Well we knew David’s story about the crow wasn’t true. If he had problems with a crow, he’d hire a woman to help him talk to the bird to befriend it: “hello mr crow” 🤣
There have been Oscars for almost a 100 years. No way did a director who won two Oscars only happen in the 80s/90s, even without Googling. And now that I've Googled, it was Frank Lloyd, in 1933. There's a long list before you get to Spielberg or Stone.
@@simonfoster7288 It is to an extent, but it also seems to be partly just her. Rob and Rhod Gilbert don't say it nearly as pleasingly (monkeys come up a lot on this show, apparently), though admittedly Alex's accent is stronger than either of those lads.
@@simonfoster7288 I'm really not sure. I can't account for it. Her hometown of Ammanford in Carmarthenshire is about the same size as Rob's hometown of Baglan, but Rhod's from Carmarthen which is more than twice the size of either. There is a distinctive accent that seems to be unique to south-west Wales, though, which I've noticed in Carmarthenshire and (especially) Ceredigion. Since Rob is from further east and Rhod's from a larger town, Alex could be demonstrating a semi-rural west Welsh accent. Ammanford isn't far from Swansea though, but even so. Apparently she went to a Welsh-language school (which Rhod didn't), which I suppose might explain the stronger accent, though she spoke English at home. Ho hum, it's all a rich tapestry. 🤷♂️
Alex has the same way of delivering her lies and truths. Claudia mumbles her truth and speaks her lies pretty normally. Greg has this thing that if he mentions his sister, it's true. That is why I think she is a better guest than given credit for. Bob is still the best though.
Absolutely. That fking retard US Alex Jones is a lard-neck redneck - a useless fking disease for human society. Same goes for every fking shtbag who shares his thinking. 😅
You cannot tell if someone is lying, due to their body language. Even an intelligence test can’t tell you if someone is lying. That’s because some people get nervous when they lie, and some people don’t.
And that thing about people looking you in the eye meaning they're telling the truth is a totally debunked bit of folklore; in fact I think I've read that liars, knowing that people tend to believe that despite its repeatedly been shown not to be so, often make a point of making direct eye contact knowing they're more likely to be viewed as telling the truth because of it. Utter rubbish, and she says it with such authority and conviction, lol.
This options/choices bit is one of these parts where I just can’t believe it’s not scripted.. How do you come up with something like that on the spot?!
He's used that options/choice line on another episode of WILTY. I think he was talking to Paul Sinna. So maybe it's something he has ready when someone makes that mistake. David must be proud of his pedantry 😅
Left out the story that she was so cold she shivered her skirt off. She was keen on this bloke at a party. Come to think of it disaster sems to follow when she is chatting up some guy!
@@bfab7036 True, although Alex appeared pretty understanding of that kind of mishap. And for a second even seemed as if she almost wanted to start sharing a similar experience of her own :)
I don’t know much about Alex (don’t watch The One Show), but absolutely love her on WILTY, she comes across as such a funny, kind & friendly person 🥰
Also quite bonkers.
She is x
She comes across as intelligent & funny to me, as well as good looking.
Don’t get fooled by her persona. She’s actually a crazy conspiracy theorist, with wild ideas about 911 and Sandy Hook
And such a lovely accent!
Nice that Rob invites his sister to work!
😂

Bloody hell Lee Mack does crack me up, the early bird joke was top tier: 17:07
Is the applehead lady mocking the ghost of William Tell?😂
Possibly. She certainly finds herself quite funny.

She's great. Favorite Alex Jones moment was asking Lee how wide the railings were that he got his head (allegedly) stuck in 😄
Alex is so lovely and so so funny.
11:30 turns out David was in after all, at least in spirit 😂
Whatever else is showcased here, I absolutely love the way Alex says monkey. The little pause halfway through is delightful.
"MUNG - KEE" 🐒
That's the Welsh accent, I think. I agree, though, it is rather delightful.

@@liamwalsh4008 Maybe from a different part of Wales? (I'm not expert on Welsh accents). But her accent is charming.

Blackberry Messenger came out 2005 fyi (IF anybody is interested ^^)
Definitely my WILTY crush
0:17 David would be proud.
One of my favourite guests!!
Alex Jones is so pretty
Love her accent.

2:06 who is that really shoutey lady?
Su Pollard from Hi-De-Hi
@@keithwebb2349 thank you :)
Technically she has a 100% win record.
David's crow story obviously wasn't true. If it was, he would have hired Nicola.
The UK Alex Jones is so much better than the American one
Nahh

What's Alex Jones's accent? She pronounces everything so differently
South Wales
This was not the Alex Jones I was expecting lol.
Thank God :D
Alex Jones is alot of fun.

How couldn't they see the Oscar story was fake? Even I know John Ford won 4 Oscars in the thirties.
I would !!
Sure do like Britain’s Alex Jones a lot more than America’s!
Hey Alex, gimme ring.
Stacey and Alex 😏. Seriously though, she almost always wins in Wilty
Despite accidentally buying a canoo, the british Alex Jones seems more sensible than the american one
Infinitely more sensible
In fairness to British Alex, those early days of eBay were like the Wild West 😂
Fact.
Woohooo! ♥

a number of people have said Lee is actually quite intelligent. Wonder if it is just his role is to play the less educated working class man.
I must say, i prefer the British version of Alex Jones than the American one, by a huge margin
How can it be true about the writing slipping off?
Some of those old inks do maintain the integrity of their shapes but don't soak into the paper. It's very possibly true.
Any woman who feeds the hamsters before giving birth to her own child cannot be completely bad.
Looks like she was right. Rob can’t dance.
Alex Jones in a Welsh Goddess & should be worshiped.
alex jones lies in america is a totally different thing!
Oops ..wrong Alex Jones.
The right Alex Jones, not the Far Far Right Alex Jones.

That was Stacey's story on that episode.

She's not very bright, bless.
Don't be fooled - extremely sharp and very very successful.
You're kidding right? They only guessed correct once.
