Thanks Rich i knew if i wanted to get up some munros in winter and maybe even summit camp i would have to do something about my fitness.The stairs has worked well but need to do other things as well.Yeah Billy and me are up for some deep winter wild camping this winter.Some of the gear is ridiculously expensive but if you plan to go out in more extreme conditions its probably worth it.Atb Eddie.

Love that car park "rest and be thankful" Only the Scots could come up with a name like that, the trouble is it makes you want to get in the car and drive 350 miles its that beautiful. Thanks Tim yeah you get some fantastic views when driving up north. The" rest and be thankful " or if you saw our winter hike , " lets get in the car and get the hell out of here ". The cobbler is one i'll try solo probably , Billy prefers fast and light where I'm just slow. I wonder if the phantom is safe to fly at that altitude i haven't seen anyone flying one at say 3,000ft plus , now that would be views worth seeing. Atb Eddie.
Its the wind you have to watch with the phantom Eddie, once you get past 30mph it becomes unstable! the highest I have flown it is top of Blencathra 2800ft, the problem is if they fly off when your on a mountain it would be a nightmare to retrieve, looking forward to seeing you up the cobbler mate :) Tim

Hi Ben i was feeling good that day , i'm too old and not fit enough to carry weight up a munro when i'm not 100%. Its a good physical challenge and if its clear the views make it worth it.......the camera/laptop only gives you an image of it , when your there you get the scale , immense!!

Congratulations on your munro Eddie! Fantastic video! No complaints on the camera work or views from me, very beautiful! I hope your knees didn't give you trouble on the way down. I'm still struggling with this darn back of mine. I can't seem to get back to where I was a year ago, even rest don't help. At 61 years old with a lot of hard miles on my body this might be it. Scots Wildcamper One munro a month would be a heck of a workout! I went back and watched the video of you and Billy where you had to turn back, and those shots where Billy pressed on and you zoomed in on him really gives perspective to just how vast the highlands are! Thanks Mick i might get several more Munros/Corbetts or matts and ronnies as i call them done this year.Yeah i felt good going up, slow and steady and i reckon i could manage 40lb.......that what i took up Beinn na lap although thats only 1,700ft+ of ascent but i expect to get fitter now. Hello Eddie another great vid, ive been looking at quasers and ultra quasars for a few weeks now, and guess what I've just bought Bills tent about an hour ago. Looking forward to it arriving and getting up in the Cheviots this winter to test it out. I'll try and get into acting and directing mode to let you know how I get on. Cheers Mark.
Hi Mark Billy told me he sold the tent , as i said a real 2 man tent ,3 in an emergency and luxury for 1.The only thing i would say is be careful when feeding the poles in ,the sleeves are mess i think all the quasars are the same and i would advise to use the outer eyelets for the poles first and then see if you want to move the poles inwards this is just my observation from seeing it pitched i have no other experience of the tent.Once its up its bomber its a great tent.
Well Done Eddie another Munro conquered . That was a good idea walking up the steps to get your fitness back. The camp looked like had some good views once the weather cleared. It's good that you have Billy there to guide you on the hills and also cook your food. Lol Atb Glenn.
Yeah Billy is the chauffeur,chef and mountain guide.I'm the camera man i think that's fair lol. You don't need to go to gyms just walk up them stairs i'm aiming to get to 75 floors every second night that's about 800ft i guess,i'll start carrying some weight in about 5/6 weeks .Atb Eddie.
I do enjoy your vids and often feel I'm living on the wrong side of the border :) But I have to say, I do always follow your journeys using Google-earth which now show these locations in 3D Hi-definition.

That was a nice camp place..right on top..loved it..I have forgotten , do you take anything for heat in the winter? Like those packets that you can shake and they heat up and you put them all about your body inside your clothes... or do you just depend on what you are wearing to keep you warm? Of course your sleeping bag is warm too but I was wondering if you take any special gear to help with warmth? It is still hot as ever here .. in the 90's this week end ..heat warnings are out ..on the news not to go out and do anything in this heat.. the heat index is over 100 degrees F...So wish you could package up some cool or cold air and send it to Alabama..lol... looking forward to your next one.. glad this was easy for you..take care Maria
Hi Marie its still summer here although it felt like winter.Britain , Scotland especially has strange weather.When your at 3,000 ft it is colder than sea level and its windy which cools you down even more.No special gear just the correct clothing and a good sleeping bag and mat.Yes this one was ok for me i guess walking up a lot of stairs is working for me. Yeah chilly willy.......why don't we have penguins lol.Honest mate walking up stairs( about 60 every second night )i think is the best fitness training for munros.I didn't stop once going up ( just stopped when Billy did).It is boring and you will end up a bag of sweat but it has to be done , i felt it really helped me when slogging up the munro.I can't wait for the snow.I'll get my holidays sorted this sunday so i look forward to our trip.
Scots Wildcamper We surely cant get a winter like last year again. I was up the Chieviots with Mick and Gill a couple of weeks ago and that tested me. PURE QUALITY mate. Did you two sleep ok? Not sure I could sleep with Dave in a 2 man tent. How was Billy's snoring? The Quasar looks very similar to the Voyager but obviously a 2 man tent with and extra pole, looks very solid and well built. Sure he will get good money for it. Billy doesn't snore much and i'm the same , so its not to bad there.It makes sense sometimes to share a tent......save weight,you only need to find 1 decent pitch spot which can be a real problem also combine your stoves.Billy took msr whisperlite universal for meals and i took jetboil for hot drinks. The tent is sold already its a good one.I'll get round to using the go-pro headstrap , i watched you use it for descending Striding Edge great stuff.The beard is back. Atb Eddie.

Hi George yeah i was happy to get those views it didn't look promising for most of the time.The real scots wildcamper will be returning to your laptop soon.No the midges are still here , it can be a different climate up there but hopefully by october Scotland will be a midge free-zone.The Quaser is a true 2 man mountain tent but Billy has the Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 which i slightly prefer , both great tents .Atb Eddie.

Thanks Gerry i wanted to test my fitness , its ok but need a lot of work before winter.My aim is to winter summit camp. The vid wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be,i shot very little footage.....i usually shoot a lot and cut it right down.

Hi Ed as always great vids, there is a difference between being fit & being hill fit, you need to be up north at least once per month, I did the aonach eagach last month meant to be in summer conditions lol a long day out but great even if the weather was mince
I know what you mean i can't jog round the block but i did that ok , i didn't stop any more than Billy did.Yeah no gym for me just up a never ending flight of stairs.Need to do more big hills regular that's for sure.

14.01 Aye a wee bit chilly willie right enough in a 3 man tent! Nae guid eh lol! That go pro makes that tent look like a tardis! A fine effort Eddie. Watching this makes me think of my own fitness and abilities? November for sure and wee could try a Munro on the Gorms. I'm thinking by November it will be a lot colder by then.

Yeah chilly willy.......why don't we have penguins lol.Honest mate walking up stairs( about 60 every second night )i think is the best fitness training for munros.I didn't stop once going up ( just stopped when Billy did).It is boring and you will end up a bag of sweat but it has to be done , i felt it really helped me when slogging up the munro.I can't wait for the snow.I'll get my holidays sorted this sunday so i look forward to our trip.

We surely cant get a winter like last year again. I was up the Chieviots with Mick and Gill a couple of weeks ago and that tested me. I had to stop a few times then I got in my stride. Speak nearer the time Eddie, I think if we get the weather the Glen Doll trip will be fab. Not heard from Patrick for a while? I'll PM him. ATB..

PURE QUALITY mate. Did you two sleep ok? Not sure I could sleep with Dave in a 2 man tent. How was Billy's snoring? The Quasar looks very similar to the Voyager but obviously a 2 man tent with and extra pole, looks very solid and well built. Sure he will get good money for it. Billy doesn't snore much and i'm the same , so its not to bad there.It makes sense sometimes to share a tent......save weight,you only need to find 1 decent pitch spot which can be a real problem also combine your stoves.Billy took msr whisperlite universal for meals and i took jetboil for hot drinks. The tent is sold already its a good one.I'll get round to using the go-pro headstrap , i watched you use it for descending Striding Edge great stuff.The beard is back. Atb Eddie.

Billy is a bit of a gatling gun he will never slow down , i'll think about the subtitles. Gosh my secret is out i'm a posh Glaswegian , people address me as Sir Scots and everything lol. Hi George yeah i was happy to get those views it didn't look promising for most of the time.The real scots wildcamper will be returning to your laptop soon.No the midges are still here , it can be a different climate up there but hopefully by october Scotland will be a midge free-zone.The Quaser is a true 2 man mountain tent but Billy has the Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 which i slightly prefer , both great tents .Atb Eddie.
