That whole incident.... being asked to open for Radiohead on the OKC tour, then having that happen.... I can’t imagine. This song always gets me😢. Such a remarkable song writer. Saddest suicide ever. I’ll never forget getting the news at work that he was gone. I knew he was struggling with the divorce and having to move out of the home he had in the mountains, but after everything he had been through I never thought...... Anyways.🙏🖤✌️
@@RustinChole He was fragile and extremely deep, I think thats what we all can sence from him,.. even if his wife hadn't left him,.. he probably wouldn't have had a long life, the great ones dont seem to last. example: Vincent VanGoh.
@@676bun He lasted 47 years he wasn’t exactly young. He wasn’t “fragile” he was suffering. His fam’ isn’t into the idea of that kinda info getting out but christ. It’s what happened. When I stayed with him on tour he was in a wheelchair and in a tremendous amount of pain. But I never thought he’d kill himself.
@@RustinChole you probably right, I know he was something like a high functioning autistic or ashberger sydrom type (from doc's I seen)... Even in his own words, he said this. 47 is still young in the bigger picture of things, I mean if he could have kept going, he could have made greater music (i think) under different circumstance. Well, we both agree he was amazing,... its crazy that there are alot ppl out there that never heard of him.
seeing him swimming slowly almost floating in the water gives this such a magical and unique feel. It's like even though he has a suit on which would normally make him sink, he still swims up, but never really getting out of the water. Of a magical journey under the moonlight, but a lonely, melancholic one. It's like the constant struggle to be happy and the fascinating feeling of being ascended by your sadness... And we all know that's what Mark always did. Turning sadness into beauty ❤️
This is the Ultimate COVID-song.... Blanket me sweet nurse And keep me from burning I must get back To the woods dear girls I must get back to the woods In the bloody elevator rising for their first cup of tea Of the day When does sky turn into space And air into wind? The only things I really need Is water, a gun, and rabbits Let me rest My fevered cheek Upon your warm sweet bellies In the bloody elevator going to the bright theater now Come on boys Please let me taste the clean dirt in my lungs And moss on my back
The true story behind that song is one of the most tragic I’ve ever heard. Being asked to open for Radiohead on the OKC tour, accidentally ODing before you could even play with them once, collapsing in such a way he cut off blood to his legs, by the time they found him and straightened him all the built up potassium rushed to his heart and caused a heart attack...... The balls it takes to explicitly write a song about an experience like that, then play it over and over live.... I still can’t believe he killed himself. 😞
Such a great song. Gives off some Silent Hill vibes. An unknown and unseen presence torturing you with a past you try so hard to forget.
"blanket me sweet nurse" ... these were the nurses that saved his life in England. Wish we could have got to hear more from him.

It’s a true story too. One of the most tragic stories I’ve ever heard. Mark was a one of a kind. Miss him so goddamned much.

Oh Man...
"The only thing I really need, is water, a gun, and rabbits"
You're at peace now Mark...
What a great song!
When does sky turn into space and air into wind?
He was a genius
yeah. That one you can google and never get the song.Everybody thinks they are a genius these days.
And keep me from burning

Blanket me sweet nurse
And keep me from burning
I must get back
To the woods dear girls
I must get back to the woods
In the bloody elevator rising for their first cup of tea
Of the day

And air into wind?
The only things
I really need
Is water, a gun, and rabbits
Let me rest
My fevered cheek
Upon your warm sweet bellies
In the bloody elevator going to the bright theater now
Come on boys
Please let me taste the clean dirt in my lungs
And moss on my back

@@RustinChole This is indeed very sad! Even though the song remains a true masterpiece...
