I have watched this video many times and her speech is only getting better and better each time. For an Australian to learn Danish 99% correct (I'm Norwegian) is an accomplishment like no other. I understand, but I don't have her excellent pronunciation. On top of being both beautiful and accomplished she has the rare gene of being Royal without being born into it. She has amazing taste and grace. The only other I can think of is Katherine the Duchess of Cambridge.

I loved Crown Princess Mary’s speech. You can see and feel the emotion from Crown Prince Frederik. So grateful that they found one another. I loved the humor, I loved how Mary fully encompassed her husbands life. My favorite part was when Mary asked her children why they love their father....that to me was so thoughtful and....just made sense. I too, am so grateful these two had that fateful encounter in Sydney. I have been a fan ever since and they seem to be still so much in love. Thank you for posting this. When she came as Mary Donaldson she was welcomed by and large the whole of Denmark, and look at her now!! In her wedding speech to her son and daughter-in-law Queen Margrethe II said something quite extraordinary to Mary: "May we always be worthy of your trust".

Crown Princess Mary is quoting both Søren Kierkegaard (Danish philosopher who found his contemporary Hans Christian Andersen [The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Mermaid, The Snow Queen, etc] too childish and lightweight), Tove Ditlevsen (Danish author/poet/committed su|c|de), Simple Minds (Scotland, "All the Things She Said"), and maybe others I didn't catch.
As has probably been mentioned already, Crown Prince Frederik was trained as the equivalent of a Navy Seal, which was a secret until it was over and done with. I remember seeing on TV him being underwater and holding his breath for five full minutes. As I understood it, that was his last test, and was televised a few months after the test.
And then he did some awesome things in Greenland 🇬🇱 (part of the Danish Kingdom and a close neighbor of Northern Canada 🇨🇦). Which gave him a deep love for Greenland and good friends up there. And he always tears up when meeting his old friends (Inuits) from Greenland, and (almost) hugs them to death. :)

Today (Oct 15, 2023) we celebrated the 18 year birthday of their oldest son, prince Christian. 200 young ordinary people from all corners of the country were invited, and mingled all evening with royals. They all shared a table with a Danish or foreign prince or princess. Must have been quite special.
The royals of the three Scandinavian countries (Denmark 🇩🇰, Norway 🇳🇴 and Sweden 🇸🇪) are inter-married and family anyways, so a lot of those. But others too.
I've read that she learned Danish upon moving to Denmark and she mastered it . The dedication 😢. This speech is everything!
Actually the lessons in danish started before she moved to denmark. Before moving there, she was in france for a while.

I have watched this video many times and her speech is only getting better and better each time. For an Australian to learn Danish 99% correct (I'm Norwegian) is an accomplishment like no other. I understand, but I don't have her excellent pronunciation. On top of being both beautiful and accomplished she has the rare gene of being Royal without being born into it. She has amazing taste and grace. The only other I can think of is Katherine the Duchess of Cambridge.
I agree with you in everything you say and by the way everything about them is very similar. If you didn’t know you would think they were two sisters and both their husbands are proud of them. When wives or husbands love their other half like this it’s not hard to love them back. May God richly bless both of these couples.

I say this with humility. It is true. One has to know the language. There are certain phrases or words or even the language itself may not or it does not even come close to being fully translatable.

I have taught speech and theater on the college level, as well as have directed plays ( usually Shakespeare) on a community level. Mary’s delivery was flawless. Had she chosen a theatrical career she would have been a TTiana, a Lady Macbeth, a Cleopatra, a Gertrude for the ages.
I was swept away by the love and respect spoken of and shown When I reflect on the recent comments made by another, albeit newcomer, to a monarchy, this gracious queen’s speech becomes even more sweet and poignant.
