Great music ! I am 92 and still play my Yamaha each day and once a month for all the residents in my old age home 🎵🎶🎹🎼🎵🪗🎹🎹🎹
Wow, warms my heart!
Bless you!
Hi, mu dear friend, congrata. 71 pilot ret Venezuela
You can feel that this gentleman plays from his soul. Utterly beautiful and extremely moving performance.
"Music played with heart transcends... " perfect way to describe musicians who can do this, they are in a league of their own.
Agree. You can feel the emotion just in the first few notes.
Thank you so much, Liam...that was so beautiful. I could just keep watching you, listening to you on this summer evening. And I think your house on wheels for your piano is superb. You play piano so well, and have engineering skills as well. Blessings and Bonne Chance!
his explanation of 'jael' was incredibly insightful. well played as well
"żal" was the word. Indeed it has a somewhat broader meaning and can encompass "sorrow", "sadness", "longing", "grief", "yearning", "remorse", etc.. AFAIK Chopin did miss Poland and this nocturne sounds like many evenings spent in a familiar, yet unfamiliar country, and being homesick.
Music is meant to touch the Heart...and it does like nothing else. But when the Composer puts to pen what They're feeling and it transmits thru the Player - that's MAGIC. Liam - what a SPIRIT!!! BRILLIANT!!!
It is so great to have a portable piano that you can bring with you anywhere and spread the beautiful music. Music is good for being and bring people together.😍
Beautiful piece and the sentiments explained so well by Liam, I'm a big fan of Chopin and this was a heartfelt rendition and brought tears to my eyes......thank you Liam 👏👏👏❤
Melodious Sound! You have to feel when he plays his music. Captivated!
Vielen Dank, Liam, dass du dein Talent mit uns allen teilst. Ein wunderbares Beispiel dafür, dass in jedem von uns Kreativität steckt.
What a moving performance Liam. Played from the heart. I think Chopin would have approved.
Thank you so much. Oh yeah great piano hut!
What a truly lovely guy. absolutely loved watching this.
The piano is a great friend. Not an easy friend but a great friend!!
The magic of the piano is that it is pre-tuned. Pitch is irrelevant. I had my attention drawn to this because I became acquainted with violinists. Nuff said.
It's beautiful played, very emotional. I loved Chopin, studied and played a lot in exams. His compositions are not easy. This man plays it intens emotional. Beautiful.......
It's a funny thing you say about not easy. I am learning Chopin's Nocturne in c minor posthumus. It looks so very easy and this music is anything but easy. I find the beauty of the voicings and melodies emotionally distracting as I lose my mind in them sometimes. It is very demanding to play.
people who listen to music smile! Thank you!
What emotion! What simplicity...what an experience!
I would love to hear this and other complete pieces by Liam with no commentary or interruptions by anyone. If anyone knows of them, please post the link. Thank you.
I’m 75 and still play drums for rock n roll and modern country music. The last gig I played I was at least 35 years older than the rest of the band. Do a TH-cam search, ‘The Soothsayers’. That was me 60 years ago…
Well as we mature things can get a bit harder so I looked at it been a compliment.
Brought a tear to my eye.
Sounds lovely not that I am a pianist or a good speller, but you know what I mean.❤😊
Love it. Loved a great 71 year old Liam!
I've been listening to Chopin for 2 days straight on Apple Music. It's my fav. composer and Claude Debussy! Most of these musicians starved to death and became famous after. Being a musician is THE most novel profession. Most of them have to do something else to survive and it's tougher when you have a family to feed.
Thank you for the video. This was a very beautifully played piece, I enjoyed it very much.
This was a beautiful thing that happened. He was unique to bring this piano to wherever he needs too.
So good, wonderful that he takes his piano with him , live hopin
He plays beautifully; Nur das Reine im Herzen kann eine gute Suppe machen = Only the pure in the heart can make a good soup. ― Ludwig van Beethoven.
Really could do without the commentary whilst he is playing........frankly, quite intrusive. Should be done afterwards.
*Żal indeed means sorrow* It can be "beautiful sorrow" depending on context.
Beautiful musicality .... thank you 😊😢😊
I’ve had my piano for 65 years.
Beautiful, I want more
His playing reminds me of Brigitte Engerer; she also played these pieces with a kind of calm consideration, sort of thinking and feeling it note by note instead of overseeing the piece as a whole. I love that style.
It does!
comparing a great pianist to an unskilled amateur….
Yeah… that’s a bit too far sorry
@@chriscambe unskilled is incredibly harsh. Come on...that piece is not an easy nocturne to play. You're making him sound like he hasn't got a clue how to play.
Agree that that comparison to Brigitte Engerer is farfetched but you're being brutal for the sake of trolling.

Simply beautiful
Beautiful and emotional 😢
A moving piece.
Beautiful.

WOW !! WOW !! BELLISIMO 🎉

This is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Bravo!!! Belsissimo!!!!❤❤

Er lebt die Musik, ausgezeichnet gespielt. Meine Hochachtung. Erasmus aus Schweden 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Brilliant . So light .
The coolest bit of D.I.Y. I ever did see 👍❤️❤️❤️👍
I love him! What an amazing man.
Someone who understands Chopin.
Chopin is my favorite. i can play this Nocturn on classical guitar.
Lovely! Brilliant!
Oh my, I love that neighborhood of red brick houses ❤
Absolutely gripping! Some years ago, one of the great violinists (sorry!) set up in a New York subway. I will never forget the busy mom who dragged her little girl along who GOT it! So sad! My measure for all piano is Glenn Gould, who may be the spiritual opposite of "romantic" Chopin. But if "Goldberg Variations" comes on some broadcast somewhere, no matter background noise or circumstances, I will sit up and listen: that's Glenn Gould!
I believe it was Joshua Bell and I do remember that video. The narrator mentioned how many people rushed by and didn’t know that people were paying hundreds of dollars that night to hear him in concert.
@@hjusn Yes! Joshua Bell! Thanks! It seemed so clear to me that that one little girl had the instinct to be captivated, and Mom just dragged her away. I was a bit of a musical child-star singer (long story), and one time I was next to a juke box in a pizza place and this little girl came up and started singing HARMONIES. I spoke to her parents along the lines of, that's really special. They looked at me like I was a freak. No interest.p.s. Worst scenario: they made fun of her for not singing the tune!

I cried for no reason watching this video. So poignant !
Just cause ya old , dont mean you’ve grown mold 😜
❤❤❤
He has played Chopin for more than sixty years. Can you explain why he should stop at seventy?
👍🧡🧡
what train station is that. I would like to go there and play some tunes on that piano
Using search functions from the roads on the exit signs, it appears to be Leeds (Yorkshire, England)
What has being 71 years old got to do with playing the piano.
Odd comment. Would you say the same thing about Colette Maze?
@@hetmanjz Depends, what was important? That she was a woman? That she was a pianist, that she was 109. Either way to headline an article that someone was 71 is plain stupid, unless of course you think 71 is really really old!
I agree. His age is really irrelevant here. 71 is not old for playing the piano. Maybe someone in their 90s would be more noteworthy.
@@michaelhatch1994I would say being 71 means we‘re more likely to hear good mature playing, rather than hearing someone who is 7! I would always rather hear the older person.
I wouldn’t freak out. It was merely a fact. I was attracted to the “71-year-old Liam draws in…” because I figured I was in for a treat.
When I listen music, I LISTEN !
Why do you talk while he is playing ?
Actually he looks more like 85 😂
No disrespect to this talented man as he absolutely moved that crowd with his playing but he looks like a character that actor Paul Giamatti could play in real life.
What does the man's looks have to do with his outstanding performance? How absurd!
We live in a culture now we’re being older is like the scarlet letter, when my dad was in his 80’s he could out walk the majority of people half his age so clearly age is nothing but a number
He as being comes across that is what artists real ones can thats why so many people listen Lang lang you are technically phantastic but ffrom this guy you could learn a bit I want to help you don t be angry pkease bit more ofyour heart you are a spiritual being that has not is abody
How bout you shut up and let us listen. The empty chatter is only a distraction.
How stupid and annoying to lay talk over the pianist's fine performance. An insult to musician, music and audience. The assumption seems to be that audiences can't possibly be expected to concentrate on one thing -- the music -- for even a few minutes. Wonderful playing and I just wish I could have heard it all without those distractions.
piano around the world basically did this same thing, he quit doing it before covid
Great! Have a listen to the 22 Chopin pastiches I composed (there are also 25 Schubert ones on my channel in the playlist section): th-cam.com/play/PLYUhuuvIrJm0dcmhr8KtklL50fUpxuzKB.html

Lang Lang Emily Bear
Lang Lang is the worst person to critique anyone. This is not "old fashioned... free...". What nonsense ! This is an old man playing well. Not Carnegie Hall but good. Lang Lang plays everything to loud and too fast and creates garbage- not music
Have you heard his Goldberg Variations?
I just wish he would let us listen.
I'm looking forward to seeing your concerts, where I'm sure you'll do it exactly right.
As a musical "DumDum", the one thing I took away from our school music class was the teacher hammering home that "Nobody can say a piece of music is bad... you are only entitled to say 'I like it', or 'I don't like it'."
@@PiefacePete46 there are elements of music that can be objectively "bad". A world famous concert pianist isn't going to have any of them.
Why yammer away over the music?
Rubinstein use to play near to 100 years old... Same Horowitz.... And many others ... I don't see the point here....
Why the both don't stop talking???
Really needs to work on those chromatic runs in the A section to get them clean
What the hell is the asian guy talking about?? ...''finally there is a classical piece that has a heart'' ??? WTF man, that is a profound misunderstanding of a great many classical pieces. Just because you don't understand something if it's not explicit, it doesn't automatically mean something has no heart..
Has she completely forgotten that he listened to little Lucy play parts of this same piece, that had as much sensitivity and heart, if not more but that's my opinion though.
Brigitte was a friend. I attended his classes at the Paris Conservatory for a long time. I'm sorry but this pianist is not good, the comparison is ridiculous. Lang lang is not honest in his comment, he is just putting on a show for the general public as usual.
Lil too fast….
Among the worst clickbait ever. The picture of Lang Lang apparently in shock makes you think this will be some kind of new genius-virtuoso discovery, and it’s just a regular amateur pianist.
You can put down his technical ability if you must; I am not qualified to debate that aspect of the video, but I cannot fault his emotional commitment and immersion in his performance. I believe his music is central to his life, and he loves it.
Also, I am a passionate critic of Clickbait... I see nothing in the title or thumbnail of this video that implies anything other than what I watched.
I'm the only one who can hear that he's playing really badly ?😂
nobody wants to be mean 😅
not necessarily, only the irregular rhythmic part
He wasn't that bad. Can we see a version with you playing it perfectly?
@@AllThisOverASliceOfGabagool It's always the same reaction clichés. 1/ yes, you can criticise without knowing how to play (it's called having an ear) 2/ yes, I can play this work perfectly 3/ no, I don't have any videos to show. You have to stop being hypocritical (or else you're deaf).
@@beecolor Yes I know what having an ear is, I'm not thick! When people take the time to shit on others from a great height then they deserve to be called out!
Where is the hypocrisy? I'm not shitting on an amateur pianist who was on a show designed for people who are not of a professional skill but have passion for the instrument!
I just don't see the need for your ego. It isn't bullying per se, but you're making yourself feel better by shitting on somebody else.
You claim to play the piece perfectly. Cool. Most pianists with humility would never claim to master a piece as there is always more to learn, yet you can play it to perfection. If you mean note perfect, then fair enough. If you mean anything else, you're full of shit!
Claudia, a terrible presenter who is paid far too much by the bbc. She got lucky, very lucky!
I love his playing far more than I ever could for Lang Lang - Lang Lang is far too dramatic and swooning all over the place which is so very distracting from the music. Liam is a very fine pianist and I would love to hear more.
