This channel got me into fishing! Great content, shows both sides of fishing. I’m in Thanet and saw the videos from the area any advice on marks at all?
Thanks Alex that means alot👍👍. It all depends on what you want to fish for but I would definitely be putting some effort into Reculver and minnis Bay soon to target smoothhounds👍
Thanks Guy's, really enjoy you both having a laugh even if you don't always catch, that's fishing but if your with good mates it always makes it worth while😀
At last a proper fish Greg, it’s been a long time coming. Let’s hope it’s just the start of a great few months. Keep posting. Regards from East Anglia.
Absolutely love watching your videos, it’s so refreshing to be able to watch something that’s not shoving brands in your face.. it’s also great to see your honesty on the videos, weather it be a good trip or a poor one! Keep em up buddy! Maybe I’ll bump into you one day on the beach somewhere!
Thanks for watching Marc👍👍 you never know mate. If you see a bright light pointed at someone's face in the dark on the beach its probably me with my camera🤦 come and say hello!
Another great video Greg, you guys always make me laugh. Good to Mark getting into those illusive whiting and we’ll done on your consolation blank saving ray 😂😂
Well done mate I could see it in your face that you was happy bout that ray never acc caught a ray it's defo on my list. well done lads nice to see use out fishing as always
Definitely happy mate 👍 it's been a hard couple of months fishing but hopefully things ate on the up. You need start targeting them now and you should pick one up👍
Great video content as per usual. So nice to see you finally break the blank, and a target species. Alway look forward to your videos as uou give some great info. I have never caught a ray from the beach along Herne Bay, only on the boats. Tight lines and see you next time.
Great video Greg. See the fishing has started to improve. I fished Hythe Ranges yesterday and had plenty of nice whiting and dogfish. Spring is around the corner
Great video as always! Cheers mate! I grew up in Beltinge, and that beach was my stomping ground for most of my childhood. I haven't been back for 27 years so watching this was a real memory jogger. My Dad and I used to fish along Bishopstone regularly but pretty much only ever caught whiting, pouting, rockling, eels and dabs...it was fun though. One time a dead Right Whale washed up on the beach down there....do you remember at all? Must have been 30 years or so ago now....Any way, thanks again and good luck on the rest of your adventures!
I dont remember that at all🤔 but then again I would have only been 10 and worried about playing football every second of the day🤦😂 I never find this arra that productive but others do get some good catches. Cheers for watching Lee👍👍👍
Greg, have you not thought about using a hair rig with a circle hook when targeting rays to stop them deep hooking? I use it to great success with rays. Keep up the good work🎣👍
Good to see a break in the fishing lull Also good to see the Kent weather a bit more sociable Looking forward to Summer of good fishing on the South coast
Mate it's dire everywhere tbh I've had 4 blanks in a row and loosing the will to live 😂😂 let's hope ot gets better soon I'm off to Pagham this weekend and Branscombe in Devon the following weekend so fingers crossed Great effort as always Greg 👏 👍
Followed you fellas for a while now. Always good banter, genuine friendship and shows a nice social side to the fishing. Lots of things to learn too. I’m still very new to shore fishing, any tips on the best time of year for the Thornies.
Thanks for commenting Peter👍 it all depends on where you are in UK for the thornies but in Kent they can now be caught all year round. Although I would say the next 12 weeks is gonna be the best time and greatest chance of catching a few
Think about a vlog on the herne bay outer marina wall. Visited with the girlfriend couple of years back and a chap was pulling a good few out on nothing more than mackerel at 70 or so yards, taking one for dinner… bit busy with tourists in the day though.
Been a subscriber for quite awhile and find your videos entertaining. Always a great watch If you could only use 1 rig and 1 bait to target Ray's what would you choose Cheers Sean
Great to see you both catching and even better that you've caught your first Ray of the year. Nice to see the channel is being noticed by the big Hollywood stars and getting the Hoff to make a special appearance too😂 👍🎣
Hi love the videos Me and my dad went fishing the night after you went and I got my first ray and Dad got 3 rays we were at reculver tower and we walk up the hill and the fist stairs we went down on too the beach and we fish the close rock arm going out to sea and we were near the wood that is on the beach. We had the rig pulley penal rig and we went for 3 hours and we got a total of 3 rays and it is good you got a ray I would recommend revolver as your next spot to fish it would be amazing to see it as a video if you make it a video.
Well done on your first Ray👍 Friday was a slightly better tide for Ray's and I do like Reculver. I was going to do it this week but im fishing a low tide venue and unless it's a big spring tide Reculver doesn't fish that well. I might do it in a couple of weeks time👍👍
Well gentlemen you have put the past behind you onwards and upwards. Greg you needed that Raymondo more than Mark needed to get all that crap from mcdumpers he would have a more nutritional meal from those tings ! 😄😄😄 well done for sticking it out and getting the monkey of your back! As you know I do love Ray fishing even more than hound fishing! My mate George fished Gilkicker point last night and got a Les Dawson blanketey blank cheque book and pen!
I hope I've put the past behind me🤞 I dont want to speak to soon as I know the fishing still isn't great about but hopefully picking up now kev. I do like rays but I think I prefer smoothies🤔😂
Hi Simon, not at all, unless you obviously completely cover the bait . I always like to keep it even and cover it enough so that there aren't large exposed bits for crabs to rip apart3
I think Mark is using the rig shark bite detection tip lights. They flash red when you get a bite but they also flash red when there is a wave , wind or a mosquito lands on your rod🤦😂
Hi Greg you should of come up the beach to the sailing club id of made you a coffee i had 2 skate that aft/ eve one 5 lb and one of 6lb14 oz by the way your he was a she ... have to sort out a day fishing and another day up the field
Hi Roly. I wasn't sure if you were up there or not, if I'd of know I would of come and said hi. Alan and Ben were next to us and said that your car might have been up there but weren't sure. We'll done on the 2 rays it was a slow evening with just a few about. Definitely should do a day's fishing and I'm up for some casting again too. Let's sort something. I'll pop in the shop next time I'm in herne bay
@@gsp it wasn't to bad where we were there were a few whiting a dab and a couple of dogs I should of had one more and Steve missed a good bite that was definitely Thornback I be out again soon I'll let you know enjoying the vids keep it up by the way the size I need is xxxl
Nice ray Greg well done Mark awesome session guy's well worth the wait and the hard work. We was out Saturday before last at Dover, but ill tell you the rest over your next 5 videos lol 🤣🤣🤣i have footage but im not going to post on insta for a little while. nice one buddy, glad to see things have picked up for you, you looked made up mate. well done👍👍🎣🎣
I was made up😂 it's been a very slow start to the year so one small thornie has done wonders 🤪😃
It's not just the fishing, the chat makes it a very enjoyable watch!
Cheers Chris thanks for watching👍
Couldn’t agree more.

I've moved to Spain 14 years ago love my fishing from the beach and harbour in altea get some weird and beautiful fish love your channel
Cheers Bill👍 I've never actually been to mainland Spain but should make it a must and do a spot of fishing 🎣🎣
Great video Greg. See the fishing has started to improve. I fished Hythe Ranges yesterday and had plenty of nice whiting and dogfish. Spring is around the corner
I cannot come any sooner William👍 I'm over winter now😂
Always nice to catch anything, much better to catch the target though, so can class that as a good session👍🏻
It's definitely a good session compared to my last few🤦😂 like you said Chris, target achieved is always good
Love the videos and love your enthusiasm even when you’re not catching keep em coming 👍🎣
Cheers Mark👍 sometimes having the enthusiasm is hard work🤦😂

@@gsp Cheers mate! Where did you grow up?
@Lee Straight in Maidstone so all I ever fished was the river medway, river len and mote Park lake. Not a drop of salt water in sight🤦😂
New viewer to your channel.
Brilliant videos. It takes me back about 40 years to when I fished a lot of these places with my dad.
Hi Darren thanks for subscribing👍 I bet they fished alot better back then🤦
@GSPseafishing a lot better. We could supply our neighbours with fish to eat whilst keeping a lot for ourselves
Greg, have you not thought about using a hair rig with a circle hook when targeting rays to stop them deep hooking? I use it to great success with rays. Keep up the good work🎣👍
I get a little worried of losing the smaller rays because they sit there nibbling and I worry ill tighten too early🤦 I might give it a go next time
I use a running up & over to all them to take the bait into the mouths before setting the hook
Really enjoyable watch.
Well done on both the Ray and the Whiting of course.
Appreciate the efforts you make for us all.
Thanks Ken👍 I enjoy doing it...well...sometimes 🤦😂
Love the overheads in this one Greg. 'Nuff said, John
Cheers john👍👍
Can always rely on the thorny to save the day 👍nowhere is fishing that well around the UK at the moment but chin up will soon be smoothhound time 🎣🦈
That is exactly what I'm waiting for now😂😂🎣🎣
Good to see a break in the fishing lull Also good to see the Kent weather a bit more sociable Looking forward to Summer of good fishing on the South coast

Love the videos mate and really enjoy the banter you guys have. Great to see

Great video I.m out after rays on the weekend 🎣🎣
Good luck Micheal👍 I hope you get into a few🤞

THANKS Darren! Yes mate I do lure fish and this year I'm gonna do a bit more than I have in the past 👍

Hi Simon, not at all, unless you obviously completely cover the bait . I always like to keep it even and cover it enough so that there aren't large exposed bits for crabs to rip apart3
What are the tip lights please which change colour on bite detection 🎣
They are rig shark tip lights👍
nice to get out on the beach and catch a fish.
what tip light is Mark using?
I think Mark is using the rig shark bite detection tip lights. They flash red when you get a bite but they also flash red when there is a wave , wind or a mosquito lands on your rod🤦😂

Try double sandeels for rays
I've never had much luck with sandeels around the North Kent coast, I don't know why🤔🤔

Can you eat rays? If so what’s the best way?
Yes! Skate is lovely.
