I remember my friend from Bangladesh who became my classmate in class sixth in 1971. I was 9 Years old then as well as my friend. His parents were killed by Pakistani Army. Since his maternal grand parents resided in Faizabad( Now Ayodhya), UP he came to Faizabad. He was a jovial boy. When one day someone referred to his parents, he started crying. I can't forget the scene.

Have been listening to this ghazal since 3 years now when my ex got married, still miss him haven't moved on..
I remember my friend from Bangladesh who became my classmate in class sixth in 1971. I was 9 Years old then as well as my friend. His parents were killed by Pakistani Army. Since his maternal grand parents resided in Faizabad( Now Ayodhya), UP he came to Faizabad. He was a jovial boy. When one day someone referred to his parents, he started crying. I can't forget the scene.

Noman Khan I thought it was for two soulmates separated by their ego. Regarding east pakistan I think bangladesh was never a part of pakistan . Had west pakistan treated bengali muslims like their brother, they wouldn't have done war killing 30,00,000 bengali muslims ,raping thousands of bengali women, and leaving 1,00,00,000 people shelterless who sought refuge to india. So, if this beautiful song was written for pakistan's separation then the poet has used his imagination which is far from practicality and beyond my understanding. If islam was the key factor of unification then why afghanistan is a separate country being in immediate border of pakistan????
