My campark camera failed soon after setup and it is impossible to get help from customer service in china. The camera is poorly made and will not last long. Mine broke while under warranty and company would not honor warranty. Do not buy !!

Hi Mary, I've had a quick look, and I can't see a way to turn of the video

I've just bought a TC27 which is the latest version of this camera I think. It's working fine although I can't figure out how to switch it permanently to HD picture quality. There doesn't appear to be a switch for it in the config menu and if I select HD off the main screen it goes back to SD next time I go in. In your video you say you set it to HD mode in settings. Can you say how you did this please? I'm staggered though that there's no way of downloading video from the SD card via cable. The USB socket is for charging only. I too have bought a 5GB/month SIM so will see how I get on. I have taken the Data card out and loaded it into a laptop and transferred files that way but it's a bit of a faf.

I have always taken the card out and downloaded from it due to leaving the camera in situ, so didn't know you couldn't do it through the cable. Haven't used it for a while but I would have thought the same as you and that once changed the HD setting stays the same.

When I was using it, I was viewing the daily updates from Bali, great bit of tackle.

@@CloughReviews Found the HD setting - it's in the user profile not on the main settings menu. Not sure what it does though - file sizes i.e. kb/sec of video don't seem any different between SD and HD - I would have expected HD files to be larger. Strange behaviour on download of files to phone - sometimes puts them in download folder and sometimes in DCIM/UCON. Also gives them a *.tmp file type (in downloads folder) but I can change this to MP4 and they play OK outside of the APP. I've got one problem with trying to share the camera with another mobile using the APP share feature - it does send a message to the new phone but comes up with a error message - invalid device password - one for their tech support I think.

Sorry for the late response Thomas, I hope you have solved the issue by now. The only problem I had was that I had a Mic connected to the phone when I was doing it, once I disconnected the Mic, it worked. Good luck (contact Campark if you have solved it, their customer service is good)

Looks a great setup. Could you give me a idea of running costs? Could you put your own sim card in it? What’s it like for signal?
    Thank you.

Hi Phil, running costs are as low or high as you want. I put a £10 pm 5GB Sim card in it, but on reflection, I could have got away with a lower GB card, probably as low as 1GB. With regard to signal, find out what carrier gives the best signal in the area where you will be using the camera and go with them. I did my research and bought a SIM card from that carrier that was a month-by-month contract card that I could cancel at any time.
You should be able to just slip your SIM card in from your phone to test it if you want to. The rechargeable batteries do last a long time, but where I had it, the solar panel did not keep them fully topped up. It lasted for about a month (constantly switched on) before I had to recharge it.

@@CloughReviews Thanks for the video. Could you let me know at about what distance does the camera detect movement and start recording at night?

@@looserkuka I use it to pick up anything within about but it will do more than that. Yes, daylight or night.
