      @GoatOfWar In most dungeons, that's the case, but in some earlier dungeons like Haukke Manor, they can be a little wonky to properly navigate for someone who hasn't learned the layout.

      There's like 2 low level dungeons where this is relevant. Let's be honest lol

    I kinda hate that ffxiv watered down aggro to just popping an aura. Threat management was such an interesting mechanic back in the day and made fighting more dynamic.

    You wanna tank in Dawntrail and not sure which one? Well I got the perfect tank for you.
    Warrior, braindead, easy, broken, requires no healers to a degree.
    If you die complain about how Warrior is too weak and needs more buffs.

    My problem is when it comes to trails where there is 2 tanks, how do you know when you are supposed to switch mt and ot? Do you even need to switch for regular content?

    • @neiabaraja2044
      @neiabaraja2044 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are some mechanics which would make it slightly easier for the group if you switch.
      For example: A5N (Alexander - The Fist of the Son); the Boss will make himself bigger and proceed to give the MT a stacking debuff named "Headache" which after 4 stacks will advance to "Concusion" which increases the damage of his next attack. This attack will then either wipe out the MT or damage them by around 90% HP. This is the point where you could switch Tanks so it does not happen. But in all fairness this will just be either a mild inconvenience for the group or, if the healer is semi-competent, not matter at all since the healer will top the tank off befor the hit and immediately again after the hit.
      In short: Is tank swapping neccessary in normal content? Not really. You could do it if you know what the mechanic is but its not a problem if you don't.

    My problem was always securing aggro on everything during a mob pull. I switched my camera to legacy, which let's me do range attacks without any effort. My next problem is finding the best position. Like the boss just jumped to the side. He forced everyone to go to him. Now he's done with the attack. Do I just stay there or move him back to the center? More of a problem with roulettes when going up against a boss I haven't seen in a year.
    As a DPS, or even a healer, it's just.. pew pew.. brain no care unless extreme.

    • @THiiro
      @THiiro 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's all about making life for your party easier, for your example with the boss jumping to a wall often times they will move themselves so you moving them is pointless. Better to just keep them at the wall and not spinning them around or moving them too much so your melee can get positionals. Some fights (particularly older ones) the boss may not do that and upcoming mechanics may become harder as a result.
      Moving bosses as a tank is less so about whats best for the boss, and more so about how can you make life easier for the rest of the party.

    Worth noting there is one downside to Warrior invuln; it requires a target to activate. If you're not targeting, you can't cast it, and if your target dies, it ends early. This is only important in mob pulls so be sure to latch it on the healthiest one.

      @@idontlikeURLsyes, you can. If you use Holmgang without a target, it activates just the same as if you had targeted yourself, which is preferable since, as mentioned before, targeting an enemy and that enemy dying before Holmgang runs out will end the invuln early.

    • @GriziDaWiz
      @GriziDaWiz 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if you aren't pulling w2w in most dungeons, especially in EW, you are doing something wrong. Not that I like this formula, but all those dungeons are basically designed to be w2w.
      Hopefully dawntrail fixes that, Yoshi P has said he regrets making the game so easy.

      Did you know at 84 pld heals 400 potency with each magic attack (you cast around 8 per minute so it's around 3200 potency total per minute), Holy sheltron grants you a regen each use (which is on a stack system, so you can hold two and gain 50 oath every 21 seconds for another use).
