Common Cranes Extremadura, Spain

The sound of Common Cranes is so evocative.
These birds were part of the wintering population that chooses to spend their time in Extremadura in southwest Spain. This region is the winter home to around 160,000 Common Cranes - the biggest population in Spain.
The birds emanate from northern Europe.
