    Thanks for posting this. Found it as I was about to cut my 4Runner lower bumper to install a Lost Trails winch bumper. I had already grabbed the Dremel when I thought, "Wonder what the web has to say?" This video was the first advice I found. Switched to oscillating tool and result was much better. Tip - there's a half-round saw blade for the oscillating tool. It looks like half a pie with the teeth all along the curved outside edge. Much easier to control and no worries about the 90 degree angle of the straight blade.

    Rob, I’ve seen many people that did Viper cuts on their bumper. They used the oscillating tool for the straight cuts and you have more control with the Dremel for the curves. Good luck Buddy, I’ll keep watching!

    I will go with the dremel. Use a good disc and steady pace. The BA Hiline front bumper is hard to beat for its quality and price. Excellent choice, my friend.

    Hand held 4 1/2" Ryobi board cutting saw or small skill saw type which i used to cut plexiglass when my rear glass windshield got vandalized.

    Will you be making straight cuts only? If not, try some curves with the tools. The oscillator seems to have a cleaner cut.

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mostly straight with a couple of bends👍

    Aloha and good 🌟 evening 🌙 Rob. I'd use the dremel saw to trimming the top and use the oscillating saw for the sides. It sounds corny, but the point is getting the most precise, accurate, and less errors in the trimming or cut away. God Bless you and good luck in this modding. I remember when you did and process the trimming in the bed of your Voodoo Blue Tacoma as you installed a cubby box on the left side near the tailgate. This is one of the most daring and daunting mods that you processed without having great fear to having a careful and great mod. Great video 📼 Rob.🤜🤛🙌😄⛅🏡🤓💰😇🤠😎👍🔍🔅🌟👐🤲👀💪🎓📼🤙🐶🐕

    They make different type of blades for yur oscillating tool which may work better than the blace you currently are using in the demostration. Happy curring!

    Oh boy, I hope you film this process.
    Try putting painters tape down on the cut line and then cut.
    Also can you remove the bumper and cut from the back side? If so the body saw may be best.
    Just my .02

      They actually recommend that the bumper is removed. However, I do not believe that is necessary. I will definitely post up a video on the job.

    Most oscillating tools, and turn the blade 90 degrees to get the tool out of the way.

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Gotta admit...I just discovered that! Definitely makes that tool more handy!

  • @soccertl
    @soccertl ปีที่แล้ว

    BTW, I saw a trick of cutting plastic like that by heating up a box cutter blade until it gets at least a little red and it cuts plastic like butter. You cut a little and when it starts getting a little resistance, heat up the blade again, rinse and repeat. Looked real easy but who knows.

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve tried something similar in the past. Unfortunately it doesn’t stay hot for long making the method impractical for long cuts😑. Good idea though.

    Get a real "body saw". They work great once you get a cut but that one must be. defective blade or unit the way it flops back and forth
