3:42 in fact: the scene where Skif’s apartment is destroyed by an artifact can be seen as a direct reference to what is happening in Ukraine right now- any moment your home could become a target for a russian missile or drone.
I dont know if its fair to call it eurojank anymore considering its way more polished than many western games in many ways, while still keeping the soul of the originals. Oh also if you have an 8gb video card you might get single digit framedrops at higher settings since the game runs out of vram. Unreal5 is demanding and this game still needs some patches to run well, and its very cpu intensive as well. Great faithful entry and I'm very happy it saw the light of day and ended up being really good as well.
if horribly optimized with a lot of bugs = "polished", if dumbed down atmosphere and lack of A-life = "keeping the soul of the originals", then you are right.

This is not entirely true - the parents of the Strugatskis were from Kherson and Poltava (these are cities in Ukraine). The brothers themselves were born in Batum and Leningrad. @@gangstercat7725 The Strugatskys wrote good science fiction, many people know them from their books, in addition to "Roadside Picnic" based on which Tarkovsky filmed Stalker, "It's Hard to Be a God" or "Monday Begins on Saturday" are also worth reading.
9:48 Playing on rtx 4060 8gb. I noticed that nvidia Frames Generation should be disabled if You experience severe fps drop from 100 to 5 and only game restart helps. After I turn off DLSS FG and switched fo FSR3 FG everything works fine. I hope in nearest future dev patch this bug with nvidia FG.
When you get the servere FPS drops, you can also fix the FPS issues by doing a few things. 1. If you're in a town, leave the town. (Hah), 2. Save your game, then load the save (This will fix it 8/10), 3. Stare at the floor or just pause for a moment and wait for your computer to essentially clean the memory.
@ set foliage to low/medium. Should be decent experience on CPU - 5600x or better, GPU - 3060Ti(Desktop) or better
One thing I noted while playing this; I have no idea why, but the dialogue reminds me so much of Fallout NV, just something about how they talk, it just feels so similar. That's not a complaint! The only complaint I really have with this game is the freaking bullet sponges.
@@thyrampantpigeon Yeah, I did notice how a lot of the quest givers had “Fallout Talking Head” as I’ve come to call it. And like you said, it doesn’t diminish it in the least. Because they do a lot of cool first person animation and story telling in there.
I can' quite put my finger on it, but I was connecting some dots between this game and far cry 2 and now I've seen multiple other people do it as well.

maby only when going to 1440p. at 1080p the game eats 6-7 gb of ram, not more at any game point

Gothic is German afaik. But it does seem to be exceptionally popular in Poland. Maybe because the Polish dub is just super fun xD

Set global illumination to Low or Medium. That will help either going out of 5fps or never getting to it
