Well I think the historical wealth of West Africa failed to translate into a sustained long-term development for various reasons like resource mismanagement, corruption, and lack of diversified economic strategies have hindered the region's ability to leverage gold wealth for lasting development.
I agree with you. Curruption has eaten deep into the wealth of the West African States and unfortunately, its still eating deeper into our treasury. The only hope will be when we have leaders that are delibrate about salvaging the situation.
