Im trying to do a roller rack and pinion. Ive got it working with a Gear Mate but wondered if I could use the Rack and Pinion Mate? Also whilst the Toolbox has spur gears the matching racks are all straight. Im just using a curve and a circle extruded as proof the mates work but wondered how to model it with teeth on the gear and rack. Can I email you assy please?
A sector gear rotating regularly. The pinion should rotate only when sector teeth come in contact. And remain statiinery during without teeth area.

How to find the pinion circle ? It is not showing.
What defines the distance between the rack and pinion of 35mm? Is there a formula for this
it should be defined as pitch height of the rack + (pitch circular diameter of the pinion / 2), which is 10 + ( 50/2) = 35 for this example. in my formulary the formula it is: e = c + (d1/2)

I have trouble while rotating the gear, both elements move like yours but mine crosses the tooth of the rack, do you know how to solve this?
Under Mates go to RackPinionMate1 and edit the feature. Select reverse under The Mechanical Mates menu
