Russians put up a good battle against the martians 👍 Everytime I run this battle it was a 50/50 the outcome. I already got something in the works for the U.S. just not the hill scene yet.
I know that in the original book, the tripods get destroyed, either by artillery or the Thunderchild, but the tripods were still able to destroy those, and what made the tripods terrifying in the 2 movies was the shield because they were literary unstoppable, due to the shield, and I think that it would be closer to the book in the 2005 version if the reason why the tripods had the shields were to prevent being destroyed so easily and the shields had a limit, or they could be destroyed by mines or hidden teams with rocket launchers. But having the shields be literally indestructible and sending everything the military has, knowing it doesn't work against their shields to protect refugees, evacuating just a few feet from them is terrifying. Good video if it's to be more like a book version of the WotW with the 2005 movie. Also liked the Sabaton bit.
Dude, this is legit so cool, I've only ever seen a lot of hovering perspectives so I appreciate that you gave us a more grounded pov. Most of the moments in here make for some pretty nice scenes.
Thank you. Be honest the first video I released was just a muck around with the editor. Then blew up from there. I seen alot of video's on TH-cam and thought why no one has done FOV before. I can see why now. Does take alot more work scripting to pull it off😅. But to get that feeling how big and devastating the tripods are. Worth it to get the money shots👌

Cheers😊 Took about 60 hours including map design. Getting the idea for the battle. Scripting, zone triggers, waypoints etc, video editing. Over 50 retakes to get battle right. 20+ times I died in the battle from tripods or to close to exploding vehicles😅 I was thinking of doing a blooper video at end. Cause there was some funny bits making it.

@@tow3lie773 Absolutely, it's silly when movies do that as it makes no sense...shielding would be about how much power you can apply AND probably some sort of feedback matrix...eventually all shields would fail. If they had such fabulous never-ending energy...they wouldn't need "legy" tanks to invade. ;)

Just remember all MOW series run the same GEM editor engine. No matter if it's MOWAS2 to CTA to GOH. You should found the script or command you need. It does take time to learn. All I can say is to start simple and grow from there. The only limitations is your imagination (and patience)😉 Once I do my next video (which is taking time to do so😅) I was thinking about doing some short videos. On how to get a simple WOTW battle started. Cause all WOTW fans should have fun with this awesome mod! Search "endless waves Gem edtior" should be a good starting point. This is artistry man! I know this might seem an odd question, but do you sell these? I mean, is that even possible? I've got CTA and the WotW Mod that I'm playing with at the moment, I want to use it to create scenes for analog horror short films, but as you rightly say it takes a *long* time so I'm looking for "ready made" if they even exist! I'd buy it obviously, not expecting freebies, but it may not even be possible.
Cheers👍 Yeah few ppl have this problem. 1. CTA verison 1.228.0 is only one that works. So if your in the beta version you need to op out or update. 2.Make sure to load AVS platform mod first. Click apply then wait. Then load WOTW mod click apply and wait. (Unload all other mods first before doing this step) 3. Most other mods will give you error. Some work. Load up editor should work. 4. Sometimes I get a error loading up saying some assets didn't load. If your lucky it's once if not so lucky takes like 10 times to load in. Just Ok to error and retry. 5. Most maps work but some don't. To found out if a map works. Load it up in F3 and click save as. If you get an error saving that map doesn't work and retry a another map Hope this helps and good luck👍
@@volerod Oh yeah they can free shoot,walk,run,hide. (Think for them themselves) Just sometimes it looks like chickens with thier heads cut off. When in FPS view it looks real bad😅

@@poodledoodle2416 Cheers👍 Well you could do. Would require alot of zone triggers to do. Thinking in my head on how I do it with GEM engine would be pain staking to do haha. That video used zone triggers to engage hidden units to been seen. If the unit is dead and can't be seen, it doesn't effect the frame rate. So with FPV (direct control) does give a little lead way with the frames to stay high. When I played same battle top down was like 5fps😅 Nothing to do with computer system just this engine so old doesn't utilise my full systems potential. Locking the frame right at 60fps too help with the lag spikes. Delete waypoints helps with units not on map to be gone too. It's kinda cheating just doing full FPV but does take more time to set it up right too. Some units can get destroyed and parts that came off it don't mesh probly with the terrain or objects. Caused massive frame drops and that was random when it happen. Thats down to game designer's not doing a clean profiling build. Once the mod moved over to GOH I'll have little more head room with it. In reality, they would have been bombarded with tactical nuclear weapons. Tanks also comfortably hit the target from a kilometer away. why are they getting closer? Again, it is not very clear how such a machine can withstand the hit of a heavy aerial bomb under its thin legs. In a word, fantastic)
Totally agree with you. If only someone made Arma 3 mod😅 Nukes could maybe do the job. But not for every tripod that spawned up. Guessing the shields do most of the work but must have an overload point. The amount of ammunitions that world has wouldn't be enough to take them all day. Im my eyes. EMP did most of work panic and disorganisation 👍

I kinda agree with you. Listen to the tapes as a kid. The music and story was unreal. That battleship. What, you could imagine as a kid. Tho today's technology seems more fitting to the collapse of our species🤣 I preferred the story tripods were buried and came up under our feet. Yes there was a game too. RTS. Bloody hard, but fun.

@@coolguy2173h Turn off any other mods. Most conflict with AVS mod. Apply AVS mod first wait till it active then apply WOTW mod wait till that active. Quit the game and load up the edtior. Tripods are in the vehicles section in F3 mode👍

Had to do alot of retakes to get it right😅 Just down to experience and been playing around with the Gem editor since MOW days (2011ish). 123stealthbomber has alot helpful videos and StrumFuher PK. Start making your own AI battles and grow from there. The mods don't get me started on that haha. I had filter out the ones give me errors and delete. Tip any mod that replace any original game units, delete! Remake my own folder for the ones that did work with AVS and WOTW mod. Be honest there's still scenes in that video I could of done better. So many moving parts to work together😖
@@Combine_elite8965 Interesting🤔 You say set teams. Like tripods team 1 and AI team 2? Don't use team 0. What other mods have you got on? Know some work but conflict with the AVS mod. Other thing set to open fire not hold? Never had this problem before.

@@Xyz_xyz712 All good. People thought the first video I did was the WOTW game😅 Its a 7 years old now. Unless your system from 2010 I don't think you'll have a problem with it. Only problem is now no matter what system you do have, top range the game engine still bottlenecks out. My 13900k usage is about 10% and 3090 like 45%. Lucky if uses 11GB memory too. Game can't utilise CPU or GPU cause it's so old. Good luck with your battles, hope you have fun with it👍

How did you get such a smooth frame rate with so many units on screen?
Was difficult keep it above 30fps haha. Using hidden and unhidden scripts. Only showing units when I had to.

I kinda agree with you. Listen to the tapes as a kid. The music and story was unreal. That battleship. What, you could imagine as a kid. Tho today's technology seems more fitting to the collapse of our species🤣 I preferred the story tripods were buried and came up under our feet. Yes there was a game too. RTS. Bloody hard, but fun.

@@coolguy2173h Turn off any other mods. Most conflict with AVS mod. Apply AVS mod first wait till it active then apply WOTW mod wait till that active. Quit the game and load up the edtior. Tripods are in the vehicles section in F3 mode👍

Bueno, en las películas cuesta mucho dinero tener unidades militares en escena y tener leyes de derechos de autor sin pagar dinero a las fuerzas armadas. Por qué en la película de 2005 solo vimos pequeñas escenas rápidas. Estoy seguro de que, en mi mente, EE. UU. estaba tirando todo a los trípodes. En la escena de la colina había 8 helicópteros Apache y 5 F/A-18 que vimos durante unos 20-30 segundos. Estos videos que creé para las escenas de batalla que deberíamos tener👍

Wow! I can't belive gow much scripting work this must have been! How did you do this? And how did you even manage to get the mods working 😂
Thanks Vlad. Had to do alot of retakes to get it right😅 Just down to experience and been playing around with the Gem editor since MOW days (2011ish). 123stealthbomber has alot helpful videos and StrumFuher PK. Start making your own AI battles and grow from there. The mods don't get me started on that haha. I had filter out the ones give me errors and delete. Tip any mod that replace any original game units, delete! Remake my own folder for the ones that did work with AVS and WOTW mod. Be honest there's still scenes in that video I could of done better. So many moving parts to work together😖

@@Combine_elite8965 Interesting🤔 You say set teams. Like tripods team 1 and AI team 2? Don't use team 0. What other mods have you got on? Know some work but conflict with the AVS mod. Other thing set to open fire not hold? Never had this problem before.
@@Combine_elite8965 BTW some maps don't work with this Mod. So load up the map click save as. If it crashes then can't use that map. That could be causing it too

@@Xyz_xyz712 All good. People thought the first video I did was the WOTW game😅 Its a 7 years old now. Unless your system from 2010 I don't think you'll have a problem with it. Only problem is now no matter what system you do have, top range the game engine still bottlenecks out. My 13900k usage is about 10% and 3090 like 45%. Lucky if uses 11GB memory too. Game can't utilise CPU or GPU cause it's so old. Good luck with your battles, hope you have fun with it👍
