  • We’ve encountered many skincare users who have discovered that the Vitamin C realm is just not their cup of tea and neither is it for their skin. Enter resveratrol! We discuss what resveratrol is, its antioxidant capabilities, and why despite the amount of data, we consider this a solid option as a non-Vitamin C antioxidant replacement. You’ve been warned, we get nerdy here, but lets go down the rabbit hole shall we?

This episode was a roller coaster ride! From seeing resveratrol as an antioxidant, to a hyperpigmentation tyrosinase inhibitor, to actually mainly something akin to a retinol (but not) due to how it might impact fine lines and wrinkles. Left my head spinning!
Goes to show how the ingredient shows promise but needs more testing due to some competing human study clinical results and in vitro and animal studies.
Thanks for going over the ordinary’s product. Reading reviews it does seem to cause redness, stinging, dryness. Appreciate the note about how it’s actually the main ingredient propandiel that can cause this reaction.

The synergistic R and Vit C effect graph was so helpful, thank you for this post! I felt like Resveritrol made a difference but I wondered if it was my imagination!

I use the I'm From Toner, then Matrxyl and Argireine, the Numbuzin no. 3 softening serum, and the No. 5 vitamin serum, topped with The Ordinary EUK. At night I use the Vegreen Mucin Serum, either Tretinoin or Copper Peptides or both, topped with a good moisturizer and maybe another oil.

❤ the educational content. I meticulously read the ingredient list now before buying!
I appreciate the short ingredient list of your products. Why do most products have such a laundry list of ingredients??

Haha we generally feel the same way. There's a lot of products that seem to have a whole bouquet of extracts and actives which make us feel like there's possibly not much of any of the listed ingredients...
