Not only that, man, it had the PERFECT blend between wacky humor, "ecchi" fanservice, seriousness, drama, darkness, intrigue and it had perfect side quests, enemy designs were creepy, system was immersive and exciting even for a JRPG, and the music was perfect.
Absolutely loved this and Koudelka. Lookin forward to play Covenant. They don't invest in this kind of games anymore. This was low budget but the developers put everything they could on it

Brilliant. Started this game about 16 years ago but never finished it until picking it back up from my 22 hour save about a week ago. Just beat it and can't wait to do NG+. Horribly underrated game and wish I didn't wait so long to complete it.

Epic and excellent, the Judgment Day theme from those bells is terrifying. Not just one ring, but wave after wave, drowning out everything. Like an apocalypse.

I always found the bosses of the second half to be a joke, including Metagod. Just equip crucifixes to all characters and you only need to worry about HP and, in case of Alice, Sanity. Sure, Seraphic Radiance has the added benefit of dealing damage and healing, but its not required.
Boss designs aren't that scary anymore outside of the typical zombie horror genre. This screams Lovecraftian horror and i loved it. This and 2 were my favorites hell i loved the fact that they included the Hound of Tindalos....even if the lore canon Hound would destroy even Amon. " They were evil , derived of the geometric rather than the organic. They came from beyond time and space to hunt those who stepped over the boundaries. They found my friend and killed him leaving a strange blue ichor on where they ripped his leg from his body.... well something to that effect from the actual book.
ah man do i have so much love for this series and its music after all these years, and more to come. just remembering that one of its bosses is just... goddamn.... jesus with his skin flayed kinda tickles me. and god here being a space fly with hooves and shit, it's great. hoping for more weird and wonderful things in pennyblood~
the overall creepy moments that would sometimes come out of nowhere in this game are unrivaled in anything ever on a jrpg FOR ME..only think i can think of is the beginning of Xenosaga 1 and that comes nowhere close to SH1. I remember getting this when i was 11 at EB games thinking cool another rpg game i can play..and when i saw that opening cutscene it just blew me out of the water and i knew i was in for some good shit...then that first town just sealed the deal
Invisible ring (double damage)+the 100% crit rate item+a seventh key and he was done. I had neither radiance nor amon, but I still feel like I cheated lol
I had all 3 SH games before selling them about half a year ago with the rest of my games and consoles. The first two are on my top five RPGs for sure, it eas one of the rare moments where I wanted to do every side quest and get every secret in the game (especially on the first game). When you get that ultimate last transformation with Yuri and fight the last boss with it *chef's kiss* I just wish that they remaster all the games or at least put them on the PS Plus store/Game Pass.

You can find Shadow Hearts: Covenant on Ebay and Amazon. The EU version and the Japan version is cheap. No idea how it looks like with the US version. But I don't think the game will cost a fortune.

This is a very good theme, the bells are very nicely used and fairly imply a serious sense of 'We are so screwed'. Very nice.

This game was epic really made you feel like it was a journey and the atmosphere was really good too

The fight was easy for me as an Amon user. I just used Silver Hand + B. Dragon Horn + Keys = Meta God dead in a couple of turns :D

I like how this battle is still tough but much more enjoyable with fully decked characters at level 99
