  • Rakssetra, Loen Skylift, Briksdalsbreen Glacier and Lovatnet Lake Memorial are some of the attractions we review in this tourist guide for a short visit to the amazing Loen Area of Norway. We also give a short review of Olden Fjordhotel where we stayed during our visit.

    Hello, which glacier is accessible by car then.. by foot without guide tour? all the best 👍🏾

    • @erikssc
      @erikssc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, not sure about other glaciers, but Briksdalsbreen is accessible by foot and by guide car.

      All glaciers are available, but you'd be crazy to do them without a guide as it's extremely dangerous. People have lost their life not respecting the warning signs to NOT walk onto the glaciers.

    Hi Erik! Really useful and funny video! I'm planning my visit trough fjords in april. May I ask you when you did this trip? Will it be too cold in end of April? I'm planning to hike on Skala Mount (1800m) I can't understand if it will be too cold... do you have any tip for me?
    Thanks :)

      Hi, we did the trip in the end of July. In April it might be more snow in the higher areas, but I am not sure for your destination. As for the cold, its only to wear warm clothes, no problem 😊.

    I just discovered your family's videos. GREAT JOB! Question: I assume you guys rented a car, right? Where did you start your trip with this car? and did you return the car back at the same place? (Again, I *just* discovered your wonderful videos, so I don't know what your whole trip plan was.) THANKS 🙂

      Thanks Keith. We actually used our own car for this trip, starting and ending in Oslo. In 12 days we went Oslo, Lillehammer (Hunderfossen Family Park), Rondane, Geiranger, Loen, Flåm, Gol (Bear Park in Flå), Oslo. Long trip, but lots of nice things to see.

    I visited Loen in July 2023 and it is a well-kept secretary from all the other busy tourist attractions.

    • @erikssc

      Yes, not as well known as Geiranger and some of the other places up there.

    is there ways to wild camp here?

    • @erikssc
      @erikssc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite sure about Loen, but the general rule in Norway is that you can camp as long as it is 150 meters from nearest house and only for max 2 nights. But there might be local regulations in addition. On the high mountain areas far away from buildings you can camp longer.
