Jarod Kimber is much more knowledgeable then your average "cricket journalist" kind of guy. Sometimes his comments surprise me.
No doubt he has knowledge but I also believe that some people get confused between opinion and knowledge.
Not accusing you of this but I’ve listened to him a bit and seen quite a number of people write a comment similar to yours.
His or anyone else’s opinion may have some merit but they are only opinions and someone else will have a different one.
England’s openers have been vulnerable since Andrew Strauss retired…and then Cook retired as well!!
Duckett and Crawley have been the best opening partnership for England since Cook and Strauss (not a high bar but surprising they are the ones providing a little bit of stability)
Crawley was the best and consistent English batsmen in recently concluded test series against India
Crawley is a highly talented player who may not have a high floor but certainly has a high ceiling. His numbers for England in the ashes and the india tour were both excellent both in terms of average and strike rate. Regardless of wether you agree or disagree with bazball crawley embodies its spirit, and like it or not hes the best option England have, they don’t have a Rohit or Khawaja running around in their county system.
Agreed, but as an Aussie I’m not fully aware of the other talent in England outside of watching the county scores. I hope Zac can make some inroads into improving his 30-40-50-100+ conversion rate but I don’t agree with this blokes assertion that he’s never learnt to make big scores. I think a bloke who has 4 Test hundreds including a big double, knows how to do it even if he hasn’t consistently enough.
Can you make this available as a podcast and longer I love it!
I was wondering the same, these 3 are soo soo good together❤❤
Agree. Long form this!
England opener's have played decent, but it's their middle order which struggled.
In recent series in India their opening pair gave them starts but middle order like pope, root, bairstow and stokes struggled.
They were only ones scored runs in india
Rather after seeing them in India, the openers were pretty good but problem is there after 3 ..
Where can i watch these episodes in full ?
Nowhere, these are made for YT, small clips with different topics. Thats how you build a YT channel over long term.
Good strategy by talksport. The whole episode uploaded is views of 10 different videos lost not to forget the potential of one of these shorter videos to go viral.
The Shane Watson comparison for Crawley is great, you could probably compare their scores in 10/11 Ashes for Watson and India this year for Crawley, probably very similar, a lot of 40-70 and out.
Jarrod Kimber is brilliant
Any openers for any side are vulnerable as it only takes 2 good balls and wallop
Rattled matey
Nope just telling it like it can be
True but Crawley and Duckett tend to nick balls that can be left
So they're limiting themselves rather than getting jaffas most of the time
Crawley has to play on the strength of his recent England innings. Why England haven’t recalled Keaton Jennings yet is a mystery.
The way England setup its perfect for Crawley and Duckett.
There are a few others going arpund that may deserve a chance but we tested lots before and none cut it
Jordan coxs should be in the squad for the upcoming test going on form in the country championship
Crawley is like Travis Head, he'll just go for it no matter what. Sometimes he'll get runs sometimes he will fail. If your playing that style you have to accept that you'll get good and bad.
England favour batsmen over bowlers in this team. As a bowler, if you're inconsistent, you're out. If you're a batsman you can be poor for long stretches but they'll defend you as an impact player who will come good. Just look at the way they handled Ollie Robinson compared to Ollie Pope. Both are good at times but one is undroppable while the other probably won't be picked again
Cheers
*Crawley* has been the most consistent opener in indian conditions not that long ago ffs
Butter and salt have been vulnerable
Test series vs West Indies n Sri Lanka will be very easy for Eng this summer 🌞
You sure about that?
@@kcampbell--ancientandbibli1669yes
I don't know
West Indies just beat Australia in their last Test
West Indies bowling attack is not one to be mess with they will bowl England out for less than a hundred.
@@Grogu-485 in your dreams kid
Need to pick Keaton Jennings and Dom Sibley as openers. The way they both play does not fit with the current England management but I would back them against Australia and India. Both are improved players since their first England spell!
Jennings sure...goes well and has been unlucky not to be picked but not Sibley...
Sibley will never wear England whites again
If your so good Jarod you open for England
If he is not scoring regularly in county also then there are others better than him
More than crawley i think pope is the one who should be kicked out. I dont know how he is getting picked for england and he is vice captain. I have never seen a worse batsmen.
I was shocked and angry when india allowed him to score 196
They were the best of the England batters in India, no?
I you’re going to claim that a batsman has never learnt how to make big runs you might want to use an example of someone who doesn’t have a big Test double hundred and 3 other Test hundreds. I think it’s very fair to point out that he hasn’t got a conversion rate to write home about but not make a blanket statement. It’s just not true and therefore is just a baseless opinion, unless further clarification is provided.
When England see Zak Crawley they see Sehwag. Attacking innings and if he stays in can build long innings
Last stable opening pair England got was Straus and Cook after that they tried with many options along side cook
Sam Robson
Root
Vince
Roy
Alli
Stoneman
Lees
Burns
Lyth
Once Cook retired they haven't got anyone other than Crawley. Duckett looks promising but his spot is in question.
Stokes, Bairstow, Hameed, Sibley.. I think Malan might've opened too
Jennings
Zak Crawley is best opener in tests right now, and duckket and Crawley are best accept it.
What English Openers?..😅
ECB, ACB, BCCI Should Develop Israel Cricket...Some talented British, Australian, NewZealand, Indian who doesn't get chance in their national team should go to Israel and Develop their Cricket.. Cricket Needs Israel 🇮🇱
Btw you do know what you need to do play International cricket don’t you for certain countries?
No I didn’t think you did
@@CricketEngland so you are part of Anti Israel Gang too... Shame on small minded people like you
691 runs the past year at 53. Kimber is clickbait nonsense.
Get rid of Jarrod Kimber. Crawley top scored for England last ashes series and is clearly being told to play an aggressive style and has also scored multiple double hundreds so obviously does know how to build an innings
Best batsman in both series.
You are too incompetent to understand what Jarrod is talking about, don’t worry about it mate
(1) Crawley only has one double hundred. (2) You completely missed what Jarrod was saying.
Crawley has to play on the strength of his recent England innings. Why England haven’t recalled Keaton Jennings yet is a mystery.
