When I first heard this battle was happening, I immediately knew Thor would win. Comic characters are just on another tier of crazy when it comes to feats.
I was honestly surprised how close Vegeta was to that level of power.

The thing about Instant Transmission, Vegeta refuses to use it because his pride wouldn't let him use a technique so heavily associated to Goku. He only did it the one time to instantly get to a fight and then swore to never use it again
Even if he wanted to use it again, he isn't nearly as proficient with it as Goku is. He only barely managed to use it that one time

I knew Thor was gonna win but Damn this was a fun battle, the music was good but Lani was the highlight as Vegeta, that Final Flash was probably the Greatest delivery of the fight and of any previous final flash I've heard
Loved getting my 3rd most wanted DB MU ever. As for next time, Homelander is finally gonna get what he deserves.

I went into the battle expecting some serious "BuT VeGEtA sHoUlDve WoN" but was pleasantly surprised. Why is it that people were okay with Veggie losing to Thor, but Carrot losing to someone who pulled a chain of planets out of a black hole is just unacceptable?
Because people love Goku more than vegeta and hate how strong superman is despite Goku being OP too.
Both marvel & DC characters have decades of ridiculous feats but because DC is more broken and wins the most in the death battles since they are usually against marvel so they get the most heat from viewers.

The reason was because they made dragonball characters way weaker than they should’ve been in both the kirby and superman one. Even this one they made vegeta far weaker than he should’ve been.

It was obvious Thor was going to win. The second Vegeta went UE that early on the fight it was over. I learned yeara ago that whichever combatant uses their Trump cards first are 98% most likely to lose.
Also, regarding you guys' Hyperbolic Time Chamber theory? Yeah, that wouldn't work. Base Thor is already at least 5-D by merely being an Asgardian and current Thor is outerversal, meaning he is beyond dimensionality itself. So no amount of training is gonna get Vegeta anywhere close to beating or even matching Thor.

@@mermer2811 He's killed Galactus and killed the Phoenix Force, both of whom are outerversal beings, and even killed another outerversal being that Odin himself (who's also outerversal) couldn't beat. On top of that, Odin literally admitted that he was afraid of the Phoenix Force and Galactus in turn never attacked Asgard because he was scared of facing Odin.

I don't know why so many people have a hard time realizing that despite how clearly strong Dragon Ball is, that they most definitely are not the most powerful verse out there. People freaked out when Buu lost to Kriby (despite how insane Kirby is just playing) and Goku lost to Goku. The crazy thing is someone said they needed both Goku and Superman in those fights and Seth used just ONE version of Superman who wasn't even physically stronger than Goku and that version still claps Goku due to running backwards in time and being able to look at someone and immediately know anything they've ever done and can see his soul. It doesn't matter how fast Goku is because THAT Superman moves in negative seconds (this sentence alone shows how absurd comics are despite Dragon Ball also being on that bullshit).
They did Goku vs Superman and now this!

Basically Super saiyan god and super saiyan god super saiyan are two different things. The db community nicknamed ssgss super saiyan blue because ssgss is not the best name and the rest is obvious.

This was literally pretty close and they even underhanded expectations in the fights animations to make you think vegeta might pop off despite transforming first.
The only reason it was "so close" was because they heavily downplayed Thor. Thor as he is now is ASTRONOMICALLY stronger than what he was given in this Death Battle.

This actually happened with Venom v Crona.
I mean I did some research, and I found out they didn't factor in that ssj gods stat boost that should have been his bace, cuz when goku just got ssj god it was stated in the anime that when he fell out of his ssj god form to his bace /ssj form.
He absorbed the ssj god form and it became his bace form.
So technically if we factor that in he would be on par with thors bace form if he was in ssj ego.
Vegeta would be = to 3,532,482 universes
Thor (bace form)=2,386,800
But still, if thor transformed he would get a x10 boost and vegeta would still lose.

Goku only absorbed the SSG stat boost in the movie not the anime or manga. When Super came out the movie became non canon and cannot be used for a reference to his power.

They totally did Thor dirty the first time around. They totally left out Thor’s more obscure abilities, including energy absorption and the God Blast. Not to mention completely ignoring far greater feats of strength and speed. Thor Talk made a whole video about it.
(On Wonder Woman’s side, she doesn’t have very many outrageous strength feats that don’t rely on scaling to other characters. At least as far as I know. But as for speed, she has plenty.)

Feel like putting Anime characters against western media characters as a whole, generally have disadvantage when it comes to notable feats of strength. I still enjoyed the fight, but would rather see more of a level “playing field” so to speak. Where both sides have somewhat comparable achievements and it boils down to skill alone. AND I’M SPEAKING IN GENERAL, NOT SPECIFICALLY OF ANYTHING! So don’t comment “you’re salty about the results of “x” fight or “z” fight,” tired of smart asses ruining a general observation.
Ngl in my eyes as long as the fight is fun to watch and the music is good its a dub for me, and this had both.

I don't know much about Dragonball. Not my thing. But if Vegeta turning purple means that's his peak performance, maybe that's a good reason why he lost. Because if it's one thing I figured out from some of these death battles, is never pull out your ultimate weapon in the middle of a fight. Because that's a telltale sign someone is going to lose.
As much as i love the fight one thing always bothered me
People forget that Grand Kai’s planet has universal volume (93 billion lightyears^3) and is solid rock, it was affected by the ssj3 goku powering up in fusion reborn which changes the Goku vs Beerus clash from 10x universal to 10 octillion times universal. That would of atleast make Thor use his Rune King form but I’m not sure who would win after that

Am I the only that is amazed by the animation and music.
Even if Vegeta did what you said and went into the hyperbolic time chamber and almost killed himself over and over again until he matched Thor, it wouldn’t really matter anyway. One of the things Thor is god of is strength, so, like Superman, Thor is as strong as he needs to be. And besides, even if that wasn’t the case, Thor would still have more fighting experience and he would still be able to cancel or absorb most of Vegeta’s attacks, so Thor would always have the edge.

I don't disagree with the outcome, I disagree with the reasoning. There are so many better feats to use for how Thor would beat Vegeta, and the reasoning with the power multiplier with UE being x20 because it's 'similar' to top's form is just a reach that I don't really appreciate. It's a 'it might as well be the same' without really anything to suggest such. Regardless of this, Thor still wins. Thor just has more feats that make Vegeta's feats look like child's play.
I love Vegeta, and he put up a good fight. I love the animation and music involved. While I was silently rooting for Vegeta, I know that this kinda battle was already decided before it began. Marvel characters have just way more feats than Vegeta.

They said it was close because he would likely get stronger as the fight went on. And 10 times is small considering Saiyans do larger jumps almost every fight. Not really a contradiction.
@@kenshanparchman6838 Considering the massive amounts of power Vegeta has and that they were talking about BASE Thor compared to… what was it? Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Ultra Ego? Not really that small at all. They were comparing Base Thor to the highest form Vegeta has/had, and Thor had another form above that.
@@ShadowdaHedgie11 No, as they pointed out, since Ego has no official multiplier, and it's whole thing is multiplication as the fight goes on, on top of his Saiyan biology, they had to sort of guess based on Blue Evolved.
Not saying Vegeta is stronger, but a 10x to 20x(including warriors madness) shouldn't be an impossible gap to close when your main fighting style and power set is focused on getting exponentially more powerful as you fight.

Vegeta's not going to be bridging that gap in power against someone who's centuries old and used to fighting for over a month at a time. Especially when they're resistant to the main power of Ultra Ego, the power of destruction. He's not Goku after all, and Thor isn’t some over-confident and cocky villain.

Odin Force would be a stomp, but Warriors madness shouldn't be (unless Thor just decided to start with the God Blast). Vegeta should still lose though in both cases since he would still have the disadvantage and would be struggling to keep up.
Hakai isn't the main ability of ultra ego, he can do it in base form at anytime, the power multiplying was what made it special and was his ace in hole. They had a good reason for guessing, but it's still just a guess. The form is still new and has only used by him in one arc.

different research teams and more scaling(they didn't scale wonder woman or Thor to anyone they fought like they did here). Also, most of the things that let WW win (like speed) are still things she would still have the advantage in.

@@romansionis2470 I wouldn't say that. Death Battle has changed how it handles certain power scaling(notice the ridiculous scaling chain they did for Thor's speed). The *reasons* for Wonder woman winning are mostly still legit (minus strength), the only difference is that numbers would be bigger for both sides.

I feel like dragon ball is getting into some unfair fights, I mean don't get me wrong I accept that cegeta and goku lost, but they always seem to be pretty even with the opponent until they do the scaling with the comics. All I'm saying is we need to throw a fusion in there to get some revenge on super man, goku did not deserve that second loss

I mean, Death Battle explained it best with this one quote: "Goku is an individual designed to have limits where Superman was designed not to." That's the whole point of Goku, he has his limits and his goal it to challenge those limits and overcome them. Superman on the otherhand was designed to have essentially a limitless potential. Sure Goku could always get stronger. But Superman will still have a limitless potential beyond anything Goku could achieve.
@@bloodwolfgaming9269 but at the same time goku's potential is also limitless and if he faced super man enough times he would catch up and surpass him, he sees limits as a choice and he chooses to break them. I hope they don't do a round 3 only because they're gonna say the outcome is the same even if goku gets stronger and gets better forms, if anything I wish they put him in a more balanced fight. Hell as I said before put a fusion up in there and see what happens, goku and vegeta on their own might not win, but gogeta/vegito could probably overpower thor or superman especially if they use the super dragon ball heros timeline where vegito used ssgss kioken or when gogeta used ssgss evolved. I just feel like dragon ball is getting a little shit on when the main characters are getting their asses handed to them in fights that were thought of before they even reached half of their potential
The fights have to be thematic and requested. All of Dragon Ball's matchups have been both of those. Not Death Battle's fault people demand a massacre.

Mjolnir’s ability to resist destruction ki through absorption and his ability to escape the destruction final flash while being hit by it is essential to why Thor could reliably beat Ultra Ego Vegeta. The fight is nonetheless closer than a lot of people realize. Thor is no Superman, and Vegeta has kept up with beings of comparable experience. I’d say Thor would beat Vegeta 60% of the time or better, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Vegeta comes out with a further powerup that eclipses Thor’s current advantages over him.
