Basically this guy is my childhood, our childhood.
Yeah. Most of the cartoons I remember watching as a kid had him as a VA in some capacity (be it as a regular or a guest star). The shows that didn't were the classic cartoons that had VAs like Mel Blanc, Daws Butler, June Foray, Billy Bletcher, Pinto Clovig, etc (you know, the really old ones that are now dead) or had VAs that were just as prolific as him (Charlie Adler, Tress MacNeille, Rob Paulsen, Tara Strong [back when her last name was Charendoff], Frank Welker, Tom Kenny, Billy West, and Kath Soucie).
He's like the classic version of Steve Blum. Such a rough, gravelly voice. mm

This man is my favorite voice actor and possibly my favorite actor overall. This man has voiced pretty much all of our childhoods.

I do too. Of all the voice actors I've heard in the cartoons I've watched as a child, his was the most frequent. Second most frequent was Tress MacNeille, third is Mel Blanc (Looney Tunes and The Flintstones), and fourth is the recently-departed June Foray.
Jim Cummings once filled in for Jeremy Irons as Scar during the song "Be Prepared" in the Disney film Lion King. when Irons put his voice out

Keep on watching Talking Voices there's a lot of inspiration, all the actors have different tips and ways they got started. Look for local voiceover classes to get you started, they're a great way to meet people and better learn the craft.

I have heard of him a couple times before. Especially in the US teaser trailer for Thomas And The Magic Railroad. I was really surprised to hear him in something Thomas & Friends related.

Even tho he's good at so many voices I can usually pick him out in a role. He has voice sounds I think he finds useful for multiple characters so you hear different voice sounds in other characters he does.
