- I recently spent 6 days completing Taiwan’s famed North First Section. This breathtaking trail measures approximately 66km and takes in eight of Taiwan’s 100 Peaks, including the majestic Mt. Zhongyangjian (中央尖山).

The Trail
Accommodation on the trail needs to be booked in advance. You can reserve cabin and tent space in advance in Taroko Park on the National Park website:

Transport:
The trailhead is located at Shengguang (勝光).
To get there you can take the 1751 bus from Yilan (宜蘭) to Lishan (梨山) and disembark at stop 73 - Shengguang (勝光).
The fare is around NT$300 (US$9) and will take around 2-3 hours.
There is also the 1764 bus from Luodong.

That was a pretty epic hike Richard , a bit of mountain climbing too , well done . I don't think it was solo though due to all the other trekkers around but good in case something went wrong . I think you could have talked a bit more but your the director , so be it :-)
Thanks. I went on my own, but it's a pretty busy hike so I ended up walking the same itinerary as a group of 10. Not much I can do about that. I explain everything and talk about the hike next week.
