    Many of us have travelled along the large labyrinth of tunnels that lay beneath the streets of London, but lesser know is of the miles of abandoned tunnels that run along side them, a now disused part of the network.. but if you look closely you can discover hints of their existence through the remains of their station buildings which can be found all around London, and today we take you for a look at one of these stations of Aldwych on the Strand.

    Excellent video guys! Thanks so much for sharing this. Really cool you were allowed to film down there you really got some great footage and the narration by Em on the history was excellent.

      Thank you, we worked really hard on this one considering we were only given a very limited amount of time to film.. They didn't mind you filming as long as it wasn't of the actual tour guide themselves but I think we managed to still put something fairly decent together.. Thanks for watching, glad u liked it 😊👍

      Not too many people know this but I'm almost obsessed with anything to do with the London underground so to get the chance to visit one if its abandoned stations was a dream come true! 😍

      Hi Derek, it's really interesting that you worked at Holborn, I love that station being that it was designed by Leslie Green but that he wasn't allowed to use his usual Ox blood red tiled trademark facade so not alot of people recognise it as one of his..
      Nice that it brought back some memories for you.. Thanks for watching 😊

    Great video Em and Stu and good you’ve managed to tick another one off your bucket list.Can imagine that place VERY creepy at night and reminds me of the film ‘American Werewolf in London’..Look forward to your next video.Regards Simon👍

      Thanks Simon, we've waited sooo long to get the opportunity to go here.. hopefully we'll get on a few more of their tours in the further.. They actually say that the station is haunted by a female actress who used to perform at the Strand theatre that was on the site before the station was built.. Most Haunted did an episode there years back.. 😳 Thanks for watching 👍

    • @ExploringWithEmAndStu
      @ExploringWithEmAndStu  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was for us as it's something we'd wanted to do for years and I've always been fascinated by the tubes history especially the abandoned stations.. Saying that it is quite alot of money for a tour that only lasts just over an hour and we personally felt it did feel abit rushed, we'd have certainly appreciated it abit more if they'd given us abit more time to look around and soak in the history.. I must say at times I did feel like we were being herded around abit like cattle lol. We did go at quite a busy time for them as the tours had only just started again after the lockdowns so maybe that was why as they had alot of them to fit in.. Saying that I'd still book another one next time we get a chance.. Hope that helps abit and if u have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask 😊👍
