters and james harden who has developed since his OKC days
Westbrook will never win regardless of who you put around him
Westbrook got his MVP, triple double record and most statistically impressive season of all time. So now he can focus on changing things up. Russell isn't dumb, he'll definitely do things differently.
he doesnt care
Westbrook is a superstar. He does it all because he has to. His supporting cast ain't cutting it...The first round of the playoffs proved that..
OKC = worst management in team sports history hands down. Ibaka, Durant, Harden, Reggie Jackson, Dion Waiters smh. Shoulda stayed dey ass in Seattle
John Davis Look up the Sacramento Kings my friend
John Davis Nets and Knicks are also pretty bad ^^'
John Davis but the bulls are hands down the worst
Kumbert Joehl-Lee yeah da Knicks n Nets are pretty bad but they never had those caliber players and lost them for nothing!!
Kobe James bulls have 6 chips man come on
He said he wants to stay in OKC at least until his contract terminates, he will be talking to his GM or making calls to make build a better team in the summer.
Bingo.
he should be thanking kd for letting him hold the ball 24/7 and being the man. No more sharing for him, padding his stats every game, just the way he likes it.
Westbrook shouldn't be impressed... if they added Westbrook to the warriors instead of Durant it would have been the same result. Actually if they added any superstar player it would be the same result. Nothing special.
nutz2001 Westbrook wouldn't fit in gsw
no way that would work, Russ is a ball hog
Ah you do realize Westbrook and Durant are two completely different style of players right he wouldn't work in gs
Dennis Gatere he's a ball hog because who should he give the ball on the thunder??
Random Gamer there is a nice explanation of why his stats don't help his team done by bballbreakdown. Search that channel, no point in lengthy explanations here when he did it better than I could
They should have the ring 💍 ceremony for Golden State Warriors right before they play Oklahoma City.
Russ is NOT a real team Player, he's more ego driven, not to say he doesn't want to win...he doesn't really know how to though. He's an individual player whose personal stats are seemingly more important than his team winning. He's that player that's like "Yea we lost, but I had 45"😂😂😂
B HANK lol
- Kevin Durant (28.4 points per game) and LeBron James (28.3 ppg) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in NBA playoff history in playoff scoring average.
Rank, Player, PPG
1. Michael Jordan, 33.45
2. Allen Iverson, 29.73
3. Jerry West, 29.13
4. Kevin Durant, 28.44
5. LeBron James, 28.28
*Minimum 25 games or 625 points scored
The media is funny as hell...how are you gonna say HOW should a person fell to get a rise out of them.....WTF
Billy Donovan has been the Thunder head coach since last year, not Scott Brooks
Kevin durant jersey number is 35.
When you split these two numbers you get 3 and 5.
Wait..lebumm finals record is 3-5 , coincidence? probably
OpuTheChild LeBron*
you spelt "lechoke" wrong.
LeBron has 3 rings when u put that next to kds rings it's 3-1. the lead he blew against the team he joined a year later...what a bitch.
Dan The man. Also kevin durant wear the number 35 get it 35
Lebitch Lames is 3-5 inna finals
Fresh Out yes but....but that's still 2 more rings than KD...
Westbrook is the Allen Iverson of this generation. Underappreciated, public opinion is bad, yet most entertaining player in the league and his fans will never forget like they never forgot A.I.
Westbrook should find a way to join the Spurs 💯
Larriors Blew a 3-1 Lead they have like 50 mill in cap space, it's possible
Stephen A Smith if they get rid of many players
Hell NO.
He wouldn't fit.
Stephen A Smith I can't see him getting yelled out by pop
thank you Max
why do it feels like KD o OKC a ring. I never seen him play this great. it's like a divorce or sum shit
Westbrooks attitude on the court no shits given honestly!
Kd M.V.P
Cavs starting 5 next year: Kyrie at the 1, Paul George at the 2, Bron at the 3, Melo at the 4, Ibaka at 5
Westbrook to Pelicans! lmao
Justin Diaz Put any good PG on that team and they'll be a serious contender because they have the best PF and C
JC Robles but no bench
JC Robles best PF is Draymond green
Delonte [W]est fuck outta here wit that comment😂😂😂
Steph is trash
Yur i so does your mom
Yannick Bryant curry had a 8 turnover game on a stack team, russ had no 8 turnover game in the playoffs last year
Ballin Too McGee 1 ring, Westbrook 0
Put Steph on any other team, he wouldn't be as good. He is in the perfect situation because he can run down court and throw up threes all game. He can go 1 for 10 in a night and the warriors would still win. He couldn't do that on any other team
THAT HAIRLINE THO 📏
Lol right?
Zoe don't be speaking for our people. Maybe he does care and cries every night because he lost in the first round
"our people" what are you talking about? Your European, get the fuck out my country you immigrant.
Zoe i feel the same way but how the fuck European porzingis some how translate to him being a nigga please respect melanin
Winning championships with strangers is much better than losing with family that you known for years, without a championship. Which one is more suitable of pleasing the haters on this topic?
They should just play the all star game and crown the nba title to the winner. The new NBA.
Max is so wrong... didn't shoot a game winner in game 3.... the guy can create his own shots so all that KD wanting to play for an unselfish team is st8 up bs
Murphy Jones i mean they are kinda unselfish. did you see how they made every other play so kd could get a wide open 3 when they needed it
Murphy Jones y dey announcing the mvp so late
Von dee bro I was wondering the same thing... Nd didn't the league claim the votes are already in... Idk man shits strange
Murphy Jones KD dropped I think 29 and shot above 50% in game 7 last year.
I lost it at 1:07 abaababa 😂😂😂
Hero Ball only works when you are a HOF talent. Westbrook is an overrated stat padder.
jujurawks How are you overrated averaging 32-10-10 smh
Abdirazak Warsame 32-10-10 on 24 fga per game on 42% shooting - 42% usage rate - less contested 3s than deandre jordan plus his big men boxing out for him.
jujurawks the fact u don't think Russ is a hall of fame talent says alot about your eyes lls
qjdivina 46 wins last year okc won 55
Ballin Too That's cute. Couldn't get 50 wins in 82 games but Durant lead OKC to 20 wins in 27 without Russ in 2014.... Gtfoh he ain't on Durant's level.
The thumbnail says it all
It's not like OKC was trash last year
First Steve A was on Westbrook nuts, now he's riding with Durant. Westbrook is League MVP
Blood sweat and tears is a brotherhood. He should be happy for his brother. He should also feel challenged. Sibling rivalry on, time to step up.
He should go to Cleveland, that'd be the ultimate revenge , especially if they could beat GS next year.
kawhi and westbrook in okc would be such a great story and theyd challenge gsw for sure
"Now I do what I want, now I do what I want."
-Russell "No Effs Given" Westbrook
they have to build around him like Philly built around AI when they went on their run
I've been saying this for a long time..Management was playing favorites between Durant and Westbrook. And the disdain for them because they let Harden go...I'm from OKC
MJ? doesn't pass enough (5 assists)
LBJ? doesn't score enough (27 pts)
Kobe? doesn't pass at all! (5 assists)
Russ? doesn't pass enough (10 assists)
WTF DO YOU PEOPLE WANT!? A LEGENDARY GAME EVERYTIME?
Westbrook can have a dream team around him. And still, you know those 4/18 in the 4th can happen.
He should feel like leaving cause he's not winning in OKC. F--k loyalty. That's gets you nowhere when you ringless at the end of your career
you know it's a slow news day when they are trying to tell athletes how they should feel about another athlete
Look at what happened when OKC played the rockets, every time Westbrook sat out the lead was taken away.
