  • Forrest and Dan in a new short film by Julie Angel. www.parkourgenerations.com For more info email Dan and Forrest at contact@parkourgenerations.com This film is a study of architectural potential and the body within a limited space. Parkour, conditioning, combinations, foot and hand placement, they've got flow. I've been shooting parkour action for nearly 2 years and this is the piece of work I am the most proud of. Enjoy!

    parkour is one of the coolest things in urban culture. this vid is just a training doc. you should check out the other parkour vids, parkour and free running people are crazy jumping off tall buildings and stuff, totally extreme

    Haha its crazy when i look back at this and remember wanting to learn turning lazy vaults, 360 underbars and even kong vaults and now they have become second nature. I will always love this documentary it reminds me of when I started Parkour.

    I was training there a while back with Dan. It´s exactly as he says: A space hard to move through if you encounter it for the first time. I have never shinned as much as I did in that 1 session compared to all of my Parkour life. Technical difficulty is huge. The flow you see in the video is unreal :)

    One of my favourite clips. Just simple, full of little gems to try out. And a lovely sense of flow which most vids miss.

    Parkour is not pointless, it improves mental awareness, physical shape, spacial awareness, also the discipline side of it teaches you how to overcome other obstacles in life that are not necessarily physical, it improves so, so much more than what can possibly be shown in this video.

    THis is a breath of fresh air for humanity.
    Amidst all the economical models we have to sort out representing true human power and effort, parkour reveals basic potential.
    Hats off.

    though you can train by yourself or with friends, having someone WAY better than you to train and teach you is incredibly helpful. how i first started was by watching UF tutorials and trying stuff in the school gym so you totally can get started without a teacher. BUT you would be amazed at how many clubs there are to train with. even in smaller cities theyre pretty common.

    This, this here is the heart of Parkour.
    Not the big jumps, the overrated flips, the horrible foot work...
    This here, concentration, acuracy, training, heart.
    Sometimes, i wish i was back in 2004 - 2008.
    Parkour, back then, was like this, it was pure, it was an awesome Phylosophy.
    Nowadays? We are full of dilluted Traceurs who don't know about the basics, the story, the real meaning of "Killing an Obstacle".
    Makes me sad.
    Like Bruce Lee Said.
    "Be water, my friend".
    Feel the flow.
    Be the flow.

    i dont know what is your point of view on skateboarding, but i see parkour and skateboarding like 2 activities that have so much in common.
    1. Both use architectural structures in an untraditional way as a mean of self expression.
    2.Both can be seen as a sport but also as an art form. 3.Both require technical and mental skills.
    4. Both are "opening your eyes" on the world around you making you see possibilities in every place you see.

    these guys describe exactly what street skateboarding is all about- using an environment for something very different for what it was intended, and moving through it creatively and spontaneously. people who do things like this develop a way of seeing the world with fresh eyes. parkour is cool, but skateboarding is the high art of environmental creativity. look up 'richie jackson' or 'william spencer' and see what i'm talking about.

  • @sellz22
    @sellz22 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Parkour is when youre moving from one place to another. And/or when you are escaping somthing.
    Free running is just when you are having fun doing cool thing and training.
    And militaries from different countries began looking for ways to incorporate Parkour into training. The British Royal Marines hired Parkour athletes to train their members.Colorado Parkour began a project to introduce parkour into the U.S. military and parkour is slowly being introduced into the USMC.

  • @LangBum
    @LangBum 17 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah its intresting the difference between a disipline and whatever free running is. i cant say i really know the difference, though i think i like the idea of freerunning better.

  • @BenWeintraub
    @BenWeintraub 17 ปีที่แล้ว

    Free Running: Free running is a physical art, in which participants (free runners) attempt to pass all obstacles in their path in a smooth and fluid way. Free runners interact with their environment using movements such as vaulting, jumping, somersaults and other acrobatic movements, creating an athletic and aesthetically pleasing way of moving.
