Looks like a great tool for pond fishing 👍👍👍 not sure you’d need GPS for that so glad they offer the non GPS also.

For sure! Although, I think it would definitely be beneficial on smaller inland lakes!

How is it working with your yaK? I am thinking about the same for my yak - let it drift behind the yak and use an iPhone for the app.

Shout out CLE!!! I live in the land and wanted to do a review of this vs the deeper out on my fishing Jetski (I don't have a real quality fish finder on that yet)

Yeah that would be a cool review to see it out on the lake! Would def be interested to see how it compares to a boat sonar!

Great review. I was wondering if you could video the casting. I am interested in the buoyancy. Thank you.

I'm very disappointed in this unit because, unlike every other fish finder on the planet, it has no fish alarm. This makes it largely useless when tethered to a boat. You have to stop fishing and navigating to look at your phone to see if there's fish.

That's a good point @mmforth Im sure in future models that might be something they add to it. It also could be something they add in to the app in future updates. I see that more as a software issue and not a hardware issue in the sonar unit itself.

@@YTBrettMiller Yes, an easy software update especially considering it's an otherwise universal fish finder feature. I've suggested it to Garmin as a product improvement a couple times and have heard nothing but crickets. Seems weird that an otherwise great fish finder would be missing something so basic. And locking your attention on the finder instead of navigating could actually endanger the user.
