    This is the best review on the H5 because he included his weight on the speed test. Most videos that do a speed test on the Evercross H5 do NOT include their weight, which is vital because speed will vary based on weight. I just wish this Man would do a review on the Evercross H9. Can't find any videos on that one but one.

    Dude the shim ideal was on point. I used a old shower chair took it to my maintenance guy in my complex he used a pipe cutter 4 inches was perfect, Dude my seat is solid! Thank you so much! Loving my Yume D4+ about to step up next spring to a Dualtron or Wolf!

      Very nice. I'm also cool with the H5, but I'm looking at the Varla Eagle One. The Apollo isn't bad either

      Check that Yume S10 and the Segway Max G2, my Son just Graduated from college and got a job in DC in fact going apartment hunting today, found something 1.4 miles from his job, he doesn’t know it but blessing him with a new scooter to get back and forth to work. Thinking the S10 which has a IP rating of 54, it rains in DC!

    I've been going crazy trying to find something that will at least do 20 mph maybe, I'm 6 ft 240 lbs, my 500w e-bike gets me 29 mph consistently, I had a couple in mind I was looking at, but for the price I think this will suit me, plus I live at the beach everything is flat, I think seeing you big man convinced me this will be a adequate scooter for my size.... great video thank you

    Aw man, thanks for the tip on adding a shim to the seat tube. I've been racking my brains trying to figure out how to keep the seat from slipping down.

  • @miles-x4u

    Advantage of having a seat is when you come to a hill you can kick along the ground with both feet to help it climb. It works I have a tank like Sealup Q18!

  • @debbrewer3311
    @debbrewer3311 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was very helpful because both my boyfriend and myself need to be able to ride it and he wants to use the seat and I don't really care. I'm just going to put in a shim immediately so it's safer for him. We were hoping this would work out for him being a bigger guy. He's about your size but 6' 2" so it should do the job after seeing this.

    I ordered a Hiboy S2 Pro and it has zero suspension… my bf got this Evercross and it is amazing, so I ordered one and am returning the Hiboy. I do off-road on grass and on trails and it doesn’t slip like the other one. These are solid tires, so they won’t pop. I like riding standing up, so I am going to figure out how to take the seat stem off. Kick stand is not the greatest and the horn is different, but small things compared to all the major stuff that makes this awesome for the price. I did a lot of research and you just can’t find a unique-key fast electric scooter with shocks and lights like this for under $700.
    Thanks for this review!

      S2 has rear suspension, although it is pretty much useless. This one is also way faster, has key, turn signals, full suspensions, adjustable stem height, foldable handle bar, comes with seat included already, dual disc brakes, etc. Only thing is that this is not a stable scooter at all, especially at high speed and standing.

    • @Thehandsomeliberal
      @Thehandsomeliberal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, it's a good purchase. I would like a little better suspension, but for the money, it's definitely worth it!

    Great vid. Great vid before this. Good info. I liked this model because of the "optional" seat. I want this as my upgrade from my intro model gortax gxl v2.

    THL...With your speed tests did you make the program change to increase the speed of the scooter to 100%? I have seen the settings for this as: P08: Hidden setting to set the maximum speed the scooter can go...P15: Maximum percentage of speed limit (set by P08) the motor can output. 100 = Full speed. Default: 100%....SET TOP SPEED
    You can limit or increase the maximum speed of this scooter with the P15 program option. You may want to do this for safety or regulatory reasons. This scooter's top speed is 29 mph, and setting P15 resulted in the following maximums:
    - P15 = 100% | Gear 1 @ 10 mph / Gear 2 @ 19 mph / Gear 3 @ 29 mph
    - P15 = 62% | Gear 1 @ 5 mph / Gear 2 @ 11 mph / Gear 3 @ 21 mph....Also I have seen this method but not sure which one works with what...Switch to Sports mode to be able to go 28 mph. You can do this by pressing the "M" button 5 times when the scooter is on.

  • @jb678901
    @jb678901 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm 6'1 and about 235#. I own a similar scooter (differnent branding: KuKirin M4) and it does hit 28mph on a flat bike path (both directions, no wind, about 80F ambient temp). However, I am considering to upgrade the rear shocks (about $20 per shock) to 125mm, to increase rear suspension travel. You can also do the same with longer front spring-shocks...in order to level out the deck more.

    Excellent review. I have one coming from Walmart, $550. I was curious about heavier riders, Im 220, so should be no problem. If I ride to a store it looks portable, such as folding up and carrying. Nice work with the seat shim. Is the seat base sturdy?

    • @Thehandsomeliberal
      @Thehandsomeliberal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the seat base is quite sturdy with the shim in place. I stand and sit while riding. Because I am 6 foot 6, there is a speed increase when i sit, probably due to my lower profile and less wind resistance. Seated riding also feels safer at higher speeds in my opinion.

  • @Buses2Bikes
    @Buses2Bikes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very cool! How are the tires holding up? Sailing Good Bad and Ugly channel recently talked about similar e-scooters they got and the only real issue they run in to is tires wearing out fast. They had their scooters about 5 months and have already had to repair/replace tires 3 times. Are you having any issues?

    • @Thehandsomeliberal
      @Thehandsomeliberal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think that's a bit quick. My tires certainly do not look like they will be useless that quick. However, with budget scooters, getting replacement items is always a major concern.
      With my weight, my biggest concern is brake pads.

    • @carbrickscity
      @carbrickscity 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This scooter has solid tires, no repairs. Just replacement if they are wore out. But yeah the brake pads are bigger concern.

    What is the dimensions on the shim?

    • @Thehandsomeliberal
      @Thehandsomeliberal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You want a shim that is the same diameter of your seat post. That way your post is sitting on top of it.
      The length of the shim should be from the base of the scooter to the desired height you want the seat.
