Very informative especially shedding light on the realities of working in a SNF. I'm currently in exploratory stage with a prospective employer in a SNF. Mejo kinabahan ako sa NPR hahaha, I don't have any bedside experience since nasa Occupational Health ako matagal and only a few months of HD exposure. Thank you sa insights.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. More videos like this. More power to your channel.

Hello sir Daniel and sir Aaron. I also work in a skilled nursing facility in PA. I am into my 2nd month now and it feels like it's been 2 years. 😁 My preceptor was a Filipina nurse who was super patient with me. I don't have one permanent unit assigned to me. For 2 days in a week I'll be in the mech vent unit and the rest of the week I will be in the LTC unit. It's a physically exhausting job but definitely a fulfilling one. Shoutout to all SNF nurses!!! 🥰
I advise you both to work in a hospital and continue your gradute studies while young… most of the hospitals are offering tuition fee reimbursement for both Masteral and doctorate degrees!
Thank you so much sa informations. Na appreciate ko talaga most especially that I will be working in the Nursing Skilled Facility soon. Question ko what are the diff.
Pare, just google "common medications for skilled nursing facilities" lalabas na yun. Accurate yun! By the way, hope you sign with my newsletter to get more infos. Ingat bro!
Thank you very informative and inspiring as well. My name is Anne. I am using my son's account kasi di ako techy savy😁
sinacrifice ko talaga ang sarili ko dati na mag karoon ng bedside nursing and back then 5 thousand lang lahat ang take home pay ko , pang bili lang talaga ng lipstick at candy . Pero it paid off when i get here as a bedside nurse .
Just an advice to all new nurses. I hope you are contributing to your 401k or 403b to at least get the max employer matching %. This is a benefit that you will be thankful for going into retirement and it can lower your tax rate esp if you do not have much deductions like children or a mortgage. Goodluck. Be wise with your finances. 😊
@@NursePhotographer You can also contribute to an IRA whether traditional or Roth. It depends on your goals. Traditional can be a tax deduction but when you withdraw funds later, it will be taxable. Roth is after tax money so your investment grows tax free. If your spouse is not working or does not have a workplace tax deferred retirement acct, you can open a spousal IRA for her. So many choices. But of course, make sure you have enough savings first for emergency fund before investing. A HYSA is also good to keep as this gives more interest than a regular SA. Goodluck on your financial success/freedom journey.
I was given an offer sa North Dakota, long term care. Initial salary of 29.96/hr (1.5 years experience). Is the pay around the ballpark as yours?
Wages are relative to your location so really cannot compare it even with similar years of experience. SNFs are commonly short staffed and a liability potential. I encourage you to invest in protecting yourself with a professional liability insurance.
Yo Win, kaw ba nag message sakin? Try to check FLC data center bro or post mo sa Lefora. Mas matutulungan ka nila there.
Struggle nila to land a job in US since non BS siya. Some hospital consider it as Acute while some Ok for ED. Thanks

siguro maganda din na tanong is worth it ba na ipursue ang american dream ? since nabanggit na wag masyado mag expect.. so meaning its not all that.. so kung worth it ba or makikita ba nila ang sarili nila na babalik pa ng pilipinas or magretire sa pinas?
Yes. It is worth it. It is a big leap but do it, not only for yourself but for your children and family. And personally, since most of my family is here in the US, I will not go home to the Philippines to retire. I have not been home much. Last time I went home, the processes and red tape really frustrated me. When you are used to the efficiency here, even just checking out at the grocery, you will be frustrated at how slow people move there in general. Just my opinion. Hopefully this is helpful.
Yes worth it. Kaya importante na that nurses land a work here with the "RIGHT" employer because huge impact talaga sa buhay. Hope you sign in my newsletter to get my ebook guide for free! =)
Ok lang to start tiaga habang bata ipon. Naka relay ako sa inyong experience. I’am a retired RN from US but now living here in pinas for good. Nag start din ako sa SNF then nag proceed to a Level 1 Trauma hospital till my retirement. 😂
SNFs are usually understaffed and ride your license. No matter how much they pay you, it is not worth the liability, stress, and often you will encounter ethical issues when it comes to patient care.
