I sent in Soul Herder and Europan Reef Gold! Again, Soul Herder's setting and tone may not be for you, but I think the themes of PTSD recovery and things from Beyond might resonate. Europan Reef Gold was one I knew you'd like whenever, a few months back, you mentioned that you wanted more deep sea and sci-fi fiction. I put some handwritten messages inside the front covers!
Reef Gold has a solid thirty-plus illustrations by a whole team of artists and a whole web of short stories that connect them all in and around the main novel. It's a wild, weird volume that I would have never been able to put together myself.
But really, I sent them in because I had your videos on in the background for a huge portion of the time I spent writing Europan Reef Gold, so it's a small thank you for the contribution to my ability to focus, lol.
I think Europan Reef Gold is definitely something that I'll enjoy but I'm really excited to read Soul Herder too. Books outside of my typical genre are usually the ones that surprise me the most. I loved Horror Movie so much that it has claimed the spot for my favorite book of the year thus far. As with many of Paul Tremblay's books, opinions on it are varying pretty widely, but I adored everything about it. (I read it physically the first time and via the audiobook the second -- the audio production is top tier with a full cast in parts of the story.)
I did see that people are either loving it or hating it, but I've enjoyed every book of his that I've read so far. I'm trying to not let the reviews discourage me from reading it.

I just finished reading Intercepts. It's clearly influenced by Philip K Dick's classic Minority Report but a compelling and thought-provoking read nonetheless!

I'm currently listening to Horror Story on Spotify. I'm over half-way through and it's so good I already recommend it. Can't wait to find out how it ends.
"Horror Movie" is great! It's very meta, and written in an odd way. The ending will be brilliant to some and frustrating for others...I loved it!
Anyone thinking of picking up Demon Twins, it's got some great unexpected twists. It's fast paced and a complete adventure that never takes the predictable route. Give it a shot!

Currently reading The North Woods by Douglass Hoover, a Marine Corps infantry combat veteran. His background lends a tremendous amount of realism to the characters in his book (who are also combat vets looking for a missing friend in dense woods that may hold some lurking evil).
Also, I recommend the Rats trilogy by James Herbert. It's solid.

@@AndaKent it’s easy to miss when editing 😂 but personally I wouldn’t worry too much about missing a few. I mostly see it as a humorous quirk since it’s rare enough to just be funny and not annoying. 😄

I finished horror movie last week. To be honest I wasn't that impressed. I found the style distracting and it wasn't psychological to me. I was really disappointed.
Have you read the alien novels? I mean the good ones, Cold Forge, Charybdis and Phalanx, some are bad, fanboy bait, but those 3 are really good
