One of the most genuine, heartfelt expressions of love that I’ve ever heard. The words, the delivery, the honesty, the tone & timbre make it one for the ages. It was simply beautiful. Brava Princess!
Yes. I am British and I have never heard a Royal woman accomplish something like this. Her poise and communication skills in a tongue not her native one just blows me away. She is not only a stunner but she is really really intelligent!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Watching the loving expressions of all their family and friends was truly beautiful.
Mary of Tasmania: Being able to get your mother-in-law (the Queen of Denmark) to grin like this AND bring your husband to tears is solid evidence that you are worthy of whatever your future brings. Even more important: This speech - in flawless Danish - proves that you have mastered the most elusive talent of all: Danish humour!
Having come from Australia myself, I am always amazed at the way that Europeans learn to speak English so competently.. I have heard Queen Margarethe answering questions from the public and slipping with seeming ease from Danish to English to German and goodness knows what else! English speakers expect everyone else to know their language. I must say that it is useful as a world language. I observed that when that plane went missing in the Indian Ocean, with people on board on a number of mainly Asian nationalities, the common language in which the families or representatives made their enquiries was English.
I have the most utmost respect for Crown Princess Mary. She left her native county, learned a difficult language, took the time to learn about her new culture and never complained about the difficulties of her new role. Denmark 🇩🇰
@@Michelle-oe7vr was she subjected to racist hatred from Denmark’s press. Would the Denmark monarchy have let it go uncommented upon if she had? I doubt it, Idk, doesn’t seem an apt comparison. No dis to Mary who does a difficult job w style and class. As an Australian, I’m very proud that of Princess Mary. It’s a fairytale of a commoner who became a princess & then becomes a queen. God bless this royal couple. May they enjoy good health, love & joy in their journey through life.
She's got an ordinary washer woman vibe but also has an inner grow that is above ordinary. Love and happiness (and a tiny bit of body sculpting lol) truly do enrich a person. Mary should do something global like become United Nation leader and donate all her riches to the poor.
This is my most favourite Royal couple in the world. What a wonderful, loving tribute by a lovely and beautiful Princess to her husband Prince Fredrik. The fact that she mastered the Danish language, which is arguably one of the most difficult language in the world, clearly shows how much she loves him and her new country. You could see that Prince Fredrik was blushing like a young boy when Princess Mary poke fun at him. And the audience were in stitches too. And the fact that Queen Margrete was smiling and beaming with admiration of her daughter in law throughout her speech shows that she is in awe of her. I pray to God that they will have a long and happy life together and continue to live in perfect health. Denmark is so lucky to have future King and Queen in waiting. God bless them both and God bless Denmark.
@@lindagusch2671 the pronounciation is quite difficult. But when one lives in a country one hears that language all the time and if you are a bit talented you'll learn it eventually. And don't step into her shoes; she would stampeed anyone on her way.. She is not going to give in on her family... She is dominant, yet a balance between the two... And there is simply no messing her family in anyway... She steps to make her presence felt with a quote "dare me!"...

Michelle Pamela , this is what we do here in Europe. I didn’t speak a word of German, when I came to Germany at age 29, but I have been fluent now for many years. When you’re hearing it all around you every day, it makes it easier too.
@Monica Fajardo That's true up to a point. It's a bit like music and maths. Some people's brains are wired to absorb some kinds of knowledge more easily than others. It's why some people have "maths brains", others have "language centric brains" and can analyse in numbers and mathematical conceptions or others are good at philosophy, history, literature and analysis expressed in language. If you have a "language brain" it gets easier to learn new languages the more languages you know. Chomsky proved this in his work on the grammatical structure of languages. When I was young, a young women came to me to ask me if she could come and have English conversation every day - we were in the same college. She grew up speaking Georgian and Russian. She had learned German, French and Italian before college and she was about 26 at the time. She took 6 weeks to become fluent speaking English and 4 months becoming a competent writer. She was doing her degree in philosophy and politics in English. She said knowing German made it easiest to speak English. In the second half of the year she learned Spanish and Swedish - she found native speakers to help. In one year she went from 5 languages to 8 and with Swedish it wouldn't be difficult for her to learn Norwegian and Danish. She wanted to move to Asian languages next. Mary had done top levels maths and science in high school which means she possibly had a more maths-centric brain. She had (maybe still does?) a Tasmanian centric quirk of pronunciation in English which is not the norm in general Australian English which she hadn't changed by the time she did the pre-wedding documentary about her life. Years spent in Melbourne and Sydney hadn't changed that by 2004. Our earliest language habits are the hardest to change if we don't have a brain which is wired for language. The Netherlands' Queen Máxima speaks native Spanish and learned English at school and to this day speaks a hotch potch of Dutch because she didn't persevere with it. Mary persevered and apparently speaks excellent Danish according to Danish friends of mine.
This is literally like straight out of the best romance books/movies etc. Proof that that kind of love does exist out there. You can see it in how they look at each other
And her gown tiara, the sash (is there another name for that?) everything about her, radiates old-style royalty but in a way that completely works today. I like Princess Catherine, and she has some fantastic gowns and outfits (her look at the queen's funeral was perfect) but I noticed that the women of the British RF do not wear gowns that look particularly "royal" the way this gown does. This is romantic.
@@finallythere100 I agree. Queen Elizabeth wore gowns much like that which Mary is wearing, sometimes magnificently beaded, but then, with Diana it became bout high fashion. The advantage of the Queen and Princess Mary is that both had/have beautiful upper chests, neck and shoulders, while Catherine is rather bony and less well suited to that type of dress. .

How did she learn Danish so fluently??
Having come from Australia myself, I am always amazed at the way that Europeans learn to speak English so competently.. I have heard Queen Margarethe answering questions from the public and slipping with seeming ease from Danish to English to German and goodness knows what else! English speakers expect everyone else to know their language.
I must say that it is useful as a world language. I observed that when that plane went missing in the Indian Ocean, with people on board on a number of mainly Asian nationalities, the common language in which the families or representatives made their enquiries was English.
@@lindagusch2671, there is only one way to achieve this: Total immersion in your new language.
You pu it so well. I am beyond impressed with her Danish but the love is so evident.
I have the most utmost respect for Crown Princess Mary. She left her native county, learned a difficult language, took the time to learn about her new culture and never complained about the difficulties of her new role. Denmark 🇩🇰

No dis to Mary who does a difficult job w style and class.

@@Lara-ri1lg the accent - yes, not the grammar ;)
Crown Princess Mary learned it so quickly and took Denmark to her heart and we love her dearly.
@@finallythere100
I agree. Queen Elizabeth wore gowns much like that which Mary is wearing, sometimes magnificently beaded, but then, with Diana it became bout high fashion. The advantage of the Queen and Princess Mary is that both had/have beautiful upper chests, neck and shoulders, while Catherine is rather bony and less well suited to that type of dress. .
@@MandyJMaddison - Yeah, D was young and dowdy, then realizing her glam side while still young. ..., I think that they'd just have to make gowns that suit Kate's figure. . Jubert Ong he is not shy , he is a just letting all others come before him , and can feel like he is shy , but that is not the case , he is a romantic man , he is crying during the whole speech ,and who can blame him .
Just beautiful!
I think he is more handsome now than their wedding.

I have watched this video more times than I can count. Their love should be counted among the greatest of love stories. And, I get teary every single time I watch it.
Crown Princess Mary is so beautiful , and it really has been love at first sight between them. I deeply admire how hard she has worked to enable herself to be so fluent in the Danish language, and of course to write it. Just listening to this speech you can tell how much of herself she put into it to amuse all the Danish court and attending friends. They have wonderful children, and set a great example to their children, and those around them….especially the people of Denmark. Well done Princess Mary. You have come an awful long way, but threw yourself into this new life with love and every atom of your being. Your mother in law is laughing, and loves you for yourself and making her son so
Happy. Godbless you, and all all of your family. Wishing you both a long and exceedingly happy life together! 😘😘❤️❤️🙋♀️🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎉🎊💐💐💐💐💐💐💐

❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is a man who is wholly in love with his wife and can't believe she feels the same way. Lovely to see a couple so much in love.
Geweldig
Mooi.
Prince and Princess are that sort of people who become even more handsome with age. Not many manage it, even very rich people.
What an elegant speech, she is amazing, and so well versed....Love them
Totally agree with you. She is a very beautiful woman and he a handsome man.
The fruit doesn't stray too far from the tree. The beautiful queen married a handsome consort.
So true. Mary hasn't aged since their wedding and Frederik is still a very handsome man. It must be the Scandinavian air :)

Just beautiful! She is a devoted wife who is still in love with her husband. May God bless them forever.
What a beautiful tribute to a man whose love for her and she for him shines as one of the greatest and most enduring love stories of our time. When Frederik told Mary "Come let us go, come let us see", I don't think they could even imagine the blessings God has stored up for them! Vibrant love spilled over to create 4 precious new lives they caught together in their arms to hold and mold with open affection and devotion! Eighteen years after a chance encounter they are still crazy in love! Beautiful to see from America!
her 3rd child was twins
Is there any man or woman on earth who want not want to be recipient of such a moving, loving, profoundly thoughtful speech? Crown Princess Mary's words say as much about her as they do about Crown Prince Frederik!.
She is an elegant lady, a wonderful mother, and loving wife. She is also a beautiful Princess who has made the Danish people very happy. Thank you Fredrick for sweeping her off her feet, and thank you Mary for saying yes. Mary has changed Danish history and will make a beautiful Queen one day.
I lik Mary-but I would not say she has changed our history in Denmark-she just fit right in
I watched this so many times over the past couple of years. I just love it. It's such a beautiful testament so eloquently spoken. I just adore her and him
The love, respect and well spoken admiration this woman has for her husband and his family is one of the best modern day love stories.
Very well said
You are really blessed if you find an educated woman with brains simple no hang ups and love really exist in both of them ,not thinking how to be rich but how to respect their love for each other their families.
Wonderful and substantial speech, it made me both laugh and cry. God bless this couple.
I don’t usually listen to speeches like this but it hooked me and was so beautiful, it moved me to tears! Your family is so blessed, and it is so nice to see people of your stature express genuine appreciation for it so beautifully! Congratulations!
Princess Mary has gone from commoner to Royalty and she did it with CLASS.. Stunning.
What an amazing woman !!! Total class and she speaks so fluently..
Doing Australia proud.
I don't speak a world of Danish but the sweet sentiment of this lovely speech comes across so loudly and clearly, no translation is needed.

That was some speech. Brilliant and to speak in Danish too is remarkable, as it is not her mother tongue. A credit to the Royal family and she has observed him so well. The ideal couple. It was a wonderful wedding.
I think I have watched this a dozen times! What a beautiful tribute to her husband. She is flawless in every regard. Now that is a true Princess. What a lovely human being. Beautiful family.
