The "Pedestal" 5-track CD from Dec 2023 is one of the year's classics. Get it, NOW - you really don't want to miss out! Joni and Karsten included a lovely handwritten note when my cherished copy arrived. These songs, superbly *other* in construction flow and crisp intimate clear production capturing, show how vulnerable and yet strong their heartbeat is at the core. Have they heard The Evens - The Evens LP (2005)? - it also has that Patti Smith approach if she'd inhabited Olympia in 1991; and the dynamics (rather than the sound, per se) nod back to Mecca Normal (late 1980s early period).
