I'm surprised you didn't address the anti semitic baggage of this text. This is one that if I preach on it, there is so much to be unsaid, that there's scarcely time to say anything.
Not saying Matthew was an anti Semite, but historically she of his texts have carried a lot of bad baggage.
Do you have to address other people's problems, their hangups and 'baggage'? Or can you not just open up the text as it stands?
