Thanks for the video. Helped me on my 2009 with a 4.6 2V and 4 speed. Little different setup underneath but same process. Wishing I had the same wrench there because I jammed up my ratchet and socket in the space and while prying it out of there I damaged my transmission dipstick tube so I’ll need to order one.
Without knowing the mileage, this seems like a very premature failure. Some would argue right on time for Ford. "Covered under ESP...." Thanks for reinforcing my purchase of the ESP for my own F-150! Thanks for sharing.
You start with an immediate closeup of the sensor without saying where it’s located. Those of us who don’t work on cars everyday don’t know where it is.
So instead of telling me what you think I'm doing wrong what you should be doing is asking questions and if you haven't learned communication 101 even when somebody's wrong telling them what they did wrong if you're trying to find information from them doesn't help you very much it's not a smart play
Secondly the title says upstream and the exhaust on the driver side up means towards the engine that's only one way you can go and it's above the catalytic converter so there's one before and one after and the one you're looking for is the one closest to the engine and if you don't know that part then you really should not be working on this
Had a P0131 pop up on my truck during cold start today. It looks like it was only momentary - cleared DTC by accident and it didn't come back. How do you know which O2 sensor to replace? I was finding info that P0131 is passenger, and P0151 is driver side, but you're showing here it's the driver side.
Remind me tomorrow to look back at this on the computer I mean this video was from so long ago that I don't really remember what this video was completely about I move on to the next job and the next job the next job I forget about the previous one
It’s be way more helpful too to show the location from the outside to the location of the sensor too. A lot of guys were saying to cut the line and re attach, it’s the only way to wrench it 😂
I put some 94 octane e15 gas in my 2014 f150 ecoboost and it threw a p0151. I added some non ethanol fuel and cleared the code and all was well for a few hundred miles and now I'm getting a P0174 code. Could they be related? I looked for vacuum leaks didnt see anything. Should I change the 02 sensor?
Hey there I think someone had the same problem as me but I have a 2012 f150 ecoboost, engine light came on for bank 1 sensor 1 02 sensor and I replaced that. About 5k miles later it comes on with a p0131 saying it’s the same sensor. Any ideas of what it may be?
FordBossMe, Thanks for prompt reply on another post, it wasn't expected. Hey quick question, I own a 16 f150 lariat 4wd w/3.5 ecoboost, 89k with recent catch can installation, stock gears and tires. I just changed plugs gapped at 030" and cleaned intake sensors. It cured a slight misfire and runs flawless. What kind of mpg should I expect? I did a 3hr trip each way at 16.9 mpg, is this normal? Old plugs were black. No CELs, just wondering... Thanks
Thanks for the video, my 2013 Explorer Sport w/3.5 Ecoboost is coding P0131 also but i didn't know if it is upstream or downstream is this going to be the same my explorer, upstream on the passenger side?
Searches have me confused on which part number for a p0131 code on a 2013 f150 eco boost. some say 8F9Z-9F472-G and others say 8f9z-9f472-h for bank 1 sensor 1. any help would be appreciated. I love the video just want to buy the right part
Either upstream or downstream Oxygen sensor Might be both. If you had a scanner where you could monitor live data you could look at Upstream sensor bank 2 sensor 1 it'll fluctuate from .2v - .9v Down stream bank 2 sensor 2 will read a steady .7v ish almost no fluctuation I hope you replaced the right cat for p0430 - front one by radiator
@@jasonarellano3025 I know this is a little sick but picture this Dick in the flywheel bank one is the right side bank2 is the left side PO420 is bank 1 po430 is bank 2
I don't know I think the sensors like 80 bucks and then they charge like an hour shop labor rate to install it I'm not sure though I don't get involved in the payment side of thing

2015 with 57000 miles
@@FordBossMe Ouch. Definitely premature.
I went off road and the P0151 code came up shortly after. I wonder if it just needs retightening.
How do you get the heat shield out of the way? Mine is blocking access to the black clip.
How much was the o2 sensor

If you can't find the sensor that somebody clearly spells out in the title as Upstream then you should not be working on your vehicle
@@FordBossMedo you realize people watch videos on here to learn. You seem like a real pleasure to work with. Bit sensitive I guess.

Can a 02 sensor fail without getting a 02 sensor code and instead get a low efficiency cat code.
yes
Getting the same code. About to replace o2 sensors. Did it fix your problem?

On your explorer take your pecker - stick it in the flywheel and put right hand forward that's bank 1
Firewall side upstream
Radiator side is bank 2
Is that on the passenger side
Should I always go Motorcraft for ford or can I use an "oe" from a company like denso?
They're probably both good but the safe recommendation would be Motorcraft

What size is the wrench
22mm or 13/16

You had a 219a also didn't you? You have a DI problem also. Direct injector
No just one single code and then I had another vehicle coming with the same code and what it ended up being is pin fitment at the pin going to the PCM

Sorry I got it! Passenger side
Got a 2014 f150 3.5 lariat supercrew cab. They told me that I had a upstream right sensor to replace. Which side would that be?
There is two sides upstream, bank 1 passenger side
Bank 2 driver
So is there 4 total?
There are 2 upstream of the catalytic converter and 2 down stream
On each side 1 up 1 down so 4 total
Yes
