    How long after you spray paint do you wait to use the crystalac?

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to let it degas for 48 hours before adding Brite tone BUT with that said you can glitter during that time. So what I normally do is prep and paint a bunch of pens, then allow that to dry a few hours or over night ( if I get distracted with my kids haha) then glitter using crystalac glitter glue allow that to dry then smoosh the glitter using E6000 spray a few times and by the time all that is done and dry it’s been 48 hours, so I can move onto Brite tone.

    I looked at both this video and the one about the pencils and I just can figure out what happens with the hole created by taking the clip off. Do you tape over the hole then spray paint?

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you don’t want to create a hole. If you twist just right there won’t be a hole. I wouldn’t sell any that actually developed a hole but use them to create something new. You could use a printed vinyl wrap on those for personal use Or you could UV resin a piece of tape over it I guess but like I said for personal use.

    Is glitter glue and bold touch the same thing?

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I actually never heard of bold touch before. So I’m not positive. Glitter glue is equivalent to Mod Podge.

      @@devildollcustomcreations I’m sorry Bright Tone (new to all this)

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh ok haha. So you can use Brite tone to attach your glitter while it’s wet however I don’t do that method because Ive never got ever good coverage that way. So I glitter with glitter glue then add the Brite tone on top to seal it all in. I have a few tumbler tutorial videos that I use solely crystalac products and I explain a little more in those videos. I’m also working on beginner videos for the future!

    How long from start to finish? And finish being where you give it to the client?

    • @tinahaynes175
      @tinahaynes175 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      4 hours per coat of brite tone, 1 on the turner, 3 on the drying rack. Then you have to wait a few days to ship. Like 3 or 6. I forget.

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello
      So yes you have to wait 4 hours between each coat. But I can get around 4-5 coats on a day if I start right away. These took me around two full days to finish. Then you have to let them cure for a minimum of 5 days before you can give them to the customer. You have to remind the customer that crystalac isnt fully cured until 30 days but they can gently use them until then. If you smoosh the glitter down really good it will cut down your amount of coats you will be doing

    What is the complete time it takes with all dry times for these pens?

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are only doing one and a single glitter color without a decal. With doing 4 coats of Brite tone so they are completely smooth. 2 days (ish) remember you have to wait three hours between coats but if you add a coat before you go to bed and let it turn into the night then probably 24 hours if your on top of getting the next coat on as soon as you can. Then it has to sit before it can be giving to the person 5 days. If it’s getting shipped I normally box them up after 3 and they are fine.

    Hi I started doing the glitter pens and I used epoxy but for some reason they feel sticky… can I sand it and use the brite tone?

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello
      So if your epoxy is still sticky unfortunately that means you didn’t mix it correct and it won’t cure. You can either sand that layer complete off and try again or just throw pen away. So you can’t switch back and forth between epoxy and Brite tone until they have fully cured which is 30 days.
      I’m sorry you are having issues. I hope this helps

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s totally depends on what type of epoxy you are using but most are two part epoxy resin where you measure out part A and part B equally.

    Do you need a turner when curing with bright tone?

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So technically no because you are doing super thin coats of Brite tone. You can do the hang method with them. I haven’t tried it myself yet

    How long does it take to cure? With tumblers it’s 30 days but because it’s a much smaller item will it cure a bit quicker? Thank you for the tutorial! Very helpful!

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello
      Unfortunately it doesn’t matter the size of the item when it comes to cure time. However yes it’s not fully cured until 30 days but it can be gently used before that. For epoxy it is after three days and crystalac it’s 5 days. You will just need to let your customer know that it’s not fully cured until then, so be gently with them

    How many coats do you typically do for your pens ? I know it depends on how well you smoosh the glitter but is there a minimum number of coats you always do?

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do a minimum of four coats but that’s over non glittered ones and 6-8 on glittered ones and I do really thin coats. I honestly dont keep 100% track of my coats, I normally just keep adding until they are glass smooth and if I feel any weird lumps after the first 4-6 coats I sand it down before the next coat. Don’t sand before 4-6 coats because you will sand away glitter colors

    thank you!! I did my first pens this past week and one was a candy cane haha but it was just a red and silver stripe twirling around to the top. My bright tone arrives in a few days. I didn't want to do epoxy. I tried it with a couple of cups and hated it. I used the rest to make a paperweight lmao.

    • @devildollcustomcreations
      @devildollcustomcreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s funny! I love anything candy cane!!!! Haha yes epoxy is not for everyone. I’m really allergic to it and when I use it here and there I have to be in like a full hazmat suit I feels like. But with crystalac I don’t have to be, it’s amazing!!! You will love brite tone! Keep an eye out I’m going to be posting my advanced pen videos in a few days!

      If I’m doing spray paint I use rustoleum Matte spray paint. The universe white is a paint that the crystalac store provides that you don’t have to de gas at all because in comes in a tub not a spray can.
