the idea of a severed timeline of one's destiny, so to speak, is interesting ... there is an innate sadness of separation from one's dream or realizing there is an internal sense of self that is unable to be realized, via circumstances of life or contours of emotional reality that withdraw us from deeper fulfillment

Those quick to smugly dismiss mediocrity, the "middlebrow" should be careful; almost without exception the force of their own wildly unjustifiable esteemed self estimation carries them beyond that mirror which would reflect back at them their own striking mediocrity, a reflection that could only be met with horror.
Deleuze says that in answering Nietzsche's caustic question as to the use of philosophy, the answer is philosophy mocks stupidity. What a sickening sentiment, the snobbery is so overwhelming, I can only say:
Long live mediocrity! In praise of stupidity!

One pianist said : I don't hear Bach I hear Gould. Do have the Goldberg Variations but not in years.

Old Mattress is my favorite but Concrete and Correction are close seconds. Have yet to read Erection, Extinction or The Gathering Storm which is his most autobiographical work. Recursive is a good adjective. It is a bit like someone rubbing a running sore with... a running sore. But with a sense of humor. Hearing you reflect I become wistful recalling long lost libidinal investments.

If things were different would we still repeat the same mistakes? It seems so. Deep in the nerves the physiology. In Nietszche's eternal recurrence the tragedy is for ever- you were not chosen by God. Condemned to hell. If Wertinhiemerr hadn't committed suicide he would have become increasingly a monster? But shifting to a societal level - when you are forbidden from your most essential function life is always an antagonist. Hatred is the single refraction repitition Coda right back to an Evil God himself. The maker of formal patterns of deception and self deception the vanity and conciet of some one like Gould those who seem God like.. Bach was only Godlike also. Bad perfection or simulcra the imitation. Should imagine his reputation isn't what it was? Bobby Fisher comes to mind. An Irish man laughed at my imitation leather brief case once in a pub in the 2010s. I remembered later that I had not seen that Irish man in 30 years a brief occurance connection concerning a drug addict who threw himself in the resovoir 1970s It was always meant to go wrong. Just couldn't hack it. The will of God. An imitation a mockery of perfection but not a life the anti life. But there are still forgers and fantasy ect. One needs a very good cover story to get by though.
