Got that thing running good! Sold the 450? Will you be able to get to the gas stops in desert races? Nice riding, man! We should go rip it up some time
Thanks! It's definitely a little rich, but I'd prefer that over lean, especially on these last generation case-reed CR's as they have a tendency to crack exhaust bridges when underlined/overheated. I did sell the 450 as I enjoy riding and working on two strokes way more. I'm not sure about future races but luckily the Sand City 100 has E-gas on both 40 mile loops which is good as this thing gets terrible mileage and is running a stock tank! I'd love to man! I'm in school and finals are coming up so I'm pretty busy right now but once classes get out I plan on riding 3 times a week so we'll definitely link up. I've never been to Clay Peak, planning on trying it out soon.
Great bike buddy. I just bought a 2000 xr250r. It needs carb rebuild and the timing chain prob needs adjustment. You know of any forums or anywhere I can get some advice/help?
Congrats man! Those XR's are solid bikes, really easy to work on! Give thumper talk a looks, it's a great forum. Also free downloadable service manuals should be available online!
The must-do mods in my opinion are: seal the airboot to the airbox (oem design is flawed and lets dirt in), replace stick reed cage with a vforce 3 (makes an enormous difference in power), make sure the RC valve cables are properly adjusted, and check that the exhaust orings are actually sealing to the cylinder exhaust flange.

I’m about to buy a used 2002 cr250r, is there anything that probably needs improvements?

Premix Peter do you know of any sites that show how to adjust the doc valves correctly?
@@alexanda7876 No, but just google "12mm Method" and you'll find it. It worked perfectly for me.
Premix Peter Thankyou
