So next time Ralph has a theory…the team BETTER LISTEN TO HIM. Though I wanted Reverse Flash to escape…he's just an incredible character and Tom is an amazing actor.
I found it irritating how everyone was just dismissing him. I get that Cicada is their main concern , but it's not like the team has never sidetracked before.
I agree with what Eric said about them not subduing Cicada. Team Flash has bugged me a lot lately. Never seen a team of geniuses (mostly) make so many stupid mistakes/decisions. You know the teams in trouble when Ralph has been the smartest one lately.
@Donald Moxham It's ironic how we asked for non-speedster villains and when we get them the only thing stopping the heroes from defeating them is their own incompetence. How many chances did the team have to capture both Cicada's?
Right? Tie her up, pipeline, meta cuffs, anesthetic. Do anything, just have her break out of it because she's powerful, not wait for her to fucking wake up.
Anyone get sooo angry at how apparent it became this episode that the entire team takes Ralph for granted? All these doctors and scientists in a room, and none of them even considered sitting for a second to think this whole thing through aside from the sleazy detective the majority of the fandom hated last season.
BARRY TOTALLY RUBBED IT IN IRIS AND NORA'S FACE THAT EOBARD WAS TRASH ALL ALONG. *it will probably be a deleted scene* *I mean maybe not but totally should be*
Decent episode imo. the West-Allen Family drama stuff was alright , i can understand Barry and Iris being protective of Nora after the last episode , it felt like it mirrored real life in the sense of when the parents treat their child as they are still little when they are growing into adulthood , its letting them go so they can make their own decisions. i appreciate more what they have been trying to do with Nora after this episode , its having Barry and Iris go through different stages of parenthood with Nora starting out as a child and with this episode , becoming an adult and letting go of the anger she has had since she was a kid however i still think it could have been handled stronger then it was all season. The Joe stuff was nice , its funny to see him get a pep talk lol while the Sherloque stuff was fine , i think his relationship with Renee is kinda cute. However , my favorite part of the episode was Ralph figuring out Thawne's plan . the Thawne stuff has been the highlight of the season imo and i have liked them having toyed with the idea of Thawne maybe genuinely trying to find redemption on death row or manipulating Nora for his own means. I almost genuinely bought his redemption until they revealed Thawne was after Cicada's dagger to save himself , it just shows that while Thawne may care about Barry and Nora , his own self interest far outweighs that.
You Tube it seems the Dagger has been attached to him so by destroying it in the past then it won’t exist in the future to dampen his speed so he can then escape
@You Tube basically in the og timeline cicada(orlin) disappeared either by other means or killed by Grace. Thing is in the future when young grace becomes cicada she never finds the dagger until she comes back. The question was what happened to the dagger in the future without interference. Thawne's plan was to have Nora go back in time and stop cicada by getting rid of the knife which keeps his powers at bay
I actually never bought thawne redemption he was doing the his I love cisco and barry from season 1 to nora manipulating and than stab her again but the dagger being the object that damper his powers was a brilliant idea and thawne played everyone genius idea .
@You Tube Thawne's powers were being dampered by the dagger ever since he was in the cell. That's why Shecada said,"I didn't have the dagger from the time I'm from." Or something. So thawne needed Nora to go back in time to save here dad, leading to a cicada and the dagger being created. And the whole series was to get Team Flash to kill Cicada by destroying the dagger which would destroy the dagger attached to Thawne giving him his powers back to get out of prison and another shot to kill Barry.
I liked it when Orlin was Cicada because he was fighting for what he thought was right. Unless you got in his way he only targeted metas. Not saying he was right, but at least he had a morals. Grace abandons all of that on her rage filled meta hunt, which makes her boring.
How exactly do you write a compelling story about a man that can literally run in Flashtime, at the least without including Speedsters as the villain? Literally every single villain, even big baddie (save for speedsters), Flash can stop in the blink of an eye. Run around them, grab their hand, and slip the cuffs on them before they can even say "We are the Flash". The only way to actually make a story is to have Flash do things that doesn't make sense, to be his own worst enemy, in order to constantly give him challenges to overcome. It's what you get for making a show about a guy that can run 11 billion times the speed of light.
I mean, Cicada actually almost worked. The dagger disables powers in a radius, so if Barry just tried to do that, his speed would go away as soon as he got close enough. That said, I didn't love the Cicada story line, but I don't think that was the problem with it. There was a decent reason why Barry couldn't do that most of the time.
5 seasons and Barry still getting played by Thawne. Ralph using his detective skills to figure out what Team Flash once again can't figure out. #TeamReverseFlash. 😏
Great episode. Thawne's plans have plans. Am I the only one not surprised by this reveal? It was obvious Thawne was using & manipulating them from the start. The only way Thawne was stopped in the future HAD to be from the dagger & he has to have the dagger on/near him in order for his powers to be suppressed... now he'll be freed once they destroy it... If it is destroyed in the beginning of next episode I hope RF does show up.. Ralph's detective work was great! Bravo to him. Hate that no one on the team listened to him though smh
Did y'all learn nothing from the Vader fanfilm reaction lol? They're just gonna criticize it for something or other, and everyone's going to be mad about the reaction as a result lol.
Barry shuts him down too in a later scene where Ralph is trying to explain his theory. Their focus is on Cicada who's a threat that needs to be dealt with now. I'm not too upset with them not focusing on Thawne. It's not like they are going to kill Reverse Flash off. He was bound to escape anyway when he learned time was malleable.
20:02 - that's one thing they brought into the cannon in season 4 and I don't believe they've ever used since season 4, which granted was only last season, but it's something that's basically unbeatable that I totally understand why they're not using it as a cure-all to ask if Team Flash's solutions but then, I'm my opinion at least, they shouldn't have made it cannon lol you know what I mean???
Even though the most fun outcome for next episode would be the dagger being destroyed and Thawne emerging as the villain I don't think it is going to happen. With the way this episode stopped I feel like the dagger won't be destroyed and the next episode will still be Cicada focused. I also hope they don't just go "We found out your plan Thawne ha ha" and then he just gets executed cause his plan was foiled. That would be lack luster.
I think both Arrow and Flash are suffering from the 22 episode seasons now - the constant near catch and escape of the big bads over past couple of seasons especially shows the overall thinness of the plot. Supergirl seems to suffer from it far less than the other Arrowverse shows. While I love the shows still, more and more I feel they would either benefit from shorter seasons and tighter storytelling OR moving to something similar to the AoS pods with mini-arcs which can lead to a big finale. This would also allow them to perhaps give the Rogues more than single episode stories. As for this episode I loved Ralph's working out the connection - we shouldn't need reminded that he was a detective before all this, but it is always good to see him using those skills.
Fight scenes are egregious for plot reasons, like She-cada telling us she didn’t have the dagger in the future so Ralph could figure out Thawne’s plan.
Sherloque sent her away so he goes with her at end of season. Then the actor doesn’t have to play two characters while playing reverse flash next season.
@Brandon Collins Everything I've managed to find so far starts with "rumor". Some even point out that the rumor seems to have an origin in a site known for guessing. I've not been able to find any formal announcement as of yet. But if he is leaving, the rumor-ists are saying it will be after next year's crossover. As to playing two characters, if the rumor of Carlos (Cisco) leaving is true, then they're going to need a tech genius for the team, and Earth 2 Harrison Wells seems like the best candidate.
I can’t tell if the Thawne stuff is genuinely good or if we only got small doses make it seem better than it actually is. Honestly all Thawne’s story this season was just a rehash of season 1 only tricking Nora instead of Barry. I mean are people confident that if the writers brought back Thawne as a main villain that story will actually be good or another promising season that ends up disappointing due to dragging out the main villain for 22-23 episodes and bad writing decision.
Not at all confident and I worry that's exactly what would happen. Said elsewhere but to me they need to move to a mini-arc season structure. They seem totally unable to sustain a villain over one season anymore without writing the characters as idiots.
Anon Ymes I really wish they would do that too. Cicada would have benefited if he just had to be a main villain of one mini-arc as oppose to the main villain for most of the season. The new Rogues and Icicle stories could have at least been mini-arcs on their own to help fill the episode count and actually spend more time fleshing out those characters and story elements.
Complain about not freezing Cicada, my biggest complaint is them straight up trusting Reverse Flash. I don't care if she's me daughter when you've told her how bad he is she should of stopped. Also Freezing her wouldn't do shit considering the weaker Cicada broke out of ice before, I know it's poor writing but it's been that way for 2/3 seasons, it's especially bad this season cause they revealed Cicada too early & everything about cause they were clearly more interested in the Reverse Flash escape storyline to actually do things with Cicada properly like Cicada should of not lost at all til mid season when they introduced the second one & team flash are the ones to run is a really simple way to get past the not subduing Cicada problem not to mention them losing all the time devalues the unstoppable Jack the ripper status they gave the character I mean how are we suppose to believe Superman/Girl could beat Cicada?
It pisses me off that team Flash doesn't give Ralph the time of day cause hes no scientist or csi or dr. Like, listen to him guys he is a master at detecting.
I'm confused because doesn't the dagger only exist because Thawne told Nora to go back in time and the punch that thing with Barry at the start of the season.
I was pissed off at Barry this episode, not listening to anyone and the ending OMG! I don't think there can be a more perfect actress than Jessica Parker Kennedy, she looked great in those leather pants. But I experienced another audio problem early on with this episode. The music and sound effects were really loud but the actors were really low and it had a reverb effect that I'll try to describe. It started after Thawne was hit in his cell and at first I thought it was an effect that he was hurt or temporarily lost his hearing or something; because it reminded me of Saving Private Ryan when Tom Hanks had the echo effect with the high pitched noise. This was very similar to that only there was no high pitched noise. I wonder if it was only me that experienced this, but luckily some people posted the scenes I missed and was able to finish the episode.
@@susanmapes1751 it only lasted for about 5 mins but it was really weird and also hard to describe. Sorry about your luck too and hopefully you were able to find the moments we missed.
Since Thawn was never in the jail in the future (because of the dagger being gone) that means that he never helped Nora defeat godspeed, so next season we will most likely get godspeed as a villain
A few jabs at Eric’s weight this week... Best plan would be for Eric to use the off-season to gain substantial weight. I don’t mean a little, I’m talking hundreds of pounds. Just really show Aaron who’s boss by slowly week on week growing and pushing him out of the shot, until only he remains. I wish you luck.
I'm pretty sure that the prison was using the dagger to keep thawne from using his powers so he sent Nora to stop cicada by destroying it so he could escape
I think the comment that the guard made to Nora when she visits Thawne for the first time about her being the second person in 15 years to visit him will come back in some way too. I thought maybe it was future Grace and that’s how she knew about Thawne’s time-travel sphere but Nora visited him before going back to 2019 and changing the timeline/2019 Cicada so Grace wouldn’t have been 2049 Cicada yet. Also, I wonder what weapon the original 2049 Cicada was using when he resurfaces if the original dagger was still in Thawne’s vest? Unless Cicada resurfacing in Nora’s memory from the future was a repercussion of changing time in the past already manifesting...this timeline stuff is confusing me more than the “Savitar is a remnant” business.
I think they used the dagger to catch him in the future so maybe by destroying it in the past they can’t use it to catch him because it won’t be in the future anymore. If his plan works, he just mess up the whole timeline because he taught Nora how to time travel. So if he doesn’t get caught in the future or doesn’t end up in jail, Nora never learns how to time travel from him, So its like all last season with Nora and this season never happens. So maybe the uncle and Grace don’t become Cicada because it happen when Nora help berry destroyed the satellite or option 2: they caught him some how in the future and just use the dagger to stop him from using his powers and now he can escape from jail. I hope for option 2 because it’s less complicated
You know after watching endgame all this time travel stuff on the flash seems weird 😂 like the dagger being destroyed in the past should have no effect in the future, but since they do time travel different here it doesn’t matter
Boys, get ready for a very very very emotional season finale. I'm a manly man but this episode had me in tears. I wish you guys luck and can't wait too see your reaction.
Huh I saw it completely differently. I thought Thawne's plan was to have the dagger on him, that way in the past, the dagger gets blasted to the mirror realm, then taking Thawne with it, making him escape from prison. But yours makes much more sense, the dagger is dampening him, then when the dagger no longer exists he can escape using his own powers.
Thawne certainly doesn't cause the Crisis, but if they still keep to that newspaper from season 1, he'll certainly play an important part in it. I'm pretty sure he'll get out so he can fuck around in the crossover (at the very least)
This episode showed that even if Nora doesn't at the time have any or many negative emotions, she still has the negative speed force in her. And I know it's a pretty small thing, but could we talk about how Barry is going faster than lightning here?
Timey wimey question - if they are destroying the dagger at that point in the present, how was it that moment in the future the dagger is affected at the execution? If it’s an alternate time stream would that not just branch off from the moment the dagger is destroyed? So in that timeline Thorne is never imprisoned? If it can affect this future branch why that exact point in time? If no alternate branch would Nora disappear from the present time because she would not have net Thorne?
A few stuff on this episode, even though cool, were meaningless. Like Nora seeing through Grace's eyes to figure out where she is, when she just jumped in CCPD , they could just send a distress call at that point. Aaand Ralph's train of thought was awesome but too late as far as we know !
Its mostly bad writing. When Barry "Froze Time" To help Nora while she was spewing lightning everywhere, the lightning wouldn't have frozen in place. Maybe slowed down a little but not frozen in place. Lighting is way faster than what they make it seem on this show.
Ralph and Sherlocke. Two characters who get ignored and/or ostracized when they are the ones with the best understanding of what is happening.
Maybe we should start trusting the two detectives...nah

They were in a building with the cure for a city-full of metas. one dose, game over. nobody thought of that, real clever Team Flash!
"Poor Melanie" I died
I love this serie of Flash
A few jabs at Eric’s weight this week...
Best plan would be for Eric to use the off-season to gain substantial weight. I don’t mean a little, I’m talking hundreds of pounds. Just really show Aaron who’s boss by slowly week on week growing and pushing him out of the shot, until only he remains.
I wish you luck.
eric had me cracking up this whole reaction!!! lmao
Future Grace: I never had a dagger until I came to this time
Ralph: Wait...if she didnt have a dagger...then what happened to it?
*PLOT TWIST*
I'm pretty sure that the prison was using the dagger to keep thawne from using his powers so he sent Nora to stop cicada by destroying it so he could escape
Ralph hasn't even witnessed how smart and dangerous the Reverse Flash is and he was the only one who persisted to figure out his plan.
"Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me" I think this perfectly sums up my feelings towards team flash trusting Thawn
Reverse Flash to the guards: Y'all done fucked up
thawne you devilish genius!
yo not to be picky or creepy or anything but i look up the girl name who plays nora and damn she looks good in bikinis.
You need to watch Black Sails then (and of course Blind Wave's Black Sails reactions!)
MysticStrike ForceSSJ3 I’m gonna be honest with you, you can’t say that without being creepy
I think what blows my mind is Jessica Parker Kennedy is older than Candice Patton and Grant Gustin but looks younger than they do
You might wanna jump on the Black Sails ship with us.
You should check out the Me in my place photos, wow.
Iris better say she was wrong once Thawne is released. I've never been one of the people that dislike her, but trusting Thawne is an egregious error.
0:29 my dude is Savage 😂ASF
Timeline screwed? At what point did they forget shecada had already been to StarLabs? Or that she dad powers of her own?
Jantzku oh wow the writers fucking suck oh my god I just realized that 🤦🏾♂️
Jarrod Or maybe they blanked out.
I really like Aaron's hat... Where did you get that hat Aaron???
5:45 - Eric's face... Enough said lol
Man I trusted Thawn he got me fooled. Tom acting is great
You know after watching endgame all this time travel stuff on the flash seems weird 😂 like the dagger being destroyed in the past should have no effect in the future, but since they do time travel different here it doesn’t matter
I still believe in Eobard. I Hope he just want to survive and then turns Good. Becuase if he now turns evil. They never trust him again.
I knew it, dagger freedom
The whole episode I kept thinking why they would not just listen to Ralph and realize about thawne.
Because they only care about defeating cicada..I liked how Ralph 's brain worked at the last moment.
Damm, I dont even know where this is heading, its unpredictable
Thawne Surprise!!! Lol⚡👍
so wonder when mirror master gonna steal his famous weapon we saw in the episode the mirror gun
0:31 "Your mom" 😂😂😂😭😭😭
Y'all haven't figured out yet that the CW shows write characters to not do the smartest and most logical things for ridiculous drama
It's almost like that's what a tv show is for otherwise it would be boring af to just win and win and win with no errors
This episode showed that even if Nora doesn't at the time have any or many negative emotions, she still has the negative speed force in her. And I know it's a pretty small thing, but could we talk about how Barry is going faster than lightning here?
That novela level writing.. 😂
Lmao the leather pants 😂
She goes on another Earth with no job, no place to stay and no access to her money... I'm sure things will go well for her.
Sherloque says some of his friends are waiting to help her on the other Earth.
I’m assuming she only has to stay there until the end of the season finale.
Finally thawne coming in full swing, knowing. Thawne is the reason for cicada and this season makes me enjoy it more, since it had a point to it.
The mirror dimension is a thing now??
@Brandon Collins for real eh
haha he sent her to another earth with no person to meet her, no money, no new ID, no home to go to etc he basically sent her as a refugee haha
Sherlocke said he had friends there waiting to help her.
You guys are smart. No can see what was happening if they shoot the dagger.
I thought it was funny when cisco says hold on to your butts, then the camera shows Nora from behind in the next scene. lol
What do you guys watch flash on?
"Break baby Hitlers back". OMG I DIED🤣🤣😭😂
I want a Reverse Flash-cat now
7:52 - HOW does this happen after "Enter Flashtime"? He should be so much fucking faster than that bomb.
Barry is faster than her? Maybe..
React to Kenobi vs Vader re-imaged!
Are these 2 brothers?
