I'm very disappointed in this unit because, unlike every other fish finder on the planet, it has no fish alarm. This makes it largely useless when tethered to a boat. You have to stop fishing and navigating to look at your phone to see if there's fish.
That's a good point @mmforth Im sure in future models that might be something they add to it. It also could be something they add in to the app in future updates. I see that more as a software issue and not a hardware issue in the sonar unit itself.
@@YTBrettMiller Yes, an easy software update especially considering it's an otherwise universal fish finder feature. I've suggested it to Garmin as a product improvement a couple times and have heard nothing but crickets. Seems weird that an otherwise great fish finder would be missing something so basic. And locking your attention on the finder instead of navigating could actually endanger the user.
