    Izzy gets way to much hate. Never turns down any fight and is a winner. His fighting style can be unappealing depending on who he fights. Who wouldn’t want to walk out of a championship fight relatively untouched. I really respect the way he’s been handling himself before this fight. Not a lot of talk just wants to go win

      @Oodles of Noodles he’s backed it up in the ufc bro. I fully disagree. You can’t just use his last few fights to judge properly.
      And he doesn’t talk the biggest game at all. There are guys who talk a bigger game every single fight and lose.
      Ofc when he’s at press conferences for his most recent fights, he’s gonna have to try and “sell” the fight since he’s already beaten the opponents. What’s the motivation there?
      Usman’s most recent defeat is exactly why Izzy is smart for what he does. Nobody is talking about how Usman was dominating most of the fight until the last minute, putting on the pressure etc. all they say is they are glad he got humbled and knocked out.
      Same thing would happen with Izzy. Doesn’t matter if he brings it or not.

    What he said about needing two to tango is complete facts. Adesanya had some amazing performances in his way to the belt; Brunson, Gastelum, Whittaker 1. He's the champ now and yeah, he's been playing it safe as he should. If his opponent engages, he's more than willing to trade back but no-one wants to engage with the best kickboxer in the UFC, can't blame them.

      Nah. He could run and use range against Romero, Vettori, Cannonier. His experience on the feet is void against Perriera, he has had a striking advantage against everyone other fighter. He will be forced to engage Alex because of his range and height.

      The criticism is fair. Like you said he’s “playing it safe as he should”. He admits not wanting to take risks in this interview. So doing that will bring criticism. But he shouldn’t care (but he does) and just keep winning. It was the same way with gsp. When you’re considered top 3 p4p people have different and somewhat unreal expectations. This is all normal stuff. But he has a real challenge vs alex. People talk about how new alex is to mma but I don’t see that mattering in this fight. And when was the last time izzy fought a striker remotely close to alex in mma? Never.

  • @Ar1AnX1x
    @Ar1AnX1x 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

    I don't get why people don't blame Izzy's boring fights on the opponent as much as him
    I mean if a fight is boring both of them are responsible, when a Counter-Striker starts moving forward and power puncher Jared starts backing up and counter-striking and playing it super safe then I blame him more than Izzy tbh.

      There are plenty of champions in combat sports history that the fans did not want to see fall. The reason Adesanya gets hated on so much is because he is coveting the belt and doing the bare minimum to defend it. I will give him credit, he has figured out the touch and go, distance style but fans come to fights to see a fight not a point scoring contest.

    As much as I like Adesanya and even though I think he'll win, I think he'll actually "lose".
    If Adesanya doesn't finish it, they might give a decision to Pereira unless he wins every round very convincingly.
    Adesanya has already lapped the division. There's literally nobody in middleweight that's challenging him. More than that, a lot of the audience think he's a snooze fest.
    There's a reason Dana put in Pereira for the title shot so early.
    I honestly think there will be a bias against Adesanya. The middleweight division is so dead right now. A Pereira win would really shake things up and put some interest back into middleweight division unfortunately. After seeing yan vs o'malley I don't think something like this would be such a stretch.
    Does Pereira deserve the title shot? No. Will he deserve a win? I'm going to guess no.

    • @kells2305
      @kells2305 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A piece of advice. Look at the numbers (money) the UFC is bringing in off of Izzy and then formulate a new opinion. You're being hypothetical with a business choice when you don't have to. There's literal context for you to know the impact Izzy is having on the business for Dana which is why Dana values Izzy. Your comparison to Yan and O'Malley is a perfect example of Sean's impact on the business versus Yan's. Yan is a phenomenal fighter but doesn't impact the business in any other way. The people that call Izzy a snooze fest is because he basically promised he would be spectacular when he wasn't and majority of people that complain actually don't comprehend the technicalities of Izzy's footwork, distance control, and craftiness.

    • @DivineAtheistWannabe
      @DivineAtheistWannabe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kells2305 what's going to make more money tho.
      A stagnant middleweight division with no real challengers left. Izzy walking outcto undertaker then every news headline calling it a snooze fest and even Dana trying to reassure people "the next fight won't be boring".
      Or pereira winning controversially. New challengers. And adesanya vs pereira doing a trilogy fight. More good fight content for a couple years to come.
      Adesanya doesn't necessarily need the belt to make the UFC money (conor mcgregor didn't). If pereira loses ppl probably gonna stop caring about him and be like "ok who else do we have that can maybe beat adesanya". With pereira winning people will be curious what else this man has. Was it lucky, how will he do against different fighters etc. All the while keeping an eye on adesanya fights to watch his return and hyping up pereira vs adesanya 2.

    Casuals call Izzy boring. And they're actually not wrong. He is. However your in luck. Because there will be no grappling exchanges at least voluntarily. Also Izzy cannot be boring In this fight and still be a champion afterwards. The winner of this fight will be the guy who throws first. You hear alot of coaches screaming "you got to be first" and the winner will be who throws first. Because of how good they both are in kickboxing both men will land accurately.. and if Alex lands and Izzy checks that pereria left hook with his chin, it's nighty night. The winner of this fight will need to send his opponent into the shadow realm.
    Izzy is going to ko this dude via head kick.
