Thank you so much for your reaction. I was the one who translated this video, and personally I think I did a lousy job. It was my first attempt, and I feel that I still have a lot to learn since the viewers focus should be more on my subs to be able to understand the sketch. My subs may be a bit long, moved on too quickly to the next, so fast reading is in order. Therefor the viewer hardly sees any of the performance and facial expressions from Youp, that makes this sketch, together with the text, so funny. Nevertheless; I hope that my effort has been enjoyed and appreciated by many people, and did not contain too many spelling errors. I was highly and happily surprised to find this particular video reacted upon, since I did the translation and uploading over a year ago. No comments were placed under the video, and the video did not get many views. Please understand that it was never my goal to get kudos for my work; the sole purpose was to make non Dutch speakers enjoy the video. Seeing you in stitches while reacting on this video absolutely made my day. So, thank you so much again! I did see that you have reacted on many video's that originate from The Netherlands, so I was wondering what kind of connection you have with our country. Maybe you have mentioned the reason for this in some other video. If so, please leave a link to that particular video.

In fact, it was staged. The drivers license shouting guy was one of the technicians of Youp's show. It was done in every show that tour. But it was a great setup.
Of course it is. But if anyone from the audience had yelled out something else he could have ended the punchline with what had been called then. That is the ingenious thing about this.
@@jackschilder Exactly. But still funny so much people think it was an improvised scene in the show and it wasn't scripted this way. In any show of Youp where there is interaction with the audience he picks someone actual there and laughing/talking really loud and has a technician for backup if the audience doesn't provide.
ikea bunk bed from spelen met je leven (playing with your life) (1995) has been named several times and i also recommend that one. Or how customer call centers had to improve their service after he completely demolished them on stage for providing so little service and making people wait for so long, telling about one of his own experiences with them. That said, I've always believed the man calling 'rijbewijs' from the audience was simply part of the show. But the scene and his reply are no less funny for that.
Someone really should send in that Buckler sketch with translations. Background info: it was basically the first "alcohol-free" beer here, but since it did contain minuscule traces of alcohol, they had to change their text to "poor in alcohol" (not "LOW in alcohol".) Annnnnd Youp had a certain opinion about people who drank that stuff.
@@louisminten7889 I was in the US and Buckler still exists there. Was taking pictures and had to tell everyone at the bar what was special about Buckler.
The SUC's driver's license, in 2003, had been revoked for four months, unconditionally (for repeat offense), because of exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h. The local limit was 70 km/h and the conviction was for 128 km/h which means that the camera system will have measured 132 km/h (because of older Supreme Court jurisprudence 4 km/h is deducted). We can safely assume that the speedometer of his car must have indicated 140 km/h.
the sketch isn't entirely complete. after have a nice weekend he indeed waits and then he said: that guy goes to work Monday and his colleagues ask was it fun? then he replies before the break it was.
Youp is an absolute genius. I went to one of his shows with a group of friends once, sitting second row because we spent the night outside the theater before tickets went on sale, and one of the guys whispered something to me during the performance and was a target the whole night. While Youp is about to retire soon, I can however recommend if you sit near the front, to bring an umbrella or rain suit
It makes it extra funny if you know that Youp lost his licence some years ago for speeding. He may have gotten it back since, but many Dutch people will know about him losing his licence.
You are probably right but i wouldn't be surprised if the first time it was for real and Youp kept it in his show because he saw that is was too funny to leave it out. But that is just my opinion.

I don't know if it works with the subtitles, because he has a very particular kind of jokes, mostly bases on language, but you really should try Herman Finkers. I want to point you to some good shows of him, but partially even those names are difficult to translate. His first show very successful show was named EHBO is mijn lust en mijn leven. This is the hard to translate, but basically it translates to First Aid for life. Other shows are het meisje van de slijterij (the girl from the liquor store), Kalm aan en rap een beetje (another translation nightmare: Slow down and quick), Geen spatader veranderd (the worst to translate. In the Netherlands we say from somebody who hasn't changed a bit over the years that he hasn't changed a vein. Finkers hasn't changed a vein over the years, he claims something else in the title: No vericose vein changed), Na de pauze (After the break, he was diagnosed with a chronical form of leukemia and stepped back from the podium for a while). In popularity he is sometimes compared to Youp van 't Hek. The difference is that Youp is talking more about the actuality. This is also why Youp is loved by some and hated by others. The comedian Youp van 't Hek is a working man's hero. The person Youp has no working man's background and due to his stellar career has gained a pretty good wealth. I personally like both comedians a lot. Youp for his ability to be a mirror to the society and Finkers for his lingual and visual type of comedy, which is way harder than it looks like.
