Almost hard to watch, started the cut of the pipe with a wood blade, was using a shorty ratchet and started to beat it with a hammer instead of getting a longer ratchet… started beating the cat before the bolt was out and was using the wrong bit for tightening the farings.
I’ve been debating on cutting the cat off my bike. But I don’t want it to be obnoxiously loud, I have the M4 GP slip on and I took off the db killer and it’s plenty loud now but I’m on a toss up of doing this
@@sambyf2445 I have not yet I’m sort scared to do it because if I do it and don’t like it then I’ll have to pay to get it out back on…. It already sounds good with the slip on and the DB killer removed but there is always that “what if?”
@@gsxrfrank8787 hahahaha I am in the same position. I think it is guaranteed to sound less classy. But I simply cannot unlock extra performance without getting that cat out. The metal fabricator I spoke to said he can cut my factory pipe and remove the cat and weld it back up. I might do it and stick the cat back in if it’s too loud!
@@gsxrfrank8787 so I went ahead and had the cat removed and had a new steel pipe installed from the butterfly valve upto the Yoshi muffler I have. Honestly it doesn’t sound any different, only slightly louder under acceleration. The biggest difference now is the way the power comes on. It feels 30% livelier and it now wheelies in parts of the rev range where it didn’t before. Dare I say it I think it is too quick now as the suspension and brakes cannot handle the power. The bike pitches and dives a lot now because of the way the power comes on. Will be booking a remap for it very soon and a suspension set up. Oh I forgot to add, it shoots a small flame on gear changes and under deceleration, and has a great pop and bang soundtrack to go with the visuals. I’ve been told this is either too rich or too lean and ultimately bad for the engine. Who knows 😏
Bruh. Were you riding around DC either Thursday or Friday morning around 8:30am ish? This vid randomly showed on up my recommended and then towards the last 10 secs of the vid I was like “ hold up. That bike looks and sounds familiar” lmao
It’s best to tune it. You don’t have to tho. If you don’t tune it you get a little flutter/ dead spot around 3500rpm and a lot of popping and snapping. Which some people like because they like the fire balls. But you do lose low/ power. The tune will wake it up a lot. It’s best to just tune it
surprisingly this video pointed out some stupid things i missed and have now corrected... thanks!
Sounds amazing
What brand is your mid pipe?
