    I feel you. Went out this morning and found ants all in my orange tree flowers.
    Will use your suggestion!
    Thanks. 😃

      Did his suggestion work for your orange treat? I have the same problem with my orange tree.

    My question is how do you spray your tree if it is very tall and you cannot reach all the way around it to spray?

    You should be able to detach most aphids with a decent pressured wash of water. These ants work way quicker than a solo gardener for sure. I have had to resort a moat system in for my "potted" plants. Trunk trap methods either get dusty to the point their ineffective and adhesive based solutions end up melting/thinning out. Fellow gardener with same issue HEAVILY sulfur dusts the base/trunk and is effective albeit tedious and not good for my particular crop.

    Is eco neem harmful to bees?

      @@Chandrika-22 If not, then how can it harm aphids and ants?

    • @Chandrika-22
      @Chandrika-22 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jay-tk7ib It repels the aphids as they come in contact with the leaves. Then there are no aphids to suck the leaf sap which attracts the ants.
      In correct doses it does not harm bees or other pollinators.

      @@Chandrika-22 What about the microorganisms in your soil? What about earthworms? Any synthetic chemicals that repel or kill bugs will repel or kill other things you don't want to repel or kill. And then there's human health to think about.

    • @Chandrika-22
      @Chandrika-22 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jay-tk7ib Neem is a natural product from the neem tree, it's not synthetic. Spraying it on leaves provides nutrients for the plants, as well as providing protection from certain bugs. You can even buy it in a block as a soil fertilizer. So worms and micro organisms are quite safe.
      Edit: And it's sometimes found in ayurvedic shampoos and toothpaste, so human health is not really an issue.

    I don't know what kind of ants you got, but my ants are all very helpful. My fire ants loosen soil for my plants. My sugar ants pollinate my fruit trees.

    imo you should be focusing on plant health not just plant protection , of cause if you have an infestation you need to do something but you should add beneficial things to your spray like Salicylic Acid which you'll get from Aloe Vera , Salicylic Acid will help induce SAR Systemic Acquired Resistance in plants , very similar to what Chitin does in your insect frass bolstering a plants own defenses against pest & pathogen , Aloe Vera has many beneficial elements for use in gardening , another one is a substance called Saponins , they are secondary metabolites & are defensive compounds against pathogenic microbes and herbivores , it is a soapy kind of substance that will work as a emulsifier helping oils & homemade pest sprays like your garlic , chili etc spray stick & spread on leaves , letting you remove the dish soap you add to that spray , keeping in mind pest sprays are not something plants like so if we can add something plants like & help improve health , that's gotta be better than negatively impacting a plant with dish soap , many many benefits to the use of aloe vera in the garden , kelp & aloe 👍👍👍

    The ants are eating the aphids. They help the tree. If you read up on ants you will find ants are eco friendly. They help the soil.

      Ants farm the aphids that suck sap out of new leaf growth for the honeydew the aphids poop out and will protect aphids from predators

    I moved to a unit in Liverpool last year and my 100% healthy chili and parsley plants (both in big tubs) that were BOTH 2 years old were decimated by bloody aphids.
    It broke my heart.
    I want to plant anew, but I won't get any fruit or herbs for at least 2 more years. Buggers.
