War of The Worlds is a hardcore horror survival game that throws you into the extermination of man kind. Survive a week in an open world while avoiding giant alien machines that will exterminate you on sight. Avoid demise from dehydration or starving by scavenging and looting for food, resources and other tools to aid your survival in an alien invasion apocalypse. Watch the military's measly attempts to fights back. Commandeer military vehicles to fight back. The extraterrestrials are not the only threat. Other humans may try to rob you from your resources, vehicle or your life. Multiplayer delivers a unique experience allowing you to pick a side, humans or aliens. As the aliens, your goal is to exterminate all humans, harvest their blood, and fertilize the earth with it. As team humans, your goal is to be the last man or group standing and out live the aliens long enough to fight back and find a way to bring them down. Will you survive the war?

Finally. An "every person for themselves" style survival game that will give a player the experience of a nightmare apocalyptic scenario from the POV of an average normal person that isn't protected by massively thick plot armour, and is very susceptable to dying at any given moment.
Really testing your survival instinct, intuition, nerve, skill, intellect, and knowledge of the story.
(And probably an adrenaline inducing thriller experience as well.)

This as a work in progress is immense - excellent visuals and sound effects. With a story mode and more npc’s present this will kick ass.
Should add like soldiers, tanks helicopters, and boats or like military bases/camps, or outposts you can find scattered around the map
Military would realistically be awesome. These aliens aren't the most... 'intelligent', if you will. Overwhelming force tactics would probably take down a lone one. Terrain masking cover and being able to get underneath one or even on one would probable do serious damage. Long story short, it would make an interesting idea to see how the Military fares.
@@xX_Gravity_Xx they don’t fare very well at all. In fact most of them are killed along with 95% of the general public. They fail at every attempted strike because the tri-pods are protected by impenetrable shields and there are literally thousands of them. The last place you’d want to be would be around the people actively provoking them. All military bases would likely be burned to ash within the first few hours.
In every version of this story there is nothing humanity can do to stop them. They are hundreds of feet tall, coated by an indestructible shield and fire concentrated energy beams that turn humans to ash in seconds. Not only this, but they also travel together in large groups making escape almost impossible.

there is actually a lot of tanks bmps and solders that try to slow the tripods down. you can also play as them to try and fight back

Imba game, if you still work with some bugs and add a little physics of destruction, then it will be an ideal game
Dynamic destruction is planned and was already in the previous builds of the game but had to be overhauled because the quality was not there enough, but the developer had building destruction as one of the community polls that was voted on in second place, right behind human harvesting that took first. Once the developer is happy with how the tripods and aliens behave then the environment can be worked on and maybe we can get heat rays slicing through buildings or the tripods stomping on them dynamically.
Obviously a labour of love, but doesn't strike me as terribly interesting running and hiding.
Joining army fine, but assume they'd be invulnerable
As of right now, running and hiding are going to be your best chances of survival, it may seem mundane at first but the experience is tense because you constantly have to be on your toes and scouting for supplies while avoiding the tripod's gaze, and if situations get desperate enough, you can use firearms to fight other NPC's and loot their bodies, just be warned that not only they can do the same to you but any loud noise of that caliber will attract the tripods nearby. There has not been the implementation of fighting back the tripods as of yet but that is planned for the near future when the tripods will break down and become disoriented given about, I believe a week's time roughly in-game, which will tell you that the shield is down, and you can start wailing on them and exterminate them through any conventional means. I guarantee you that the developer will show this in a future video if you are still interested.

@@frozone-yeah I think the Military would have an okay chance long before that time. The issue is what happens when they're busy maintaining vital targets and taking down the essential ones. Taking down one would require overwhelming force... so they wouldn't be able to do anything other then evacuate civilians as best they can.
The graphics would be good if we were in 2005 circa Half-Life 2. Where are all the crowds of panicking people?

the tri-pods always sounded like a EV/steam powered mechanics to me. the way it charges up then releases in a loud audible horn. silly as the thought is i think a steam electric version of a tri-pod would look awesome.

Supposedly it's a 2 mode game.
Story Mode - Follows the story of the movie (as much as possible) with a playable character. With animated re-enacted scenes.
Survival Mode - Every person for themself style. Cuts right to the chase, starting right as the invasion begins. Using / doing whatever you can to survive and outlast the aliens. Intellect and skill based mode.

Unfortunately, no, as of right now the developer stated that he is only working on steam for this game. Due to the high level of quality and the fact that this is his second major game that has been made, porting it over to consoles would be extremely difficult as there would be possible optimization issues and if the game runs well on steam but not on consoles then the developer does not want to take that chance as he is working his butt off to make this game possibly one of the best survival horror experiences, where no two playthroughs will ever be the same and very little is scripted or superficial. Maybe that will change in the future, but it will be a long while before considerations are made since it is only just going into early access.
@@frozone-yeah I don’t see how they would have optimization problems with current gen consoles, series X and PS5 should handle this with no problem, games using unreal engine 5 looks far more sophisticated than this, the matrix demo looks more realistic than this 🤔
@@TheKing-oneluv That is true yes and I can see this from a logical standpoint, but what you have to understand is that this is entirely one developer making all of what you see in this video with the assistance of two other people that are not so much developers as they are people focused on one particular aspect of the game such as audio and inverse kinetics of the tripod behavior. Essentially 3 people max but the main developer holds the priority over the other two since he gives the OK on everything that is done. The developer has essentially given his reasoning for what you are replying to me about, to help you out, this will be a bit long so please bear with me:
For the engine he is using which is Unity Engine, sure it may not be the most graphically impressive engine there is unlike Unreal Engine 5 which is of course what made The Matrix Demo, but the developer has officially stated over on Discord that if he were to move the entirety of his game over to a new engine, being Unreal 5, the game would be further delayed by another year or two as there would be much more work to understand and adapt to the new engine and he would rather not have to go back and start again to optimize everything on the new engine.
Now as for console ports, the developer over on a public Livestream was asked this question numerous times, and what he said was that the builds he works on for PC constantly go through updates and optimization changes, what he does alone is not easy, and takes up quite some time, so much so that he took breaks to recharge the batteries both mentally and physically for his health, he mentioned that when trying to set up the game to be playable on MAC as well as PC, that the combination alone was so much of a pain for him to keep up with. Combine the fact that he has no experience making a console game and there you have a possible recipe for disaster. If the game were to release on consoles ported over from PC like many others have done in the past being plagued with their own issues of bugs, glitches, and unoptimized performances that are not present in the PC version, then I would have a hard time trying to fathom how he alone would be able to keep up with that load when the inevitable backlash from impatient people are soon to come about after the official release. Keep in mind that this game is set to come into early access by roughly Q1 of next year, so it isn't even completely finished and worthy of console port distribution anyways.
I hope this helps you to better understand the reality of the situation. Your best chance of playing this game might have to be on the Steam Deck as he might still make the game controller compatible if a PC is not possible. Also sorry for the long comment.
